Be Change Agents

Happy New Week everyone,

I look everywhere around me and I see frustration, people rushing to make ends meet in an insincere society where people cannot be honest in their dealings. Romans 8:20-21 says, “For the creation (nature) was subjected to frailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it-[yet] with the hope that nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption [and gain an entrance] into the glorious freedom of God’s children.” AMP. Whether we try to avoid it, the truth is the truth, the world is very corrupt, but is this how the world is to remain?

In a write-up months ago, I said the Sons of God are meant to be superheroes, in other words, we are to save the world from its troubles. Now, we have received a new Spirit, a new life, a new understanding, with the wisdom of God and the mind of Christ, thus we are to teach the world how to live, by our way of life, that is how our lives should show a person who is not controlled by the way the world operates, and showing them how our real world operates, for we are Ambassadors for Christ, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:20).

There are distractions everywhere because we live in this world, but one way to help get your minds off the pattern of this world is to know exactly what God has called you for here on earth. The reason for this is because if we don’t get to know why we were put here on earth and walking with the Holy Spirit as He keeps unravelling what we are to do here on earth, we would just be held in the chaos, corruption, and pattern of this world. Our purpose is to save this world, as Christ has called us to do so, which is why we have been given the fullness of Christ.

We were set free by Jesus when He died on cross, and through His resurrection we have received the fullness of Christ, which is why we are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms, (ref.: Ephesians 2:6), it is left to us who know this truth to tell the world that they have been set free, even if they feel comfortable in their mess, we are to show them that their mess is like a man comfortably living in prison.

The Holy Spirit is our best friend Who we can relate anything to, and He is ever ready to help and direct us, to set the world free from decay and bondage, we must save the ignorant and lost ones from this misery, but first let us not get carried away because many have been carried away and this is one of the reasons why the unsaved have refused to change. Be that change agent that the world have been waiting for, by bringing heaven down here on earth through our way of life.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Expressing His Love To The World (Part 2)

Happy Sunday everyone,

Yesterday, I wrote on how to express the love of Christ in us to the world. Apostle James wrote on pure religion, and Jesus spoke on the last day when He comes how feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, accommodating a stranger in need, clothing the naked, and visiting those in prison, (ref.: James 1:27; Matthew 25:31-46), all these for those in need are part of those things Sons of God are expected to do, but we see these things done by people who are not even Sons of God, so what exactly makes the actions of the Sons of God even different from that of any other person?

Romans 8:19 says, “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” which means that the Sons of God haven’t been revealed to the world yet. Everyone who is born of God and has received the Holy Spirit has the life of God dwelling in them, and having God dwelling in them would imply that everywhere they go, they are to express the power of God. Acts 10:38 says, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Jesus did more than just visiting the orphanages, widows, prisoners, and other things, what He did was that He made use of the God-given power in Him by healing all those who were oppressed by the devil, healing the sick, performing miracles, bringing great transformation to the lives of people, bringing the dead back to life, and teaching all the Word of God. All these were what Jesus did, and He said the Sons of God would do more than what He did here on earth, (ref.: John 14:12).

In the Gospel of Mark 16:17-18, Jesus said, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” These are signs Jesus said those who are Sons of God should possess.

The power of God through Jesus flow through the Sons of God, these anointing is not the ability of man, but Jesus performing signs and wonders through the Sons of God. So, when we see the sick we shouldn’t just visit them, rather we should heal them; when we see those demons possessed, we should cast out the demon in them, and other related to these because we have the fullness of Christ dwelling in us, all these should be done in love, thus expressing the love of Christ through us to the world.

Jesus said we should be the light of the world, He came as the light and said He is the light of the world, and if He is our light, the light we reflect is Himself through us. All our good deeds which we reflect to the world that makes them praise God is what Romans 8:19 is talking about, (ref.: Matthew 5:13-16; John 8:12). We must understand that nothing that we do through Christ has any meaning if it is not done in love, for love conquers all.

