What Has He Asked You To Do In The New Year?

Today is the very last day of the year 2021, wow! What an adventure right? Tomorrow is a new year. Many would have their "new year, new me" syndrome popping up very soon.

In my last write-up, my focus was on the fact that in as much as we intend to perform better in the new year, or set up new goals, what

should be the most important or only thing on our mind is to know God's plan for our lives. In other words, what is your purpose here on earth; what is the reason for your creation; what should you get done for the year 2022? This is very important because, why live outside your original design? So, when you've inquired of the Lord who would then reveal what you're to do, the question to ask is to know your motive when carrying out what God has asked you to do.

In 1 Corinthians 10:23-33, Apostle Paul's focus was on giving all the Glory to God. And in verse 31 of 1 Corinthians 10, it says, "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." No Matter What we have been asked to do, it had to be done giving all the Glory to God.

Now, when I say it has to be done giving Glory to God, it means we must remain attentive to the Holy Spirit, as He would be the One to direct us on how things should be done, and by doing this, our minds become renewed, your conscience is then able to alert you when you are or aren't giving Glory to God through your actions. This is important because things may be going on smoothly, but you aren't giving Glory to God! Surprised? (I'll explain this in detail in a few days time).

But when you are being purged by the Word of God, and in the leading of the Holy Spirit, you have grown Spiritually in knowing how to give Glory to God. It becomes your new nature of Jesus being made manifested, as you are no longer ignorant in knowing how to give Glory to God.

Do not be deceived by the devil to think everything God asked you to do is about suffering and sacrifice. For sacrifice, yes, there would be sacrifice, but not to your own detriment. You should understand that what you're doing is actually God's mission, and not yours in the real sense. You're His vessel, and God ensures His plan is done excellently. And because of that, He would take good care of His vessel (you), (ref. Matthew 6:33).

As you begin the new year tomorrow and begin to carry out God's plan for your life, know that He's got your back, and all you would ever need in carrying out the mission has been given to you, which are really your needs being met, which is a strong reason why you should always be grateful to Him.

Trust the Lord because He Himself trusts you.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Do Not Operate Outside Your Original Design

It's a few days to the end of the year 2021, and as we do that, many of us start to reflect how the year went for us, and how we can do better in the coming year. It is alright and normal to ensure you perform better in the coming year by achieving your goals. But looking at things from the general perspective, what goals are you supposed to really achieve?

Several times, many of us place some selfish ambition as our goal or something impossible, not designed by God for us in the first place. What do I mean by that?

We all have cells in our bodies, we know them as cells, but as they are all cells, they are all unique within the body. Everyone of them have a position they maintain and have a specific purpose within the body. For instance, the cells of the stomach cannot wish to be the cell of the lungs. Even if that were possible, any cell found where it wasn't designated could cause a negative reaction to the body.

In the same vein, you have a particular purpose and goal given to you by God. It isn't something you create yourself or something you determine yourself. Ephesians 2:10 speaks of us being God's workmanship; His masterpiece that He has predestined, which are in line with His plan and purpose for our lives.

What all these imply is that you need to know the plan and purpose of God for your life, especially for the coming year 2022.

There is nothing as frustrating as getting lost. But it gets annoying when I see a person has gotten the right directions, but insists on his or hers and always end up lost.

So, how do you know the plan and purpose of God for your life?

A simple prayer to God, asking Him to reveal to you His plans for you. Meditate on His word as revelations could come from there. After that, keep giving thanks to God in faith for answering you. You should be alert, as God reveals His plans in ways you can understand, but only when you're alert would you see the it manifest.

Be rest assured God has answered you. If you feel you haven’t seen the plan or aren't sure, ask Him to make it clear for you to identify, because you won't want to do things outside His will. And when God wants to make you see a thing, He really knows how to make it clear.

The most important thing is that when you know God's plan and purpose for you in the new year 2022, ensure you follow it. Study the Word of God regularly, listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit as it always abide with the Word of God, and it glorifies God always.

Peace on Earth?

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas is an awesome time of the year. There is fun, gifts are given to loved ones and to those in need. It's a time where friends and families come together for the holiday. And you know, the year is about to end, so there's a lot to talk and reflect on. But what exactly is Christmas all about?

Well, those who want to prove smart may say, "Christmas is about the coming of Jesus, to die for our sins." The "He came to die for our sins" line, has become a cliché, that many don't even know the meaning of that line. So, what's Christmas all about.

Christmas symbolises the end of life as we know it, and beginning of a brand new one, (although the new officially commenced at the resurrection of Jesus). This is why you "peace on earth" during Christmas.

