The Devil's Distraction In Our Lives

Happy Weekend everyone,

Yesterday, I wrote on how the devil creates distractions for us so that we would lose focus on Jesus, Whom we are to always fix our eyes on. As Jesus is our perfection, and as we keep on gazing at Him we become perfected in our soul and body, as our spirit is already perfect. We are not to be distracted whatsoever by the devil, as he uses several tricks even that which a times feel is normal, such as trying to figure out the answers to certain questions about our lives. But still, we try to reason these questions out using our physical intellect, and in turn, we don’t focus on Jesus, which is what the devil wants. The truth as I established is that as we keep our focus on Jesus, the more we become perfected and we see our questions being answered, so just focus on Jesus.

Today’s write-up is focused on the distractions from the devil, distractions which we never knew were completely tricks from the devil, and could affect our spiritual growth. Let’s find out this distraction.

What exactly is this distraction? Procrastination! Yes, it is. I’ve written on procrastination before, but not directed at the devil as the evil mastermind behind this scheme.

Procrastination in simple terms according to Cambridge Dictionary online means, “to keep delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring.” Procrastination in many ways come as tricks from the devil. We must understand that the devil doesn’t control us, all that he does is to make suggestions to us, like someone whispering in our ears, advising us on what to do, so, when God who has designed as a perfect plan for us gives us a pattern to follow concerning a thing, the devil comes and asks us to delay that thing. And as we delay, we are intruding into other times where we would have done something else, and we either get what God asked us to do, but at the wrong time, or don’t get it done at all.

The Lord God knows us very well better than we know ourselves, and has arranged what we are to do according to a certain time, as the Lord is very keen on time management, which is why prophecies get manifested at the right time ordained by God in the first place, also why you would see the life of Jesus Whom the scriptures in several cases makes reference Him moving when the time had come, this implies that God knows when we are meant to do certain things, and if we don’t do them we spoil the plan at that time, and we would go back to God to give us another chance, but the devil gets happy when we don’t move at certain points.

When we say we’ll do these things later, especially that which God has ordained us to do, we fall victim of the devil’s plans by procrastinating. Why is this so? It is so because the devil doesn’t want us to follow the plans and purposes of God for our lives, so he makes suggestions to us which would make us consider procrastinating, and if we eventually do, we have fallen victim of the devil’s plans. And the more we procrastinate, it could give room for other things we never bargained for to come our way, such as fear, doubt, and unbelief, all because they were certain things we were to gain by fulfilling God’s will, by doing certain things at a particular time. So, doing those things at the wrong time make us lose focus on Jesus, as we start asking questions, as to why certain things aren’t happening in lives, which makes us fall victim to the devil through fear, doubt, and unbelief.

Don’t be a victim of the devil, do things at the right time, and watch God’s blessings manifest in your life.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
