What Actually Shapes Your Destiny?

Happy new day everyone,

We go to school, get degrees, well even if we don’t go to school, we work really hard in order to achieve greatness in life, right? Hard work or smart thinking is what we think gets us where we want to, or we could say our actions get us where we want to, right? Well let me surprise you, it had never been our degrees or actions that got us to where we are or take us to where we’re going. Well, actions could be but not the physical actions. There is something that gets you anything you want in this life in any way. Yes, I’m sure you all are thinking I’ll say “Jesus is the answer!” well He is but not what I’m referring to today. So log on tomorrow, Nah, just kidding, let me tell what it is.

What do you think gets you your success, your excellence in examinations or even failures in life? Guess what it isn’t because you studied your books diligently that made you get that good grade or you working hard that made you get that good pay or get that promotion. Then what is it? All the while it had been our tongue! Surprise, surprise, our tongue had always been the one that creates and shapes our destiny, what we never knew was that we thought it was our physical effort to things that got us where we were going.

Jesus has done His part by giving us everything we would ever need in our life, but if you don’t use your tongue to speak it into existence, then nothing happens. The Bible says in Ephesians 3:20, “Now to [God] who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. The power to do anything beyond our wildest dreams as the Message version puts it is in us, and only we can activate it, with what? Our tongue!

Our actions are not the cause of our success which is assumed to be the effect of our action. Our declaration over a thing is the cause that creates the effect of you doing that thing that would bring about that success or the outcome in your life. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” We are like Kings (actually we are Kings), whatever we say is a declaration, which is why we need to watch what we say. The Bible again says in Proverbs 4:23, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Why the emphasis on heart, because it is from your heart that you bring out what you intend to say and mean it. The emphasis on heart again implies that the tongue is just the image of what is in the heart.

The truth is that when you intend to come out a success in a particular thing, mean it in your heart and declare it, with time the forces of what you’ve declared brings ideas into your heart on what do that would bring the thing to pass. You think I’m kidding? No, I’m serious, keep declaring a thing and don’t get distracted, if you don’t come out as that what you declared at the right time, there are two things involved. One is that you changed your mind by doubting that thing or this is all a lie. You’re either bringing life into a thing or bringing death into a thing. It is just your tongue which follows your heart. If you think and declare you’re poor then you are poor, if you think and declare you are wealthy, then you are wealthy, as simple as that! Note this, your declaration and what is in your heart MUST correspond, or else you may declare you are wealthy and still kind of doubt it in your heart, it won’t work until they correspond. The same goes for healing, or how else did you think Jesus did it?

Whatever happened to you or is happening to you is just the result of your tongue and you can change it still with your tongue! Don’t get it twisted by saying things and saying you didn’t mean them, every word has its use and if you speak without meaning it, you will give an account of it at the end of time [ref. Matthew 12:36].

How else did God create the universe? With His words! Watch what you say, nothing is impossible unless you say so.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
