What Does It Mean To Tend The Garden? (Intro)

Hello everyone,

In my last write-up, I wrote that the seventh day in the creation story doesn’t signify God resting as in to take a nap from hard work. Rather, what it means is completeness, nothing more to add. Therefore, God rested in the completeness of His creation, as there was nothing more to add.

I also wrote that the seventh day wasn’t added for God, but Man, which explains what Jesus said in Mark 2:27 which says “And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.” Man was the last creation of God, and he was created to enter into the rest immediately. Everything was sorted out by God for man, all he had to do was to tend the Garden, and not till the ground as man does today.

Hebrews 4:11 says, “So then we must give our all and be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief.” TPT. What does this mean? To till the ground as man does today is an effort to see if he could enter into rest (it is a life of scarcity), the rest which man lost to the devil in the Garden of Eden. But without God being the very life and essence of man’s existence, man would continue to till the ground and not find rest. This life isn’t what man was designed for. His design was to experience rest and tend the Garden. Tilling wasn’t among what God created him for, which is why whether you like it or not, he will never get it right until he lives according to what he was configured for, which is to tend the Garden by living in His rest.

What exactly does tending the Garden mean? And how can it be achieved? Log on to my next write-up where I’d answers these two important question.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