The birth of Jesus was so significant to God that He ensured His angel delivered the message to Zacharias, Mary and Joseph and not a man. This was the physical activation of His master plan for mankind. God also ensured He shut the mouth of Zacharias when he had doubt in his heart, over the birth of his son—John the baptist, as he thought he was too old to have children.

God ensured heavenly host of heaven appeared in the sky glorifying God to the Shepherds on the birth of Jesus. He ensured the wise men were led by a star to where Jesus was. God never wanted any of His plan to be ruined. This was a very significant moment for God as this was His perfect Gift to mankind.

Jesus was the end of this world, and the beginning of a brand new life with no sin or death involved. And you know when I say sin and death, it includes diseases, pain, depression, pandemic, financial depression, and so on.

The new life contains the direct life of God with His Holy Spirit living inside of you, isn't that awesome? This was why a multitude of heavenly host praised and glorified God in Luke 2:14 saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Jesus Himself said in the popular John 3:16, "For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in Him will never perish but experience everlasting life." TPT, isn't God awesome?

I don't know about you, but this is why I love and celebrate Christmas. God brought peace on earth in the midst of this chaos of this passing away world. Why not seize this opportunity of becoming a citizen of the brand new life Jesus brought us.

Do have an amazing Christmas everyone.

Don't Stop The Flow (Part 2)

It's three days to Christmas!

Last time, I wrote on, "Don't Stop The Flow". Several times, we think God withholds His blessings from us. Well, before the resurrection of Jesus Christ, that was true when certain precepts based on His law wasn't followed, this was because the wrath of the Lord God was still kindled against the sin in man, and not man himself because God loves man so much. But since death of Jesus and His resurrection, the wrath of God was satisfied, and the free flow of God's blessings came upon man, God has given, it is left for us to receive what has been given.

The issue we have is how to receive, and this is where we need to trust God more, because the more we trust Him, the more we see the flow of His blessings in our lives. This implies that we have received what He has given us.

The same principle where your parent or someone gives you something special, and then you believe it's yours and you receive it, is the same principle that applies when God gives us His gift, which He had, so what is stopping you from receiving His gift? Do you believe His gift is yours?

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Don’t Stop The Flow

Wow, it's four days to Christmas!

Do you know there wouldn't have been Christmas to celebrate if certain words weren't said by Mary, the mother of Jesus. But I won't be looking into that today. My focus is on the event that happened before the event of Mary, based on the account of Luke.

The event before that of Mary was the event involving Zacharias who was a priest with no child of his own because his wife was barren. He and his wife, Elizabeth were advanced in years, but had always prayed to have offsprings of theirs.

Now, it happened that while Zacharias was burning incense in the temple, Gabriel an angel of the Lord God Almighty appeared to him. Yeah, me too... that would have been a scary moment, which was why the angel asked him not to be afraid.

The angel told Zacharias that the prayers of Elizabeth, his wife and himself has been answered, and Elizabeth will have child for him—Zacharias.

Zacharias was surprised that despite his old age, he could still be told he would have a child. So, it was hard for him to believe. His doubt was beyond the fact that an angel of the Lord told him he would have a child.

In order for Zacharias not to ruin the perfect plan of the Lord God, Gabriel the angel said to Zacharias in Luke 1:20, "But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.” This goes to show that our words can delay the plans of God, but it can't stop God's plan from coming to pass because God's word cannot return to Him void, it must be fulfilled, (ref. Isaiah 55:11).

For angel Gabriel to have made Zacharias mute implies God wanted the plan to happen at that particular time, and nothing could stop the plan of God from being accomplished, because God has an appointed time for anything to happen.

We shouldn't be a cause for delayed blessings in our lives. As He has said it, we should not negate it, which would delay the flow of God's word from coming to pass.

Above and Beyond Logic

That's it, I'm not reasoning it out anymore. I said this in some of my previous write-ups, when God tells you to do a thing, it doesn't make logical sense [humanly speaking] most times. The moment you try to analyse it using your human logic, it doesn’t come together. And if you dwell on the human logic to get it done, you'll end up not moving.

All the way from Genesis to Revelation, till today, God is still the same in terms of how His words cannot be understood using human logic. From Noah, when God asked him to build an ark, and fill it up with a pair of every living animal on earth. Using the measurement given to Noah by God, it won't appear logical.

What about Abraham? God told Abraham who was 99 years of age, that his wife who had been confirmed barren, and was 89 years of age, would have a child by 90. This sounds so unbelievable.

