The Benefits of Humility

Several times we’ve heard a lot about humility being a good moral virtue, but humility is actually beyond just a good moral virtue; it is a path way to greatness and power. However, many people don’t know the importance of humility.

Let’s take a look at Mr. A and Mr. B who had a deep misunderstanding. Mr. A was the true cause of the misunderstanding and Mr. B on the other hand wanted an apology which Mr. A refused to give; he also refused to admit he was at fault. However, Mr. B decided to apologise even though he wasn’t at fault; this ended the quarrel. The power to do this is humility even when it isn’t easy. This act didn’t only strengthen Mr. B, but it also strengthened Mr. A, of whom the apology was made to. What Mr. B might not know is that he earned more respect from Mr. A than before! This is a sense of maturity.

In the bible, to allow God into your life, thus dropping everything and following His will is the highest form of humility you could offer, because the bible says. “Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.  1 Peter 5:6-7 AMP.

When you allow God to take charge of your life, you do things you knew you wouldn’t have been able to do before, if not for the grace and the strength given to you by God. When you see the life of Jesus, you see humility, the bible says, “And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name...” Philippians 2:8-9 AMP. God gave Jesus the name that is above every other name. This happens to us when we do what the scriptures say in 1 Peter 5:6-7.

As a believer, having challenges and claiming you can take charge of it by yourself won’t take the problem away, it would only worsen it. This is why you see a believer who is poor and the poverty doesn’t seem to get any better. It is pride that is in your way, nothing else! Some believers feel it is wrong for believers to have great wealth, so they decide to remain contented with their level. Others feel when they have health issues it is normal. This is pride and not humility!

God doesn’t make anyone poor or sick or have challenges. The moment we face any challenge it is the moment where we look up to God and cast our problems on Him [ref. 1 Peter 5:7], this is the humility God expects from you. As you allow Him to take charge you see all your challenges fade away gradually and miracles start happening. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls." Matthew 11:28-29 AMP. This is the life God wants for us, and it's all because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Be Careful For The Wiles Of The Devil (2)

Yesterday, I wrote on being careful for the wiles of the devil. I explained how we could overcome the devil by using the armour of God, according to Ephesians 6. However, it doesn’t happen all of a sudden that we just make use of the armour of God just like that. We need to properly understand how the sly the devil is and how we shouldn’t be caught unaware of his moves.

There is just one thing we need to understand about the devil. The devil ones coveted the throne of God, of course he couldn’t dethrone God. So he said he would be like the most high. What we have to understand is that even though he has been banished from heaven into eternal damnation, he still wants to be like the most high. The question now is to understand the glory of The Most High GOD which would make us know exactly what the devil wants.

When you read the book of Isaiah 14:13-14, you will find the key things the devil coveted from God. “For you said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.” These things were what Lucifer (later the devil) saw that God had control of. So, my point here is that the devil still wants everything God is getting such as praises, glory, dominance, and so on. So if that’s the case what do you think the devil would do to achieve this? He would imitate God, but of course being a semblance doesn’t mean it is the real thing.

This is why as someone put, “Satan is not fighting churches; he is joining them. He does more harm by sowing tares than by pulling up wheat. He accomplishes more by imitation than by outright opposition.” Satan is a wolf in sheep clothing, he lures righteous people to the wrong way as he twists the scriptures and if you are not careful, you could fall prey. He attacks our thoughts in order for us to confess the wrong things. For instance, as Christ is our Lord of all, He is our protector and shield, however, we have the power to leave His protection or do any other thing because of our free moral agency.

Now as the devil knows that we are protected by Jesus and can’t touch us, the devil sends a false feeling, take for example a headache. As we are under Christ’s protection, we cannot be attacked, once we remember that, we are to cancel any false stand against our solid stand in Christ through the word of God which would dissolve the headache because it isn’t real. But the sad news is that, many of us would confess, ‘I have headache’ and once that is said, the headache becomes a real headache, just because of our confession.

What does this mean? It means that we are only to confess only on what is true, just as Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.”

Your Doctor’s report saying you have cancer is not true neither is it good report; your bank saying you have financial deficit isn’t lovely at all. I could go on and on. The point is all these things may appear so real to you, but it is either the word of God is lying or the world is, the answer is left to you. You have to be convicted by something, because you can’t sit on the fence! If you’re are for Christ, then go all out and accept His fully, and not partially. If He has said He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings, then why do we think we are poor? All these falsehood is from the devil!

