We speak words out of our mouth, that which we use in communication. We haven’t actually sat down to think about the verb ‘communicate’. The communication I’m talking about means ‘to transmit information; to transmit thoughts or feelings; be in verbal contact; interchange information or ideas; join or connect; transfer to another. So, when we speak, we bring any of the following stated above to play. I’ll repeat that again, when we speak, that is, bring words out of our mouth, we do any of the following meaning of the verb ‘communicate’ stated above to pass.
Why do I keep emphasising the verb ‘communicate’? I’m doing so, because our words are powerful that bring things to pass; our words either develop or destroy. Just as King Solomon said, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” [Proverbs 18:21]. So, why am I saying this again? When we speak either causing death or life on a thing.
If you remember when Jesus was hungry and He saw a fig tree ahead, expecting to see figs on it and found out there was nothing, what did Jesus do? He spoke to the tree saying, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” [Mark 11:14]. Just as He said it, the tree died and the effect was seen the next day. There is power in our words and this is active in every human, but is very active and powerful in the mouth of every Believer, because we make use of the power of Christ who has authority over the heaven, earth and under the earth. So, the question is why isn’t my life reflecting the life Christ wants me to live? Check again, you’ve been mixing death and life in your life! That’s why you aren’t seeing the transformation you’ve always expected.
We need to be very careful how we speak; King Solomon said, “Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it springs the issues of life” [Proverbs 4:23]. The heart determines what we say as Jesus when speaking with the Pharisees said, “Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement. For by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned.” [Matthew 12:34-37].
Our words make and create, it comes from our heart; and God would judge every word even the idle words that we felt didn’t count, we would give an account of our words. But, how do we watch our heart, allowing the right words come out of our mouth? Log on next time.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
