The Mission Statement

The term 'mission statement' isn't something new to us. Every organisation has a mission statement. So, one way or the other, you must have seen it. Now, what is a mission statement?

A mission statement is a short statement of why a organisation exist, this summarises the intent in major goal achievement of an organisation. Also, in whatever thing you set out to do, there is a mission which states the process in the achievement of the goal. If this is so, it is then clear that there is a goal for every Son and Daughter of God living here on earth.

Let's take a look at Matthew 28:18-20,:

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  ¹⁹Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  ²⁰teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen."

Jesus had been given all authority in heaven and on earth by God the Father. So, in the verses quoted above, what Jesus was saying was this, "Now that I've freed the world of the bondage of sin, and a new life which clears off the sinful nature has began. My intention for all these is that mankind as a whole can now become one with God again, since there is nothing hindering that from happening." That's just in very, very plain English.

So, Jesus sending the disciples out into the world was to inform the entire world that they are free from the bondage of sin. And since they are still living a sinful nature, there is a brandnew life with a brandnew package that gives them a new nature, which is the nature of Jesus.

The purpose of Jesus' coming was to break off the bondage of sin from the life of man permanently, by taking off the wrath of God through His death, as an eternal sacrifice or atonement was made. Then the second purpose was redemption of the world to Himself, and this can only happen with a change of nature. So, He has sent the Sons and Daughters out to redeem the world to Himself, away from the coming destruction of the earth. This is the mission statement.

Now, if anything we do has nothing to do with redemption, we aren't living the mission of our calling. Sadly, many of us have been distracted by the things of the world, as many run after money because they need to put food on the table, send their children to school, pay bills and more. Now, if the wicked world can provide allowances for things like transportation, clothing, house, and more, it won't make any sense that God Almighty sent us out and hasn't made the provision of all we would ever need in carrying out His mission. Pause for the while and think of what I just wrote.

Jesus had made us understand that we shouldn't worry about what to eat, drink or wear, because our Father has taken care of that. Our focus should be on our calling—the mission!

And remember, Jesus commanded His disciples not to leave Jerusalem till they receive Holy Spirit. In plain English, it meant, they shouldn't go out for the mission till they receive their woki toki, which Jesus would use to communicate with them and lead them on how to carry out the mission and where to go.

So, whatever we do, we must have received guidance from the woki toki to go where we are going. And of course, the purpose is redemption, and not to fill our bellies, or worry about things not being met. Listen to the woki toki and you will find out all the tools you need have been provided (food, clothing, shelter, and other stuffs). So, that shouldn't be our focus, the mission should be our focus.

We have the map on how to move (the word of God), and the voice from the woki toki MUST follow the map. Any other woki toki receiving another signal would sway one away from the map, so, that isn't Jesus speaking.

It's time to carry out the mission, and it is clearly spelt out in the mission statement.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