What we don’t understand is that just as the bible says in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Without faith we can’t please God, and to have faith in God we have to believe in His existence first. Faith and belief pleases God and this is what the devil wants, it is either you believe God or the devil. And the devil wants us to believe him, which is in line with his quest for power.

As I said yesterday, if we don’t regularly study and meditate on the scriptures which contains Philippians 4:8, then we could easily be deceived by the devil. A sparkling white shirt and an off white shirt could both be white shirts but they’re not the same. Be careful for the wiles of the devil by focusing on the word of God and not the word of the world. The moment you receive any news that doesn’t correspond with where you are right now in Christ, start to confess who are so that what is not of Christ would not dwell in your mind and becomes a fact. Remember the devil is the father of lies, there is no truth in him.

Be Careful For The Wiles Of The Devil

There is no doubt that when you humble yourself before the Lord He would lift you up in due season thus, casting your entire burden upon Him because of God cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 says this but verses 8 and 9 say, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” KJV. You are expected to resist the devil in faith by being careful of the devil wiles. But to do this you need to be equipped.

Ephesians 6 talks about the whole armour of God and the whole armour include: loin girt of truth; the breastplate of righteousness; feet shod of the gospel of peace; the shield of faith; helmet of salvation; and the sword of the spirit. All these can be achieved by being humble before the Lord who in turn empowers you on how to interpret the scriptures properly.

Every part of the armour are the privileges we after becoming Believers, but we need to develop ourselves through the meditation of the scriptures day and night which would in turn strengthen our use of the whole armour of God and eventually not fall for the wiles of the devil.

When you are close to God through the regular study and meditation of the scriptures through the leading of the Holy Spirit you can’t be deceived by the devil, because if it’s not of God, it can’t be God.
Things become straight forward with God when you meditate on the word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit and as you grow you won’t fall for the wiles of the devil. It’s all because of God’s love for us and this is the gospel truth.

A Life Full of Luxury

The world is a place full of struggle and those born believe the world was meant to be like this, but NO! The world wasn’t like this at the beginning. Believers live a luxury full life, but don’t get me wrong, we have work to do. When I say luxury, I mean we don’t go through the stress of thinking; we just dwell in the presence of God and we follow His directions, as simple as ABC.

In the world, there are times when we face challenges, maybe an economic problem, it would be a normal thing for the best economists to proffer a solution using their theories, sweating until they arrive at a breakthrough. But on the other hand Believers get steps to follow in order to arrive at the final solution to the problem. So, we follow steps from the Holy Spirit. God told Isaac to remain in the land where he was during a famine while others ran to Egypt, and guess what happened? He prospered! [ref. Genesis 26:1-12].

Joseph is another man who didn’t allow his circumstances take over his life. He believed in God and because of that when Egypt had a severe famine, God used Him to save the world [ref. Genesis 41]. God knows the end from the beginning but we can’t see beyond our noses. So, why not trust the ‘all knowing’ God to give you a luxury full life. He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings. Jesus said, the Lord God knows everything we have need of.

Know the Son of who you are and stop giving yourself unnecessary stress by following the sad trend of the world. But prosperity and favour is from the Lord. All these are because of the love Jesus has for us and this is the gospel truth.

Really, What Is The Will of God?

What is the will of God? This is a question that comes to everyone’s mind especially believers. Well, if you want a straight forward answer, we could take a look at 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 which says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Three things were stated in the scripture read which are: 1. Rejoice always, 2. Pray without ceasing, and 3; in everything give thanks. It sounds very simple right? Yes it does, but no one just wakes up in the morning and rejoices always or prays without ceasing or gives thanks in everything. There must have been a propelling factor that caused these three to exist in the first place. What is this factor?

Romans 12:1 and 2, explains this. It says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” These verses make 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 clearer and how can it be achieved.

One has to first of all present his body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. When this is done, there is the need to be transformed by the renewal of the mind which would make one not to conform to the patterns of the world. The minds renewal would lead the person to PROVE what the good, perfect and acceptable WILL of God is for one’s life. But again, how can one just present his body as a living sacrifice to God?

