There Is One Foundation

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I gave an introduction to what I’m about to talk about today, which why there are several churches carrying different messages, and all claim to follow Jesus.

One thing is very true which is that there must be diversities in the body of Christ, what do I mean? Every member of the body of Christ have a function which is different from others and so it is for every other person. However, bringing everyone together forms a functioning system of Christ in fulfilling what the body is meant to do. To elaborate further, Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 12 said that when we look at the body, can everyone be the eye or can everyone be the ear? This implies that in a body each function of an organ is unique, but the work together to achieve a common goal and are led by the head who is Jesus. But this is different from what I’m talked about at the beginning.

Today, in the body of Christ there is no unity instead you find competition and they claim to serve the same leader. The sad aspect here is that many churches who are diversified are not supposed to do so, what do I mean by this? To know your calling in Christ is to be led by the Holy Spirit, He is the one who would guide you in knowing the directions to take. But today we find many churches birthed out of envy or annoyance by breaking out from the one who ‘discipled’ them; the truth is, many were not called to head a part of the church (typically known as starting a church). It is all these have caused the disunity in the body of Christ, but that’s not all.

Many treat the body of Christ (church) as a common organisation which doesn’t need the leading of the Spirit. They dwell on degrees that are depending on those who are well educated and not the Holy Spirit. So they study the Bible very well, even go to Bible school and believe by doing so they are automatically qualified to head a church (NOTE: there is nothing wrong in going to Bible school). And so they lead a church from their understanding and not the understanding which Christ has ordained, and by doing this, the leader brings up his own idea of things and later you will find out that some who are not comfortable with some idea would break out and start theirs with the same format of where they left and break out continues on and on and on, and there is no unity in the body of Christ.

Today, you find evangelism done by taking people out of a church into theirs rather than go for the lost souls whom Jesus called us to save. This is why the world is chaotic because the children of God has done nothing and also because they cannot agree.

You find teachings based on morality and dogma rather on Christ, this is also an issue today. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:11 which says, “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” Every teaching, anything done under the body of Christ must hold firm to its roots, which is Jesus Christ and not dogma or moral teaching. Dogma and moral teachings can be found in religious settings in any form. So it is clear that Christ called us for something else not to teach morality or philosophy or psychological confusion.
One thing we need to understand is that God is not the author of confusion.
Log on tomorrow as I continue on this topic and clarify the solution to the key issue of why churches cannot be truly unified under Jesus Christ.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