What of Moses who was sent by God to free his people who were enforced slaves in the most powerful nation of the then world. The people to be freed weren't 20 in number, or 100, or even a thousand. They were millions. To make matters more illogical, Moses didn't go there with an army. All he went there with was a staff, and no army, THAT'S ALL!

I won't be chanced to talk about Joshua, Gideon, David, Jehoshaphat, Elijah, Elisha, and more. But I have a little time left to talk about my role model—Jesus Christ.

How would Jesus see a girl who was confirmed dead and say she wasn't dead, but only asleep. How can you tell your disciples that they had little faith when on a boat on a lake, and faced with a storm who shook the boat violently. How can you speak of your death, how you'll die. OK, one could try to reason this out a little bit. But how would you speak of your resurrection with the precise timing.

In all these events that I stated above and more that are in the scriptures, and those that we experience personally, one thing was always certain, they all came out victorious, just because they believed and followed all that God asked them to do.

It was then certain as I concluded, that though they may appear illogical humanly speaking, but they are not below logic, rather they are above and beyond logic, which makes its accuracy a reason for that, as it stands the test of time individually but unique in its own right, as they cannot be repeated in terms of a scientific approach. But however they come, as long as it is from God, the result is always excellent and perfect, for God cannot be mocked.

Don't Twist God’s Hand

Hi everyone,

When we run the race of life, we sometimes meet challenges in front of us. We run to God for His direction and leading. But when we decide to listen to God as He leads us, we sometimes feel what He says do not align with our logic, then again, we won't want to live our lives outside His leading. So, in order for it to be a "win win" in our myopic human reason, when compared to that of God, we then twist the hand of God, and this is always dangerous to do.

Let's look at Genesis 15. In this chapter, we understand that God met with Abram (that's before God changed his name to Abraham), and had a covenant with him. But before the covenant, Abram had told God that he doesn’t have any biological heir of his own, and we know that one of the reasons was Sarai (before her name was changed to Sarah) was barren. God on the other hand said Abram would have his biological heir. So, this would imply that Sarai would have a child for Abram. And verse 6 says Abram believed, and it was counted to him as righteousness. Wow, this is deep.

For God to count an act as righteousness back in the days before the coming of the Messiah—Jesus, that would really mean a lot. But let's look at Genesis 16.

In Genesis 16, Sarai said to Abram that God had restrained her from having children of her own. So, she gave her maidservant to Abram to lay with her, and maybe she would have a child. And you know whatever the slave owned belonged to Sarai. And Abram consented.

Wait, wait. Hold on a minute. When Sarai have the maidservant to Abram was after the covenant God had with Abram, whether it was immediately, or years after, the main thing was that it happened after God had a covenant with Abram, where God told Abram that he would have a biological heir of his own. And remember Abram believed. So, why didn't he tell Sarai what God said, or maybe remind her if he had told her before?

So, what I believe is that Abram twisted the hand of God. And here's why I'm saying so. Abram believed what God told him, that he would have a biological child of his own, but God didn't categorically state Sarai as the woman who would carry the child. So, it was easy for Abram to assume for God by thinking, since Sarai is barren, maybe God wants the heir to come from her maidservant, after all, whatever the maidservant owns is automatically Sarai's. But guess what? Abram was wrong.

The maidservant had a child from Abram, but wasn't the one God intended to carry the biological heir for Abram!

Sadly, Abram's mistake is always on the news everyday, as the eventual biological heir of Abraham [from Sarah], and child of the maidservant are not at peace till today.

True, what God asks us to do could seem illogical, but the person who asked you to do so isn't ignorant of your future. He knows your end even before you were born. All we need to do is to trust and obey Him, even when things sounds illogical. Of course, the word of God exposes falsehood, just to clear up any form of doubt, and to establish an assurance from God's word.

God cannot be mocked, let us not forget that. Let us also remember that even if we have any form of doubt, He is the one who would strengthen us in every way to carry out His mission.

God Needs Man, as Man Needs God

Hi everyone,

Recently, I wrote on the topic "No Matter What, He's Always Got Your Back". There, I explained that for God to have picked you, it implies you are the best person who GOT the job done. As you know, God knows the outcome of everything. And for God to have picked you for an assignment shows how much He trusts you.

Normally, we are to trust God, because He has shown from the beginning of time, how He is forever worthy of trust. Then for Him to entrust you with an assignment shows how much He trusts you. And for Him to trust you, He will equip you with all the tools needed to get the job done. This goes to show that just as we need God, He needs us also.

Do not get things the wrong way, God isn't helpless without us, neither are we to take laws into our own hands by fighting for Him as though He is helpless, or when He didn't lead you to do so.

