Beyond The Five Senses

Man was created with five senses; the sense of sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell. Every discovery and theory of man falls within these five senses of ours. But have you ever thought of the fact that there could be other senses outside these five senses? Yep, to say man has five senses would imply that his thinking and reasoning faculties are limited to five senses alone. Won’t it be dangerous to live a life limited to only five senses; what if something happens beyond our five senses and it is something that is important to our existence? The fact thing is that we won’t be able to perceive it in the first place.

Man has tried to combat his problem through the creation of theories, but have you noticed that the application of these theories has brought about an even greater problem. It is only clear that that the reason why this keep happening is because man is limited to five senses; allow me to elaborate. Let’s assume we have all the senses but the sense of touch; that means I have the sense of sight, hearing, taste and smell. Now do you think our scientists would have been able to understand what heat or cold is? No, because they lack the sense of touch, so if anyone who has the sense of touch explains what heat and cold is, that person would sound silly. But it doesn’t deny the fact that the sense of touch exists, right? Right.

The bible says in Romans 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”. The term “carnally minded” implies the use of the five senses; if living with the five senses is death, it would imply there is another way we can live without taking judgment from the five senses; Romans 8:6 calls this new life a spiritually minded life, which gives life and peace, and you can only get this life through living by faith. Habakkuk 2:4b says, “…the righteous will live by his faith [in the true God] AMP. So, how is it possible to live by faith and not with the five senses?

To live spiritually, which is living the life of faith outside the use of ones five senses is the connection of a sixth sense. This sixth sense is the sense of Christ which surpasses all knowledge and understanding. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” AMP. In order to access this new dispensation of life, there is the need to know Christ who is the owner of this sense and has gotten a perfect score on everything we would ever face in life. [ref. Hebrews 4:15-16].

The question now would be, why do we need this sixth sense, why is it so important for us to have it and how can we use it?

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
