The Grace of God is Deeper Than You Think

Hello everyone,

Today is a continuation from yesterday where I started explaining how great God’s love and grace really is, but today explains in detail what this grace of God really is.

In a past write-up of mine I made reference to Matthew 7:7-11 and Luke 11:9-13, comparing Matthew 7:11 and Luke 11:13. The passage was about when Jesus spoke about the popular ask, seek and knock, then Matthew 7:9-11 says, “Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? And then verse 11 says, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! the Luke’s account had a clearer picture of what the good things God gives to those who ask Him, verse 13 of Luke 11 says, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” It was then clear that the Holy Spirit is the good things God is ready to give to those who ask Him. All these were before the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus who was the sacrifice that restored us back to God, but before we shout yippee, know what this grace really is or who it is.

The passage we read made it clear that it is the Holy Spirit who is the exact Spirit of God/Jesus, but we can’t gain access to it except through Jesus. Jesus is the grace we have been given because through Him and in Him we have access to the grace God has given to us which is having the Holy Spirit dwell in us, in other words God is living in us. Alright, okay, I’m sure you must be saying things like “I’ve this before I know the Holy Spirit resides in us the moment we accept Jesus into our lives”, but have you ever stopped to think again that for God Himself to refer to this as grace it must be bigger than we think!

Grace again means unmerited, undeserved favour, meaning there was nothing in our lives that we would have done to merit this favour God has given us, not our books or even living an excellent moral life because God said no one is righteous, no one is good, not even one [ref. Romans 3:9-19], so it was clear that God later calling us the righteousness of God through Christ according to 2 Corinthians 5:21 had nothing to do with us at all in any way. The only thing that made us gain access to such great wealth of grace was just by believing [ref. John 3:16].

Look you have to understand that there was nothing we could have done that was worth God giving us what He has offered us today, nothing! The only way was just to believe and we also need to understand that when you call something a first aid box it means an item that contains several items in it, the same is also said of the Holy Spirit, it contains several things even beyond what we can fathom that is Him (Holy Spirit), this is what we need and have to know or else we would keep underrating what God has given to us.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