Expressing His Love To The World (Part 1)

Happy Weekend everyone,

When you go through the gospels, you’ll find a time when the disciples of Jesus saw Jesus praying and when He was done, they asked Him to teach them how to pray which He did, and this was where we got the popular Lord’s prayer. Although, some lines of the Lord’s Prayer given then was cannot be used since Jesus has been glorified, lines such as, “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” This is because when Jesus died, God forgave our debts forever, because all our debts were placed on Jesus, what we do is to give thanks to God for forgiving our debts. Well, that’s not where I’m heading anyways, where I’m driving at which has to do with today’s write-up is the what Jesus said in the Lord’s Prayer, which is, “Your [God’s] will be done on earth as it is in heaven”, this is also in line with what Apostle John wrote in 1 John 4:17 which was that as Christ is, so are the Sons of God here on earth. Where am I going through with this?

Romans 8:19 says, “For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].” AMP. The life the Sons of God have received if so good that they were given the great commission by Jesus to go into all the world and spread the message of this good news, but in spreading this message, many have faced sufferings, all have been persecuted in different ways. With all these sufferings, they cannot be compared with the glory that has been conferred on us, (ref.: Romans 8:18).

Now, going back to the beginning of this write-up, Jesus said God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven, which implies that we are to express the God-life here on earth as we live here on earth. Apostle James in the Epistle of James wrote on what he called pure religion, which are things like visiting orphans and widows in their trouble and other things related to this, (ref.: James 1:27). In line with this, Jesus spoke on the importance of our positive, sincere and undefiled attitude as we relate to people, reflecting the love of Christ in all that we do to people, (ref. Matthew 25:31-46). But many people even outside of being a Son of God do this, so what exactly are we to do which stands out different from the regular visit to the orphanage, widows, clothing the naked and so on? Log on same time tomorrow to find out.

Son's and not Slaves

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, my write-up was based on Romans 8:9-11 where we were able to understand that as the Holy Spirit lives in us, He vitalises, restores life to our body. As the soul gets transformed by the new Spirit of God in us, the transformed soul [mind, will, and emotion] affects the body, as the body reflects whom the soul follows. Today, I would go further, covering verses 12-17 of Romans 8.

Just as I have emphasised, once you have the Spirit of God/Christ [Holy Spirit] in you, you then live according to the Holy Spirit and not of the flesh, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14). The Message version of Romans 8:15-17 says,

“This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!”

In understanding this new life, we need to know that this new life is not a spirit of bondage like the life Jesus set us free from, rather, through this new life we have received a Spirit of adoption, the Spirit of sonship, this is what makes us Sons of God, and Jesus the firstborn. As a result of this we are joint heirs with Christ, as God our Father sees us as one with Christ, thus we have every inheritance Jesus has. Whatever Jesus goes through, we would also go through the same thing. You need to always remember this part your new life, the moment you receive Jesus as Lord with the Holy Spirit as your new life, you seize to be an ordinary person, you are just as Jesus is and you need to be conscious of that, you are a Son and not a slave of God.

The Transformation Starts NOW

Hello everyone,

When someone comes to you and say, “Do you know Jesus loves you?” this, the question isn’t just for the unsaved, but also for the saved, because we would never get to fully understand the depth of how much Jesus loves us. I was going through the Epistle of Romans 8, but I just took a short break and discussed other areas, but today, I intend to look at verses 9-11 of Romans 8. Recently, I’ve been emphasising on the truth that the moment anyone receives Jesus into his or her life, their old life dies and Jesus comes in as the new life, in other words, Jesus becomes their life, and everything that happens to Jesus in the Spirit becomes the life of the newly converted exactly. Today, I would make reference to our bodies and how the Spirit of Christ can affect it.

For those born of God, Romans 8:9 explains that as one born of God the Holy Spirit dwells in you and He is the one who directs and controls you, and as such you are not living the life of the flesh. Verse 10 explains that being born of God, the natural body is dead by reason of sin and guilt, but the spirit is alive because of the righteousness that has been imputed to you.

Romans 8:11 which is peak of it all says, “And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.” AMP. The Message version puts it thus, “It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!” This implies that when we had the old spirit, our soul [mind, will, and emotion] submitted to the spirit, which in turn controlled our bodies, because the body obeys whatever the soul commands, now that we carry the new Spirit which is the Spirit of Christ, our bodies would be revitalised to be exactly as Christ’s, because our bodies cannot be dead anymore since we house Life Himself. As the Life lives in us, our bodies are bound to reflect the Life of who owns the body.