In order to present yourself as a living sacrifice, it has to do with you and what you stand for. According to Galatians 2:20 from the Amplified version, it says, “I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” This implies that once you’ve accepted Jesus as LORD and owner of your life, you are supposed to know that it is because of what Jesus did on the cross, thus He taking your place and through His resurrection that you are saved. (NOTE: IF YOU WEREN’T TOLD THIS, FIND A BELIEVER TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU). Now after this, you are expected to adhere to, rely on and have complete trust in JESUS with the Holy Spirit in you whom God has sent, Who is now your life [ref. Colossians 3:4].

Now when this happens, the Holy Spirit enables and strengthen you to present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Then you get transformed by the renewal of your mind through the study of the Word of God, (ref. 2nd Timothy 2:15). With this, the Holy Spirit who is in your counsellor explains or interprets what the Word studied means, thus allowing the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart become acceptable to God. And diligent thought on His Word, naturally you then prove what the good and acceptable and perfect will of God is.

This is a vivid look at what really leads to knowing the will of God. The truth here is that all these stated above (1st Thessalonians 5:16-18) happens within split seconds, but it still appears technical right? It could be, but if you really want something, you have to be disciplined and diligent, and see the result hit you like a bomb.

To Live And Not Just Exist

Hmmmmn… you’re born, you go through primary, secondary school and then you go to the university. You get a good job, later acquire wealth probably through investment; you get married, have children, grow old, retire, have grandchildren probably have great grandchildren and then go and see the Lord. This looks like a great life right? But is this what you were born for; to just repeat a routine of life and die? Nothing has been added!

Even if you choose to go to church and read the bible regularly but end up following the same sequence of life you just existed, that’s all. Now don’t get me wrong, going to school is wonderful; of course if you didn’t school, you probably won’t know how to read, not to talk of writing. These however are the basic things to be learnt. My point here is for you to know the reason for your existence here on earth. There is reason for your existence and it defers from another person. The real reason for your existence is not a routine created by man.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.” (Message). Ok, so our attitude is expected to reflect godliness, but let’s further look at the verses ahead, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and [aa] recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 AMP).

Our being salt and light is to reflect Jesus. As Jesus said He is the light of the world and those who follow Him shall have the light of life [ref. John 8:12]. This light is the same light as that of Matthew 5, we are to reflect Him. What this implies is that when we accept Jesus as Lord and have received the Holy Spirit, after this the mystery about our life is then revealed as we remain in Him [ref. Colossians 1:27]. We are to live the will of God for our lives and it can only be gotten in Jesus Christ.

So, how can we do this? The bible makes us understand that Christ is our life [ref. Colossians 3:4]. Therefore, our life itself should be Jesus personified every second of our life; that is, being led by the Holy Spirit, whether at school, work or anywhere. People should notice the difference in the way you do things, and how successful you are, always portraying the fruit of the Spirit and would cause them to ask what you do differently from others just as I said yesterday; this is when you tell them how Jesus gave you a new life and He being your direction. This would cause them to praise God in heaven for such Grace He has given to men.

Your life should not be a rigid, religious way of doing things, like living your life of the law and living Jesus’ life of Grace. You can’t mix the two; Christ is your life, you are breathing Him! We are here on a mission which of course would imply that we as Believers shouldn’t live the general life, because there is a specific life God has called you for, and this requires deep commitment to your calling in Christ by not being distracted.

The Image of Christ

We all have a lifestyle to which we are known for, to the point where if something different from what you are known for, your parents or those close to you would quickly say, “nope, that’s not my son”. How did they know that? It’s not what they know you for; your attitude is very important! This is different from a movie scene involving you. The role you pick is not you; this is similar to religion. For religion, you are just acting a script that is not you. But the believer is expected to have the lifestyle of Christ.

The believers’ life is not a life of pretence but an expression of their true self which is the life of Christ. This is an important aspect for the believer because many times we pick dates for evangelism in our church groups and we think it is until have an official outing that we get people converted to Christ. This is not entirely so; it is your lifestyle that is the most important aspect of evangelism. This is called: living the gospel.

People use your life as a yardstick how your gospel affected your life in a way that encourages them to listen in the first place, which would later make them accept Jesus as their Lord. The life of a Believer is meant to be an exemplary one; take being prosperous for instance, as you live the life of Christ, people come and ask you what you do that makes you so prosperous. This is when you tell people about Jesus and how He has transformed your life. People like to see things first hand before they go for it or not. You are to become the living the Word and after that share it. Your lifestyle draws people to Christ even without saying a word, just as the scripture says in 2 Corinthians 3:3, “Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.”

