Why Jesus Called Himself The Truth

Hello everyone,

The mind is a very important tool which we all have and can what we need to know is that the power of the mind can make it good for us of screw things up for us, but how exactly are our minds expected to think?

As humans, we face challenges in our lives, such as illness, or any other negative things. But Jesus died to save the world, by saving the world, He freed us from infirmities, diseases, poverty, and anything that does not pertain to the life of Christ. So, what is the life of Christ?

Before I attend to the question above, we need to understand that for Jesus to have called Himself the truth implies that everything outside of Him is a lie, in other words, we have been living a lie for a long time. Jesus saved us from all appearances of evil, as God took us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Jesus His dear Son, so every appearance of evil is a lie because someone has been and is still lying to us, who is this person? The devil!

Jesus made us understand that the devil is the father of lies, and whatever he says is a lie which is his native dialect, (ref. John 8:44). Now, since we understand that the things that happen on earth are lies, what exactly is the Truth as Jesus said He is the Truth?

We have been saved by grace, not by our works so that no one should boast, (ref. Ephesians 2:8-9); for those who are born of God, their old life died, and a brand new life replaced that old life, and that life is the life of Jesus, in other words, Jesus is the life of those born of God, (ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20, Colossians 3:4). Those born of God have received the fullness of Christ, in other words, as Christ is exactly in His fullness and completeness, that exact life is what has been given to everyone born of God, (ref. Colossians 2:9-10, 1 John 4:17). I’m getting somewhere with this.

I said that it wasn’t by our works that we received grace, but it was given as a gift from God. Jesus said He is the truth, which would imply that for Him being our means we have all things in Him. Colossians 1:17 says, “And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).” AMP. As God raised Jesus from the dead, all authority was given to Jesus and it is His life that those born of God live, because this life is the life of Jesus. Stay with me on this. Jesus is our life and the truth, only in Him can we find all things.

We often hear the statement, “all things are yours”, but many do not know where that statement came from, and if they do, many do not read the next verse which completes the whole statement made. 1 Corinthians 3:21-23 says, “Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours. And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.” All things are yours because you are of Christ because it is only in Him all things can be yours, in other words, His fullness is what we are to live one because He is our life! This is why He is the truth, we can only find the true life in Him. What does this mean? It means, only the things that Christ have are what we have, as He has all authority in heaven and on earth, likewise those born of God have the exact same thing, thus having the same Spirit. But why don’t we see the fullness of Christ everywhere, especially in the life of those born of God?

We don’t see the fullness of Christ in many lives born of God simply because they still believe the lies of the devil. For instance, we can’t fall sick anymore, we can’t be poor, we can’t be affected by any evil works of the devil, because we live the life of Christ, and Christ cannot be affected by those things. What we need to do after being born of God is to examine ourselves daily. Ephesians 4:23 says, “And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],” in the same vein Romans 12:2 talks of being transformed by the renewal of our minds, so that we would fulfil what the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God is for our lives is. Why are all these important because we live in a world full of lies, and the truth can only be found in Jesus, for He Himself said in John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” And He is the truth and has set the whole world free, and for as many who believes this truth, they would receive the new life, and the mind of Christ, (ref. 1 Corinthians 2:16).

This whole write-up is so loaded, I can’t break it into two or else you won’t get the full picture, even though this is a summary [laughs]. Now we know why Jesus called Himself the Truth.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