Haven’t you read in 1 Corinthians 3:16 which says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” or haven’t you also read 1 Corinthians 6:19 which says, “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” God does not dwell in inferior places, which is also clear to say in line Romans 8:11 that God “restore[s] to life [our] mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in [us]. This is why Sons of God are not meant to be sick, be diseased, or have any form of inferiority in their bodies, because their bodies house God Himself!

Apostle Peter said in 1 Peter 1:23, “You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.” AMP. This is why when anyone born of God lays hands on the sick, it is the immortal life of God that flows through them into the sick and cleanse them from impurities, the same goes to bringing the dead back to life. If you are a Son of God, you need to know what you carry—you carry the Life of God in you. And the Life of God MUST affect your body. Or do you not know you are not meant to grow old or weak, because those are the signs of the old life which was bound to die, but with the new life in you, you’re meant to get stronger and stronger, as your body is metamorphosing into the fullness of Christ as you keep feeding on His Word [thus, knowing who you really are].

It won’t make any sense for the Spirit and the soul alone to be transformed and leaving the body behind, the body must be transformed just as Christ’s body was transformed when He was raised. The bodily transformation doesn’t start at the second coming, it starts NOW!

Why Curses Cannot Affect You

Hi, everyone,

Blessings and curses, these two are terms we are familiar with. Both terms come from words showing a person’s expression from the heart towards another, these words could be blessing or curse, and if the receiver deserves it due to the action displayed, the person could be affected by the words spoken.

In the scriptures, we must have read or heard about the popular blessings and curses chapter of Deuteronomy 28, where 14 verses are for blessings, while 54 verses are for curses, making a total of 68 verses in the chapter. Many of us believe these chapter and expect that curses could affect a person. Many also believe in the generational curse which the scriptures say could run down to the fourth generation, (ref.: Exodus 34:7). Is it possible not to be affected by curses?

The truth about all these is that blessings and curses still exist, but curses cannot affect everyone anymore. When the Adam fell, mankind was affected as the spirit of man was imperfect and was carnal, thus was enmity against God, (ref.: Romans 8:6-7), so everything man did was wrong, and for man to know this there had to be a laws in place to serve as a check. The law wasn’t meant to perfect us, rather it was meant to show us how imperfect we were and the need for a saviour which is the very important factor many have failed to understand, what do I mean?

As mankind was imperfect, the curses of Deuteronomy 28 and any other curse due to man’s imperfections could affect mankind. The point here was that there was a need for a saviour, right? Which was what Jesus Christ came for. Galatians 3:10-14 explains what happened when our saviour came,

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.” Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

The presence of the curse originated from sin, and to clear the curse is to get rid of its source—sin, and this is what Jesus did on the cross, He took every curse placed on us upon Himself, and in exchange He gave us His life, we, in turn, became the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:21). God punished Jesus for our sake, in other words, the punishment that was meant for us was placed on Jesus, which includes the curses.

Jesus was raised with a brand new life from the grave, it is this brand new life of Christ that we now have, which is why when we receive Jesus into our lives, the cursed spirit dies and the new man who is Jesus now lives in us, as Christ is, so are we in this world, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 2:11-15, 1 John 4:17). If you say curses can affect you, then what you’re saying is that the curses can also affect Jesus, because we must understand is that whatever happens to Jesus is what affects us that’s all, because He is our life, you have been cut off from the generation of the old Adam and grafted into the life of the second/last Adam—Jesus, therefore, there is no generational curse that can affect you.

If any curse affects you, it is because you have been believing the lies of the devil, or you are ignorant of who you are in Christ, or you haven’t received Jesus as Lord, simple. AS A SON OF GOD, YOU CAN NEVER EVER BE UNDER A CURSE, ONLY THE BLESSINGS OF CHRIST JESUS OPERATES IN AND THROUGH YOU, DON’T LET ANYONE DECEIVE YOU.

THIS IS THE GOSPEL TRUTH!!

The Beautiful Mind

Hello everyone,

Today’s write-up is a continuation of my last write-up. It is a kind of emphasis on things which I consider important to take note of. Ephesians 4:23 says, “…let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.” NLT. Those born of God are expected to constantly renew and examine their thoughts and attitudes by the Spirit, why is this important? It is important in order to receive the beautiful mind. So, what is the beautiful mind?