The life of Jesus was a natural lifestyle of God that when He spoke people wondered how He had such great knowledge of God, His lifestyle drew people to Him. This was the same for the early believers and that’s why they were called Christians [ref. Acts 11:26]. Going for evangelism is wonderful but what you are talking about is expected to be your life. God put His nature in the heart of the believer, that’s why we are to act just like Him [Hebrews 8:10-11]. God made things so easy for us because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Mystery, Not History (2)

Yesterday, we looked at the level to which Christians are to determine the present, and that is through the use of mystery. As was said, man makes use of past events to determine the present, Christians are to use the future to determine the present. Using the future is by bringing to the fore what hasn't happened before. But actually, the truth is that it had happened, but not in this realm. Why do I say this?

When you accept Christ as Lord of all, you receive His Spirit. To function in this Spirit, which is the Holy Spirit, you need to have believed in Christ and all that He has offered without questioning; this is a mystery which GOD/CHRIST uses. But the point I want you to know is who the mystery is. As we all know the popular verse of scripture in Hebrews 11:1 and 3 which says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen… By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

The only way to live faith which is a life of mystery is a life of creativity, which no man has ever seen before. In a life of faith, nothing is impossible because impossibility comes from things which doesn’t have any link with what have been discovered. However, it is important you know who the mystery is, because, the mystery is a person; the one behind all these things about knowing the future beforehand.

Colossians 1:26&27 explains who the mystery is. This mystery was hidden from both angels and men for ages and generations, but is now revealed to GOD'S Holy people. Now, who are GOD'S Holy people? They are those who have accepted JESUS as LORD of their lives and has received a brand new Spirit which would enable them to have the mind of CHRIST (1 Corinthians 2:16). The mind of Christ is the mind of God, who knows the end from the beginning. So, when God His things, He doesn’t do them as a guess work, He creates things, He determines the solution of problems without using past discoveries.

As Hebrews 11:3 said that the things which are seen were created from the things which were not made visible to man, things never seen before. This is why when healing, miracles or supernatural abilities happen, they appear surprisingly new because, man expects it to rationally determined; and that which is rationally determined is that which has been seen before. Walking on water wasn’t seen before it happened neither were other supernatural activities. But once you have the mind of Christ, you operate as God does, who calls things that not as though they were [ref. Romans 4:17].

Having the mind of CHRIST enables you to operate like HIM because CHRIST is the mystery, as it is said in Colossians 1:27 which says "...Christ in you, the hope of glory." The power in Believers is the same power that was given to JESUS by GOD when HE rose from the grave (Philippians 2:9&10). This is the authority we use when call things forth from future.

Now when I say future, it is something that has existed by faith before it coming to pass. If you rely on the way of man in the way they reason, you will never understand nor operate in the way of God. The way of God is not the way of man, so it has nothing to do with reason, but it has everything to do with belief, trust, following simple instructions, that’s all. And you will see how you always have the right answers to every question. Ever wondered how Jesus got every question right? It was with following mystery and not history.

Mystery, Not History

I'm a person who loves cartoons a lot, well... logical ones. Why am I saying this? I watched a cartoon some time ago and an elderly man said something striking. He said "yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, but today is a gift that is why it is called present". When I saw this, I marvelled; after this, I got a revelation from GOD about this quote and this revelation is what I want to share with you.

There are things that limit the decisions of man; I call this, risk taking, but man believes otherwise. Why am I saying this? When man concludes on a thing, he uses the theory of the past to decide what would happen in the present; an example to this is water. Now because two molecules of hydrogen and one molecule of oxygen gave water last year, last month, last week, yesterday, one could then conclude that the result of two molecules of hydrogen and one molecule of oxygen will be water today. This is what I still call risk taking.

In everything of life, man bases his theories on what has happened earlier (laws of thermodynamics, law of gravity etc.). For me this is risky, this implies that man bases his theories on history or experience, which can't determine the future but can assume the future. This way of life is wrong, and once you conclude that this is the only way of doing things, then you can't understand how GOD works; this is because GOD doesn't use history, instead HE uses mystery. Take a look at all the miracles in the Bible from Genesis one to the parting of the red sea, the destruction of the wall of Jericho, the feeding of the five thousand, the raising of Lazarus, JESUS walking on water etc. All these denied the theories created by man, therefore denying the use of historical theorems.

