We Don't Have Any Authority (Part 2)

Happy Sunday to you all,

Yesterday, I wrote on why we weren’t given the authority of Christ, which is quite different from what I’ve been writing on, saying we have the authority of Christ. But in actual truth, there is no contradiction. To say we have the authority of Christ is to look with the physical eye, but to say we have no authority is to look with the spiritual eye, and what do I mean by that?

We make use of an authority which we believe we got from Christ through faith, but I then took a closer look to further explain that really we were never given any authority. The authority Jesus expresses is the authority of God because He is in Him, you cannot separate Jesus and God; they are the same. The same thing applies to us, for God didn’t look at us and give us His authority. The truth is that the spirit or we could say life we carried could never be one with God. And we know that God didn’t want to wipe man away completely because of the love He has towards us, so He used a different strategy where our soul still remains, but our spirit has to be abolished.

The first Adam caused every other man to be separated from God, but in God rescuing us, He came Himself as a brand new Adam where He could adopt us as His children who we originally were before the fall of the first Adam. We are all under Christ who did an excellent job before God and we are all bound by one spirit.

Now since our old spirit has been abolished, we got a brand new spirit which is the spirit of Christ that is, the spirit of God! This is why 1 John 3:9 says, “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for [God’s] seed remains in him; and he cannot sin because he has been born of God.”

Let us get this straight, we are living not by our own making, but by the life Christ which is the life of God. This is also why Romans 8:16-17 says, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” Being joint heirs would mean both Jesus Christ and us, get 100% which doesn’t spell the presence of two parties but one! This implies that both Christ and we, are one entity and inseparable.

The reason we really don’t get to use this authority properly is that we are still conscious of our old nature, the old spirit which is the spirit of sin, the spirit of self. So, we still have it at the back of our mind that it is by our effort we got this authority, or if we don’t want to admit that, we sometimes feel the authority could be taken away from us, all these which are the lies of the devil.

Once you recognise who owns the power in your hands, which doesn’t have an expiration date and see Him and not yourself taking charge, then you see the authority of Christ at work. When you want to make use of the authority, picture Christ as yourself, when you get the full understanding that Christ never declares anything without it coming to pass, then you know that what you declare it as Christ declaring it, which actually is, because in the spirit realm it is Christ they see and not you because you are dead but Christ is alive in you!

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