The beautiful mind unlike any other is a mind where doubt, fear, unbelief, and lies of the devil cannot penetrate. The mind we were born with was a mind that the lies of the devil had taken over, full of unbelief, doubt, and fear. Jesus through His resurrection from the grave has brought a brand new life, but all we need to do to gain access to this new life is to believe this new life, (ref.: John 3:16). Jesus did not only offer us a brand new life, He has given us the beautiful mind, which is His mind.

The new life Jesus has offered us is the life which is above every sickness, diseases, infirmities, curses, death, depression and every oppression of the devil. This new life is full of perfect health, wealth, the life of God, joy, patience, peace of mind, gentleness, goodness, kindness, self-control, faith and love. This life is not just any life, it is the life of Christ Jesus; this life is Jesus Himself, and for us to always know that we have His life, He has given us His mind, (ref.:1 Corinthians 2:16), all these and more is the full package which Jesus has offered us. All we need to do is just to believe. As we believe in His grace which He has offered us, then we need to work out salvation in fear and trembling, Apostle said in Philippians 2:12-13. In verse 13 he said, “Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.” MSG.; also, as I said at the beginning, we are to examine ourselves daily, in so doing we establish the new life and the beautiful mind we have received—Jesus.

As we live this new life and operate using the beautiful mind of Christ which we have received, we would then clear to us that, sickness, diseases, poverty and every oppression of devil had been a lie all the while, because God has delivered us from of the kingdom and power of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son—Jesus, (ref.: Colossians 1:13).

The beautiful mind is the truth which is the mind of Christ, the devil keeps broadcasting lies, so in order not to fall prey, focus on the truth which you have received, keep studying the truth every day to yourself, and to do that, Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Do not be deceived the devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. He is not and would never be your friend, he wants to see your downfall, with the beautiful mind in you he can do nothing.

Why Jesus Called Himself The Truth

Hello everyone,

The mind is a very important tool which we all have and can what we need to know is that the power of the mind can make it good for us of screw things up for us, but how exactly are our minds expected to think?

As humans, we face challenges in our lives, such as illness, or any other negative things. But Jesus died to save the world, by saving the world, He freed us from infirmities, diseases, poverty, and anything that does not pertain to the life of Christ. So, what is the life of Christ?

Before I attend to the question above, we need to understand that for Jesus to have called Himself the truth implies that everything outside of Him is a lie, in other words, we have been living a lie for a long time. Jesus saved us from all appearances of evil, as God took us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Jesus His dear Son, so every appearance of evil is a lie because someone has been and is still lying to us, who is this person? The devil!

Jesus made us understand that the devil is the father of lies, and whatever he says is a lie which is his native dialect, (ref. John 8:44). Now, since we understand that the things that happen on earth are lies, what exactly is the Truth as Jesus said He is the Truth?

We have been saved by grace, not by our works so that no one should boast, (ref. Ephesians 2:8-9); for those who are born of God, their old life died, and a brand new life replaced that old life, and that life is the life of Jesus, in other words, Jesus is the life of those born of God, (ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20, Colossians 3:4). Those born of God have received the fullness of Christ, in other words, as Christ is exactly in His fullness and completeness, that exact life is what has been given to everyone born of God, (ref. Colossians 2:9-10, 1 John 4:17). I’m getting somewhere with this.

I said that it wasn’t by our works that we received grace, but it was given as a gift from God. Jesus said He is the truth, which would imply that for Him being our means we have all things in Him. Colossians 1:17 says, “And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).” AMP. As God raised Jesus from the dead, all authority was given to Jesus and it is His life that those born of God live, because this life is the life of Jesus. Stay with me on this. Jesus is our life and the truth, only in Him can we find all things.

We often hear the statement, “all things are yours”, but many do not know where that statement came from, and if they do, many do not read the next verse which completes the whole statement made. 1 Corinthians 3:21-23 says, “Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours. And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.” All things are yours because you are of Christ because it is only in Him all things can be yours, in other words, His fullness is what we are to live one because He is our life! This is why He is the truth, we can only find the true life in Him. What does this mean? It means, only the things that Christ have are what we have, as He has all authority in heaven and on earth, likewise those born of God have the exact same thing, thus having the same Spirit. But why don’t we see the fullness of Christ everywhere, especially in the life of those born of God?