When you walk with GOD always expect the unexpected. But as Believers we are supposed to know and understand these mysteries because the Bible says the things that have been a mystery to man have been revealed to us through the Holy Spirit [ref. 1 Corinthians 2:10]. The things of GOD are full of mysteries, but we have CHRIST in us and also have HIS mind that is why we perform mysterious things when doing things.

In line with languages, speaking in tongues is referred to as speaking mysteries according to 1 Corinthians 14:2, this is why when we pray to GOD, we could be weak when we pray based our five senses, but as Romans 8:26 says "likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God". Tongues are mysteries bringing the unknown to the present. In other words, acting like GOD.

Furthermore, with the proper understanding of this, we now know why faith is very important in the Christian life; that is "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence not seen" [ref. Hebrews 11:1]. The substance hoped for is mystery to man, but not to Believers. So in other words, we are to bring things to pass from mystery, the things man hasn’t experienced before. This is why man cannot understand miracles or the ways of GOD.

Believers are meant to be unique and easily identified because we are to live by faith and not depending on the historic theory of man before things are done. Man uses history to determine the present but Believers through the Holy Spirit use mysteries to determine the present.

How To Receive God's Direction [reviewed]

As we battle along as believers in faith, we need to be thoroughly equipped. This is because the devil is thoroughly equipped himself! But one thing is certain; he can’t defeat a thoroughly equipped believer. So, how can we be thoroughly equipped? Through the Word! (the bible); believers receive directions from the Holy Spirit in different ways such as, hearing Him directly; through dreams, vision, circumstances and so on, but with all these, they are all secondary to the major source of direction gotten from God Himself. The major source of direction from God is the Word of God (the bible).

As we believe in the Holy Spirit, He doesn’t communicate with us when we haven’t first studied the Word of God first; that is why Jesus calls Him our helper [ref. John 14:15-18; 16:5-15], what is He to help us with? As I said earlier, to interpret the Word of God correctly, guiding us into all truth.

We must note the fact that the secondary sources, that is, the means at which the Holy Spirit communicates with us MUST correspond with the Word of God and not the other way round. This is because when you study and meditate on the Word, the secondary sources then explains what you studied for clarity in living our daily lives. So, in simple terms, the Holy Spirit look up to the Word of God when interpreting to us.

In order to get the Holy Spirit to direct you, you have to be hungry for the Word of God. It has to appear as a do or die affair, making up your mind that the Word of God is the only way to follow. Now this is not being dogmatic; to be dogmatic implies that there are standards on the same level and you decided to pick one and hold on to it completely without seeing why the other are not worth it. However, when one chooses to take the Word of God as the only way, the person must have observed that the Word of God is not like other theories, it is a living Word which refreshes ones being and doesn’t base its standard on experiences, observation, theories, but it is the guiding principle every other written word tries to follow or become. And most of all the person must understand that the Word of God is person (as I stated earlier as a living Word), who is Jesus Christ!

I really don’t want to dive into another topic but as the scriptures says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17. We live our lives by faith, and this faith is not our faith, but the faith of Jesus Christ [ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17], so if you really hunger for the direction from God through the Holy Spirit, study the person who keeps you going, the Word who is Jesus. As you hunger to know Him because He is your life [ref. Colossians 3:4], then the rest is easy, getting directions from the Holy Spirit is piece of cake. But you have to be very observant because God has a way He communicates to you and you have to know that so that you don’t mix it up with the voice of the devil, because he speaks too!

When we allow the Holy Spirit bring out the clarity of the Word, we become like person in Psalm 1; of whom whatever he does prospers. Now, prosperity also includes; not falling for the temptation of the devil [ref. 1 Corinthians 10:13]; the Holy Spirit guides us as we live our daily lives. Can’t you see how easy things are? And this is because of the love God has for us and this is the gospel truth.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

There Is A Lasting Solution [reviewed]

It is quite normal to follow the trend of things around you; this is because it was what you met when you were born. But in an earlier blog I explained that the trend of the world is not its original design. In Genesis God told Adam to tend the garden and He made him in charge of the earth [ref. Genesis 2:15]. God had always given man authority over the earth; so, if God wants something done on earth, he has to go through man because He doesn’t go against His words.

