After Accepting Christ As Lord, What Next?

Hello everyone,

We all at one point heard the good news, the gospel of salvation, how Jesus bore our sins and has given us His righteousness with a brand new life out of sin, all these we would be ours only when we believe in Jesus, because this brand new life, which is eternal life is in Jesus. Now the question is after becoming a body of Christ by accepting Him, what next?

Many of us do not really know why we gave our lives to Christ, why we accepted Him as Lord. Many use this medium to escape hell, these are those who accepted Christ out of fear (no thanks to the preacher “bad” news instead of the good news). Now, what are we supposed to do after being in this new life? Many reading this could be like, “I been a Christian for 35 years, I don’t need this, this is for new converts.” You could be right, but how are you sure you’ve been going the right way all these years? My reason for saying this is that there are many “Christians” in the world who are suffering today which is not right. Please, we should not mix up suffering when the good news is shared with suffering when not having basic needs.

Members of the body of Christ are not meant to lack. Lacking and suffering are two different things (a story for another day). Now, to the main question of today is after accepting Jesus, what next? The first thing you do after accepting Christ as Lord is to know who Jesus truly is complete. The Bible says in John 3:16b, “…that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” So becoming a member of the body of Christ is as simple as believing in Jesus and the good news about Him, but some could have just heard the message as they walked by and decided in their heart to believe Jesus then they confessed Him as Lord and believed in their heart that God raised Him from the dead. All these are just to gain a new life, but do you really know Jesus? This is because, if you truly know Him, you would be Him 100%.

Christ is in us as a result of having a brand new spirit, but we are to keep revealing the Christ in us as we keep meditating on the word and focus on Him alone. When we search the scriptures, we are to look for Jesus in every scripture, not look for things for our selfish interest, because you could use the scriptures wrongly to hurt yourself. Everyone who is in Christ is to know Christ fully because He is now your life! Until you have your mind focused on knowing Him, you won’t be able to really know what God’s mandate for your life here on earth is. Everyone was created on earth to do something, and it is only in Christ that you can find this.

For you to find out what next to do after this, log on tomorrow and I would continue from where I stopped today.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
