Hi everyone,
We all have body senses that are the five senses, these senses pick up things by themselves without the person intentionally picking these things up according to the ability of each sense. The eye stores everything it sees, the ear stores everything it hears, the nose stores everything it smells, the tongue stores everything it tastes, and the skin stores everything it feels. But to intentionally use these senses we can only focus on one thing at a time. For instance, we can hear everything but we can only listen to one thing at a time, the same goes for the other senses. But as we have these senses, they can help us grow positively or negatively depending on how we want to channel them, and we all want a life that can grow positively, so how do we achieve a positive growth in all the mix up of everything we find in the world?
Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).” AMP. To have faith, you must listen, and what we listen to must be the Word of Christ, in other words, to be able to get the faith, it is the word of God that allows us to hear what is right when we hear it. Although hearing is not the only way to have faith, we could see a thing which could make us have faith.
The whole essence of all these is on what we listen to. Jesus said in John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jesus also said He is the truth, and it is the truth that we listen to that establishes faith in us, what we listen to matters. The world is full of things opposing our faith, opposing what God has given us as Grace.
As Romans 12:2 says we should be transformed, by the renewal of our minds, what we listen to is also very important. We cannot know what the truth is and listen to things that oppose what we stand for, through the music we listen to, the books we read, gathering we attend, true we cannot escape not hearing things that are against what we stand for, but we should not deliberately go and corrupt our minds again because we need to grow into the fullness of Christ in our walk here on earth.
We should be well grounded in the word of God in order to counter anything that goes against what we stand for, this was why the house on the rock stood firm despite the storm. As Sons of God, we will face persecution, but it is our stand on the word of God that helps us stand. The devil uses things that we like to pass his message and the more we listen to the message of the devil which is not always spelt out directly, the more we move away from the truth.
To stand on the truth, doesn’t mean being religious, because being religious is not the truth—Jesus did not establish a religion, He brought us a brand new life, and as we receive this new life, we should listen to things that strengthen our new life in Christ.
May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
