From Condemnation to Acceptance

Happy weekend everyone,

When something is condemned, it becomes a thing that has no use anymore, a thing that is abandoned and should be forgotten. This was the state Adam put himself and the whole world after eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But despite being in the state of condemnation, God still loved us and was going to save us, which happened through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. I keep repeating this summary of what God did for us, over and over again so that we fully understand what God did for us through Jesus.

Romans 8:1-2 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” By being under Christ Jesus, you are under a brand new life, just the way a branch is cut off a tree and is being grafted to another tree, the life source of the branch now comes from the new tree and not the old one anymore.

Condemnation was placed upon the old generation founded by the first Adam. But the last Adam—Jesus Christ was and is perfect before God with no flaws whatsoever, as He fulfilled every requirement given by God. This is why John 3:18 says, “He who believes in Him [Jesus] is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

The verse above means that everyone is born into the life of condemnation because it is the foundation laid by the first Adam. Now, having the right of choice, we would choose if we want to live the life of condemnation we found ourselves or move to a brand new life with Jesus becoming our Lord and life; and life in the sense that His life of no condemnation becomes our very existence and not the life from the first Adam any longer. So, what are the key things we must do to acknowledge our coming under the Lordship of Jesus? Log on tomorrow, same time.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