Now, as God designed the earth, He definitely has a plan for us. The point is that the world has decided to do things by themselves. In the beginning, God asked Adam to tend the garden [ref. Genesis 2:15], but when Adam was moved out of the garden after being deceived by the devil, which made him disobey God, Adam decided to till the ground which is different from what God told Adam from the beginning [ref. Genesis 3:23]; this is how the world has been existing and that’s how the world lives today.

Man likes to observe new things that would lead to the creation of solutions to problems faced by mankind. However, even with all these, there is a standard of solution which is of the highest level which God has provided for humanity. Believers are expected to live within the plans of God so that Man would see the awesome power and love of God towards humanity and would want to join in the plans of God for their lives. But this is really not happening as it is supposed to. Why? This is because the Believers are not getting some things right and what could this be the cause? It is a lack of a proper relationship with God!

Some Believers have turned Christianity into religion. The world struggles to get anything done; this started from Adam who tilled the ground in order to survive; Jesus came to change this [ref. John 3:16]. So as Believers increase, they are expected to be examples, living the real plan of God. But some Believers pray to God and don’t listen for His direction. Christianity is a relationship which involves God and man, so, when the Believers are not following God’s exact direction they don’t do anything spectacular that makes the world change their ways to follow the plans of God.

It is also quite sad that when the Believers don’t get the transformation that they expect, they join the struggle of the world by deceiving themselves to be under the umbrella of Christ; as a result of this, there is no difference between the Believers and the world except knowing that they go to church! But when they understand Christianity is a relationship they would follow the very steps of Christ, portray the very nature of Christ which is living the plans of God for their lives; with this a unique life is lived by Believers and people of the world would see that the plans of God is the best and they would decide to follow Christ [ref. Matthew 5:13-16].

The Bible says in Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.” AMPC. King David also said in Psalm 37:23-25, “The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him. I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the [uncompromisingly] righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread.” AMPC.

Believers are expected to be the change the world; they are to bring up new ideas which leads to lasting solutions needed. You then see breakthroughs in several fields and so on, just because they follow the God who knows all things and knows the end from the beginning. It’s all because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

A Closer Look At Look Faith [reviewed]

From a concordance of New King James Version of the bible published by Thomas Nelson, it says faith is the “Belief or trust in someone or something. Among Christians, belief in the Holy Trinity.” When I saw this definition of faith, I liked it because for faith is all about trust, but this trust is not on what someone will do but on what someone has done! Many times what people call faith is actually hope and we don’t know that. The moment you put a thing in the future tense, it becomes hope, but when you put it in the past that affects the present, it becomes faith.

The bible makes us understand that Man is justified by faith [ref. Romans 3:28; 5:1; Galatians 2:16; 3:24]. This is because faith is accounted for righteousness [ref. Romans 4:5]; we should also remember that we are saved through faith, and faith without works is dead [ref. Ephesians 2:8; James 2:20].

In understanding that faith without works is dead, we should know that a person’s action is expected to depict the thing he believes or trust in, in other words, when you trust a thing or person and you don’t act in line with what you believe in, then your claim of belief is not true or as Apostle James puts, it is dead.

Sin was seen in the old testament as failure to do what the law says, and this was based on the work of man (the contextual use of the word work written here is different from the work of faith used by Apostle James in James 2:20). But in the New Testament whatever is not from faith is SIN [ref. Romans 14:23], because without faith it is impossible to please God [ref. Hebrews 11:6], it could also mean without trust in God, you can’t please Him and it is by faith that we believe in Jesus and become believers [John 3:16; Romans 10:9].

We are to believe in Jesus Christ totally and confess it with our mouth according to Romans 10:9. If what is confessed is true and you believe in your heart, then it would imply that your actions would fall in line with what you believe. The very act of a sincere confession and belief by mouth and heart implies faith and would imply that every action you take is based on FAITH in CHRIST. Anything contrary to this is an operation from the old nature of sin.

The point here is there can’t be faith if we can’t see the grace of God in our lives. The grace of God is not a thing we see with our physical five senses, although our belief in the grace through faith causes it to reflect in our daily lives. God has done it all through Christ, there is nothing you need that God hasn’t provided for us [ref. Matthew 6:32].

Many of us still find it hard to have faith despite all the explanation made because they look at their flaws by looking at their past mistakes; thus identifying where they missed it and dwell on it. They look around them and cannot see anything that would fit in to what they claim to believe. The truth here is every physical manifestation of faith through the Grace of God is a fruit of what you’ve been focusing on as I explained yesterday.