The bond between God and Man is through His Holy Spirit, which was what Adam lost when he fell. But thank God for Jesus who is fully God and fully Man; He is our new link to God.

The Bible makes us understand that the things of God, which were counted as mysteries because we lost the link to God, are now revealed by Christ Jesus being in us. And with that, we are privileged to have His mind (referring to those born of God), because we now have His Spirit, which is the link to God, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 2:6-16).

As a result of this bond, we have become vessels of honour unto Him. We have now received eternal life because we know Him. And because of this, we express His personality here on earth. As He speaks, we express. This is where we understand that God needs Man, and we need Him. We are made for His pleasure, (ref.: Revelations 4:11), and with Him we express His love towards us here on earth by Grace, by the Faith of Christ Jesus. God is awesome!

How To Live The God-Life Here On Earth

Hi everyone,

You know, many things cross my mind a lot, and you know, everything about those born of God is that they live just like God. But this is actually an understatement. Those who are born of God live God. In other words, they become fused with Jesus, who is God. And we know Jesus started a brand new life; so when anyone is born of God, he or she becomes a part of the body of Christ. As a result of this, the faith life allows us understand that it is not about us, but about Jesus.

Let me break that down. Life for a person born of God is not about what they think, feel or say, but all about who God says you are, which we see manifested in its fullness in the life of Jesus.

From Bible days till now, we understand that those who live right with God follow the simple principle of: He has said, so that I can boldly say. However, our feelings are corrupted by the physical world because our mind is still being renewed. To be born of God is to live BY the perfect faith  of Jesus, and not our faith. This is what makes those born of God live like God here on earth. And Jesus once again is the perfect example of the One who did that.

Hebrews 11:6 says without faith, it is impossible to please God, which implies you carry the life of God, so it is normal to live the life of God, which is "He has SAID, that I will boldly say: I am healed; I am blessed; as Jesus is, so am I; I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; I'm seated with Christ in the heavenly realm" and so on.

Now, all what we boldly say are who God made Jesus to become. So, all we boldly say we ate who Christ is right now. Your person doesn't exist because you exist in Christ, who is your existence. All you confess is the relationship between God the Father and Jesus, who is God, but in this case, representing us.

And know this, as you focus on the relationship between the Father and the Son (who represents us), it irritates the devil, because the more you do this, the more you can't be carried away by his deception. So, He said, so that I will boldly say all what He said Jesus is, are who I have become. It's all about our relationship with God our Father.

Faith Is To Live In Another World

It's Monday again. Where I stay, Monday is the most busy day of the week. It's like everyone decides to leave the house for work or any other business. But as I kept on looking at the world, it was clearer to me that the world is operating in another dimension. In other words, it could imply that the world is living another world as theirs, and it has become a norm, that they don't even know what their original and true life is. So, when those who are born again live the original and true life, it appears as though those born of God are weird. But guess what, the world is actually the weird one!

Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Verse 3 says, "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."

To a lay man we could say God framed the world's by faith, but God doesn't use faith in a sense, what He does is just who He is. In other words, He is who He is. But because the world we live in do things opposing to how they were created, we need another source of life to believe in what God did. So, when a person is born again, his life is by faith, not because he wants to believe, but because that is who he is, his life is now the life of God.

2 Corinthians 5:7 says we walk by faith and not by sight. In other words, those who are born of God live their lives using the new source of their existence and not the source of existence of the world. So, when a person who is born again do things, the people of the world need another understanding to comprehend what was done, because it appears to them as mystery.

Those born of God live and walk by faith as their normal lives, which is the same way God lives. They see as God sees. But how there is something that makes those born of the God live like God here on earth, and I'm not referring to the Holy Spirit, if you think that is what I'm talking about [laughs].

Log on same time tomorrow as I explain this.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. No Matter What, He's Always Got Your Back

Happy Sunday everyone,

I don't know about you, but for me, some times I get anxious when I am being led by the Holy Spirit to do certain things. But the sad thing I noticed was that the more I delayed in doing what He asked me to do, the time went away without any achievements. And of course I won't want to do any other thing contrary to what He asked me to do, which I'm anxious about.

What I did to get out of cases like this was to come clean before God, who us our Father, telling Him how anxious I was over the task He assigned to me. Of course, in many cases, what God asks us to doesn't make sense in terms of flowing with the pattern of this world. But Gid on the other hand brings up scriptures to strengthen us.

We see testimonies of people in scriptures who trusted God when things were tough but God got their backs, as they came back victorious.

Philippians 4:6 says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." God isn't deaf to our prayers, in fact if I put things in human understanding, He can't wait for the task to get done. So, it shows that He picks the best person for the job to get His assignment done. And when you see how much God trust you, you trust Him back all the more because you believe and know He's got your back.

