The Full Package

Hello everyone, how’re you enjoying your Friday? I believe it’s awesome!

I watched an advert on a satellite TV talking about several bouquets, but there’s a bouquet which they say contains the full package, in other words, every station and bonuses they offer are found in this package, nothing is left out. The loved the advert especially because of its comic relief. But there’s something that struck hard in the advert, and it was the word, full package. I’ll tell you why.

I’ve been talking about the born again life and especially how important the Holy Spirit is the life born again person. I studied Matthew 7 from verse 7 to 12, but my focus here is verse 11 which says, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” I was pleased to understand that God who is so merciful is ready to grant us good things, once we ask him. So I could ask him for cars, houses etc. because they’re good things. But Matthew wasn’t clear as to what this good thing Jesus was referring to.

The popular Matthew 7 verse 7-8 was talking about asking, seeking, knocking, verse 8 saying, “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” So it is clear that God wants us to be confident when we ask Him. But as I said earlier, Matthew didn’t explain what God wants to give us which would attend to our needs once and for all. Luke’s account, however, explained Matthew 7 verse 11 better in Luke 11 verse 13 which says, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Matthew says “good things”, but Luke calls those good things “the Holy Spirit” why? Because the Holy Spirit is the full package!

Jesus was trying to tell us that even though we give good things to one another because we care for them, God whose love and care supersedes everyone’s imagination decided to give us Holy Spirit! Which would imply that the Holy Spirit is much greater than anything you could ever think of. The ‘ask, seek, knock’ Jesus spoke of is found in the Holy Spirit why? This is because everything we ever need is found in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit directs us to the desires of our heart, He directs us to the exact thing we need at the right time. What do you have need of, joy, health, wealth, peace of mind, a stress-free life, just name it, are found in the Holy Spirit!

Jesus said in John 14 verse 26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” The Holy Spirit takes you beyond the physical. Are you in need of innovation and insight in whatever thing you do? The Holy Spirit is the One to go to.

Why did God give us the Holy Spirit and why is He the solution to all our problem? It is because God gave us Himself! The Holy Spirit is God Himself, the ‘all knowing’ God. 1 Corinthians 3 verse 16 says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” God decided to live in us as the Holy Spirit. But how do we get the Holy Spirit to live in us, it is by making Jesus leader of your life? This is the key that allows the Holy Spirit access into your life and gives you the most remarkable experience of all time. The Holy Spirit is the true full package.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
