Relax, Jesus Didn't Die For Nothing

Hello everyone,

Last time I looked into Romans 8:1-2 which emphasised that there is no longer any condemnation to those who are born of God because of the new Spirit of Christ, the new Spirit of Christ in those born of God have a Spirit to please God which affects how they live and behave. Today, I’ll continue with a look at Romans 8.

Romans 8:3-5 speaks of sin being subdued by Jesus, thus allowing the righteous and just requirement of the Law being met in those who are born of God, thereby not living according to the dictates of the flesh, but being controlled by the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:6 says, “Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].” AMP.

What surprised me is that the mind of the flesh is sense and reason, but without the Holy Spirit. The way man reasons with his senses which seems normal would bring death, and why is that? It is so because the Spirit which the first Adam got from his disobedience was the Spirit of death, and by death, it means everything that comes out of the Spirit, the thought, words, deeds, actions, reactions and others. This implies that once our Spirit isn’t the Holy Spirit then the result leads to death.

On the other hand, the mind of the Holy Spirit is life and peace which lives forever because it is attached to life who is Jesus, which means that any reason is being guided by the Holy Spirit and it leads to life, the life of the Holy Spirit is a pure life and not a psychological reshaping of the mind without an actual change of the mind, because if there wasn’t a real change of the Spirit, then there was no reason for Jesus to have died, it wouldn’t have made any sense to die for nothing. Jesus simply would have taught us how to work on our mind, and He would have become a philosopher having His own theories of life. so, it remains clear that Jesus’ sole aim was to save the world by giving us a new life, so don’t take this for granted.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
