Happy New Week,
Living a life with God isn’t a life of roses without thorns, it is a life of focus and trust in Christ Jesus, because there are times we go through trials and temptations and these are enough reasons for us to leave our new life in Christ, but when we understand the promises of God and also understand that He is the Truth, we would be strengthened.
We are involved in trials which we cannot run away from, we also face persecutions which are bound to happen. But all these are to strengthen us on Who we stand on—Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:17 says, “Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidity shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).” AMP. We should never take things for granted because when we gave our lives to Christ, we understood that He was going to be our new life, and living our life is by looking unto Jesus, as our role model, which would strengthen us as we live our lives here on earth.
As we stay focused on Christ Jesus, we then understand it is none of us, but all of Him. It is His victory on the cross and His resurrection power which we have received that shows us how to overcome our trials and temptations because Jesus has overcome them already. We just follow His path of victory by being led by the Holy Spirit and not get distracted by whatever the devil brings our way.
So, start this week by working out your salvation in fear and trembling, by being focused on Christ Jesus, and see your challenges as a walk over.
May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