Your focus on the Grace of God is a seed; to believe in the Grace is faith, which is, planting the seed. Then all you need to do is to believe that you have the physical manifestation of Grace given to you [ref. Hebrews 11:1], this could be seen as watering and taking care of the seed planted which has started to grow into a tree; this comes by the meditation on the Word of God with all diligence.

It is only when you see the Grace as real that is you hope coming alive through faith that you would see the physical manifestation which everyone would see. You must understand that nothing comes by accident, your wealth is all as a result of the truth that you saw it as real even before it came to pass. In other words, you are not to rejoice over a breakthrough when it manifests physically, but the moment you see it as real. Actually nothing will manifest if you don’t see it as real.

Again I would say that you cannot sit on the fence, you must believe a thing, either you believe what God says about you or you doubt what God says about you. The truth is either way, you bring what you believe to pass, which is the fruit of the tree you planted. And God has saved you the stress by doing everything for you, all you have to do is just to rest in Him [ref. Hebrews 4:1-10].

Proverbs 16:3 says, “Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.” AMPC. This is just one of the few verses in the Bible which spells out that you just need to hand over everything to God and He would take care of you. Study to know about His Grace for and see how it corresponds with your hope, believe in the Grace He has offered you and see your life get transformed, which is the result of a closer look at faith.

Only See What You Need [reviewed]

Have you noticed that you cannot focus on more than one thing at a time? What do I mean? You can see everything, but you can only focus on just one thing; you can hear everything, but you can only listen to one thing at a time, the same goes with our other senses.

Humans are people who focus on things but as I said we cannot focus on more than one thing at a time. In other words there is no way we can focus on all the things we want simultaneously; you must forfeit one for the other. This also affects our judgement and conclusion. Still, we must understand what we intend to happen to us has a lot to do with what we see and say. So, if you believe you are blessed, see yourself blessed and not otherwise. Our thoughts have a force that shouts what we want without saying it. If you say you are blessed, and in your mind you say otherwise, it is that which your mind says that is established.

Jesus was hungry at a point and went to a fig tree expecting to see fruits on it, but He didn’t see any; He spoke to the tree saying no one would ever eat of the tree again and walked away. Jesus saw the tree dead in His mind that’s why when He took the same path the next day, He didn’t bother looking at the tree, but His disciples who had double minds checked if what Jesus said came to pass and it did! [ref. Mark 11:12-14; 11:20-21]. Why? Jesus didn’t have a double mind. His disciples wondered how He did it and He explained to them saying, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:22b-23. Only see what you want.

Again, Peter the Apostle wanted to walk on water when Jesus called him, so what he saw was seeing himself walking on water till he changed what he saw, that was focusing on the wind and wave, that was what made him sink till Jesus came to the rescue [ref. Matthew 14:22-33]. What Jesus asked was, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:31. What you want is the only thing you see!

To see what you need is to see what God wants us to have; it’s an act of faith. He did this to Joshua when the children of Israel were to destroy the wall of Jericho, God told Joshua, “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.” Joshua 6:2. But Jericho was still standing! God wanted Joshua to see only what they wanted, if they had changed their focus from seeing Jericho destroyed, Jericho wouldn’t have been destroyed.

You must bring your imagination to life, because imagination is basically the power of hope; and once hope is alive it helps to connect in bringing to live what you hoped through faith. If you can’t see it happening, it will never happen.

The physical manifestation of things is only the fruit of what you’ve been focusing on, that is what you’ve seen as real even before its physical manifestation. No matter the situation you are going through, you must stay focused on what you want. The moment you shift focus to another place of rest, you get the last thing you focused on. So focus on what you need.

The grace God has given us have to be seen every second of our lives because God has given us everything we would ever need; it’s all because of His love for us.

The Difference Between Reformation and Transformation

Many times we would have heard your leaders use the words ‘reform’ and ‘transform’. These words most times are used when it has to do with development. But what do these words really mean? According to my dictionary, the word ‘reformation means “Improvement (or an intended improvement) in the existing form or condition of institutions or practices etc.”; the word ‘transformation’ on the other hand means, “The act of changing in form or shape or appearance”. The former has to do with improving on what exist, while the latter has to do with a complete change of a thing, or I could say a recreation of a thing. Now you know the difference, the end. Wait! There’s a reason why this is so important and I want you to keep reading.