By doing this, verse 7 of Philippians 4 says, "and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." This is not a fairy tale, I really do get this peace of mind inside of me. It is His peace, which is the peace of assurance, the peace of faith that the job is already a success, and guess what? It was always a success.

Do not ever lose hope or be pulled in different directions over a thing. If God chooses you to do a thing, just be rest assured that to Him, the best person who GOT the job done was you. That's how much God believes in you. And He will always go the extra mile to provide everything you will need in getting the job done.

How To Never Get Your Walking Wrong Again

How're you doing everyone? Trust you're having a blessed day.

In my last write-up, I wrote on the topic "Obedience is by His Grace", where my focus was on Ephesians 2:8-9. I explained that from the time anyone gets reborn into Christ, all what he or she has is gift from God and not through his or sweat popularly known as hardwork. Now, this doesn’t mean the person just looks or remain idle. What it means is that in Christ, you receive a brand new Spirit or personality, and with this you're led by the Holy Spirit from then on. Therefore, to fall in line with being called the Son or Daughter of God, all you've got to do is to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Now, the Holy Spirit follows the path of the Word of God, which is proof to us that we are being led by Jesus Himself. Thus, our focus is on Him and Him alone.

So, why is being obedient to God very important to us and to God Himself? To answer that, I look go through Ephesians 2:10.

According to The Passion Translation, Ephesians 2:10 says, "We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!"

Anyone born of God is God's workmanship, poetry, masterpiece, a recreated in Christ Jesus. The essence is that he or she fulfills God's plans for him or her, which has been destined by God before they were born.

God who created us knows exactly why we were created and born, and this why obedience to Him is very important.

Romans 8:14 speaks of Sons and Daughters of God being the ones who are led by the Holy Spirit, the very same Spirit of God/Jesus. Psalms 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path." The Passion Translation says, "Truth’s shining light guides me in my choices and decisions; the revelation of your word makes my pathway clear." Psalms 119:105 TPT. The word of God which the Holy Spirit follows, leads us to the destination of the path set by God. This path by God is a shining light that guides us even to our choices and decisions. And to make things even more interesting, this path allows us to get deeper revelation of the word thereby making the path clearer.

The only way God can guide us is only when we obey Him. And this is because He knows us more than we know ourselves. All that Jesus is, we have been privileged to inherit, it's a brand new life, and an awesome one too.

Obedience is by His Grace

Hi everyone,

In my last write-up I wrote on the topic "Obedience or Hardwork?" I pointed out that God is moved with the obedience of His Sons and Daughters, and not through hardwork. A person who is obedient follows all what God tells him or her to do by being led by the Holy Spirit. This is proof that they are Sons and Daughters of God, (ref.: Romans 8:14).

Hardwork is an expression of man-made effort without the presence of God. Obedience to God is a sign of faith and humility. It symbolises complete trust in God.

As I wrote yesterday, your reaction to Grace is obedience and not hardwork. The moment you say "Yes" to Him, immediately all that He would need to carry out His mission, He gives to you. But without obedience you can't carry them out.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; ⁹ Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]" AMPC. It is God's Grace and not by our striving that we are saved. The essence of this is all glory to go to God, and not ourselves. It is an experience that we would know that it is nothing that we would have been able to do, which is why it is a free gift.

The Passion Translation puts Ephesians 2:8-9 thus, "For it was only through this wonderful grace that we believed in him. Nothing we did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the gracious gift from God that brought us to Christ! ⁹ So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving." TPT. This version makes it clear that nothing we did could ever earn this salvation. God gave us this gracious gift.

We should understand that the moment we say "Yes" to Jesus He takes over. Let me elaborate, when Jesus is in charge, He is the one doing the work. In other words, we are just vessels unto Him. All He would ever need to carry out His mission, He gives unto us. This also means that since it is His mission, we don't decide what to do, rather, He decides what we are to do. He is in charge.

The reason why things don't work out is because we choose to do things ourselves, instead of being led by Him into falling in line with His mind-set and His plans for us. This is where obedience comes in. No knowledge you acquired can be our leading.

The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make." TPT. We are to rely on Jesus with all our hearts, we are to put aside our opinions, and trust in the Lord completely. This is complete obedience in Jesus.

We shouldn't forget that the Holy Spirit would strengthen us in our weakness. Also, it is by the Faith of Jesus that we move, and not with the faith of the former life.

In my next write-up I'll look into Ephesians 2:10 in line with being obedient to God, and why this is very important to us and to God Himself.
