Happy New Week everyone,
Yesterday, I wrote on ‘How Confident Are You?’ and I also explained how many people are so confident in the wrong things and have no one telling them. Another concern was that some Sons of God who are meant to be confident on Who they believe are actually no so confident, so what could be wrong? This is what I intend to address today.
To be confident is very much awesome, but being confident in what is right is actually what is extra awesome. As Sons of God, we have the privilege of being confident in what we do because of Who we have confidence in. As Sons of God, we must always understand that it is not about us but about Him—God, because we always think we would get things wrong or get a bad result because of what we do, so we try to dodge listening to the Holy Spirit so that we don’t get to do what we are afraid of doing it.
It is normal to be timid as a human, but when the Holy Spirit lives in you and you allow Him to walk through you, there is this high level of confidence that you get, because you let go yourself and allowed Him to work. Take a look at the disciples of Jesus, who ran away when Jesus was arrested, which made one of them even deny Him, but when they received the Holy Spirit, there was a high level of confidence in them that they allowed the Holy Spirit to function through them, you can see that in the Acts of Apostles.
The truth is that the Holy Spirit doesn’t just work through you until you allow Him to, and you can only allow Him to that if you really know Who He is and His abilities in your life, and most of all when you know that the Holy Spirit is God Himself. To have confidence in a thing or a person is to know what the person is capable of doing in that particular situation, it also shows a high level of trust a person has in the thing or the person, and this is what we are to have in Jesus, and it can only come when you know Him through studying and meditating on His word and allowing the Holy Spirit work through us, this is important. 1 John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” You can only achieve this when you trust and believe in Him [Jesus].
The essence of having confidence in Jesus is for us to express His life through us, thereby making unbelievers develop confidence in Jesus and less on whatever they were holding on to, because in true sense, Jesus is greater than everything that the world is holding on to, you think this isn’t true, then experience Jesus first, then you know why.
May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