There’s a story of a chicken who had a dream of being an eagle; this chicken admired an eagle that stayed not far from it. The chicken was ready to anything to become an eagle, so this chicken summoned courage and went to meet the eagle [yea, how did the chicken climb so high? Joke, keep reading, there’s a message]; the chicken met the eagle and told the eagle he wanted to be an eagle needs to know all what it would take. The eagle told the chicken everything, but the sad thing was that the chicken followed every instruction given to him by the eagle to the letter, but he could act as the eagle. He tried for months and months, but no breakthrough; it was then that the chicken went to visit the eagle and told the eagle he had tried everything he gave him but there was no breakthrough.

The eagle then told the chicken, “The reason why you can never be like me is because you are a chicken and I am an eagle. It is my nature to act like an eagle while it is your nature to act like a chicken. There is nothing you can do, just live your life as a chicken”. This scripturally was how man lived under the first covenant; they did all they could to live the life of God, to please Him. This is called reformation, when you try to improve yourself but aren’t different. With all these man couldn’t naturally be like God, because our nature wasn’t of God and there was nothing we could do about it. Wait stop, there was something we could do to live the life of God as our nature, how?

Now this story is slightly different; an eagle egg was placed along slide with chicken egg; the eagle egg hatched about the same time with the chicken egg. Now because the eagle kept seeing chicken around it, it would keep behaving like a chicken, that isn’t its nature. Until the eagle gets to know who it is and its abilities, it would forever behave as a chicken.

Many of us are like the eagle without knowing who what it is capable of. In fact the moment you accept Christ as Lord by being born again, we become just like the eagle without knowing its abilities. The question now is how are we to determine who we are? It through the diligent meditation of the Word of God. The bible says in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]” AMPC.

The Word of God tells who we are in Christ, the Word explains how we are different from the way and standard of the world, just like explaining how the eagle’s life is different from the life of the chicken. The Word is a mirror which reflects our new nature, showing us that we are “Christ’s” in the flesh and not just mere human beings. So, knowing who we really are is the transformation I was talking about. We died and was buried, but when we came back to life, it wasn’t us, it was someone completely new, never seen before [ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17].

This time around, we won’t be like man under the old covenant who didn’t have the nature of God, this time around our new self has the nature of God inbuilt [ref. Hebrews 8:10-12]. Understand that you are completely different. The only reason why you still act the way you were acting before you became born again is simple, you don’t know who you are. That is why the moment you get born again, God has ordained some leader (Pastors, Prophets, Evangelist, Teachers, Apostles] who would equip you Spiritually, making you understand who you are in Christ, in order for you to have a firm grip of the Word of God and having a strong foundation Christ where you can’t be tossed to and fro [ref. Ephesians 4:11-16].

As you are transformed, you need to keep studying and meditating on the Word, so as to keep growing, knowing who you are [ref. 2 Peter 3:18]. Once you stop you go back to your comfort zone of the chicken, and in this case the world who would take you away from the Word. The Word is moving against the tide of the world, so it takes courage and perseverance to live the life God has called you for, of which God at the end would say, “well done, good and faithful servants”. Be transformed not reformed.

When Your Imagination Becomes Your Limitation

In actualising anything that becomes creativity of which that which is to be created is supposed to have been finished in the mind, what we could call imagination. As we know, an architect is expected to have an image of what he intends to design, without this we become stuck and nothing new is created. So, we know the importance of imagination. But have you ever considered your imagination becoming your limitation?

Let’s take a look at God; it is very easy to imagine a person who cannot die and lives forever, but it is so impossible to imagine someone who has no beginning! You think about it, your mind cannot comprehend it. This is how God is, He has no beginning and what He gives cannot be comprehended. The grace God has given us has neither beginning nor end. It is made clear in Ephesians 3:20 which says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” Ephesians 3:20 NIV.

God made us understand that there is a level we need be operating from making imagination limitation. The fact that you can imagine a thing still indicates that what is imagined is limited by how far your imagination can go. No matter who you are, there is a limit to how much you can imagine. So why don’t you tap into the powers of being limitless, that which your mind will never comprehend. This power come from God and can only be achieved through us; this power is Jesus in our lives and this is what we get. God uses us as a medium in expressing His might and being limitless.

So, being a believer means free access to the unlimited powers of God, in your homes, schools, work, businesses, health and so much more. And of course the Holy Spirit is our guide on how to use this great power. This is made available to us because of God’s love for us and this is the gospel truth.