We don’t see the fullness of Christ in many lives born of God simply because they still believe the lies of the devil. For instance, we can’t fall sick anymore, we can’t be poor, we can’t be affected by any evil works of the devil, because we live the life of Christ, and Christ cannot be affected by those things. What we need to do after being born of God is to examine ourselves daily. Ephesians 4:23 says, “And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],” in the same vein Romans 12:2 talks of being transformed by the renewal of our minds, so that we would fulfil what the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God is for our lives is. Why are all these important because we live in a world full of lies, and the truth can only be found in Jesus, for He Himself said in John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” And He is the truth and has set the whole world free, and for as many who believes this truth, they would receive the new life, and the mind of Christ, (ref. 1 Corinthians 2:16).

This whole write-up is so loaded, I can’t break it into two or else you won’t get the full picture, even though this is a summary [laughs]. Now we know why Jesus called Himself the Truth.

Relax, Jesus Didn't Die For Nothing

Hello everyone,

Last time I looked into Romans 8:1-2 which emphasised that there is no longer any condemnation to those who are born of God because of the new Spirit of Christ, the new Spirit of Christ in those born of God have a Spirit to please God which affects how they live and behave. Today, I’ll continue with a look at Romans 8.

Romans 8:3-5 speaks of sin being subdued by Jesus, thus allowing the righteous and just requirement of the Law being met in those who are born of God, thereby not living according to the dictates of the flesh, but being controlled by the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:6 says, “Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].” AMP.

What surprised me is that the mind of the flesh is sense and reason, but without the Holy Spirit. The way man reasons with his senses which seems normal would bring death, and why is that? It is so because the Spirit which the first Adam got from his disobedience was the Spirit of death, and by death, it means everything that comes out of the Spirit, the thought, words, deeds, actions, reactions and others. This implies that once our Spirit isn’t the Holy Spirit then the result leads to death.

On the other hand, the mind of the Holy Spirit is life and peace which lives forever because it is attached to life who is Jesus, which means that any reason is being guided by the Holy Spirit and it leads to life, the life of the Holy Spirit is a pure life and not a psychological reshaping of the mind without an actual change of the mind, because if there wasn’t a real change of the Spirit, then there was no reason for Jesus to have died, it wouldn’t have made any sense to die for nothing. Jesus simply would have taught us how to work on our mind, and He would have become a philosopher having His own theories of life. so, it remains clear that Jesus’ sole aim was to save the world by giving us a new life, so don’t take this for granted.

Why Are You Not Condemned?

Happy weekend everyone,

I was going through the Epistle of Romans chapter 8, even though I have gone through it several times, I found it more revealing, in other words, it appeared deeper than I thought. Surprisingly, scriptures seem deeper than before to me these days, that’s a sign of growth for me. Well, I’ve decided to go through this chapter starting from today. It’s my favourite chapter in the book of Romans. So, shall we?

Using the Amplified version, Romans 8:1 and 2 say, “THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death” There was Romans 7 before Romans 8, definitely. So, how did Apostle Paul reach this conclusion of Romans 8:1?

Apostle Paul in Romans 7 wrote of the power of the flesh, how it was empowered by the law. He said in verses 14 and 15, “We know that the Law is spiritual; but I am a creature of the flesh [carnal, unspiritual], having been sold into slavery under [the control of sin. For I do not understand my own actions [I am baffled, bewildered]. I do not practice or accomplish what I wish, but I do the very thing that I loathe [which my moral instinct condemns].” AMP. What Paul meant here was that the Law is spiritual given to him who is unspiritual, how then would he keep this Law, because any time he intends to keep the Law, it is that which is contrary to the Law that he does!

He went ahead in verses 24 and 25 of Romans 7, “O unhappy and pitiable and wretched man that I am! Who will release and deliver me from [the shackles of] this body of death? O thank God! [He will!] through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One) our Lord! So then indeed I, of myself with the mind and heart, serve the Law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.” AMP. These were the last verses before Romans 8:1.

What Apostle Paul meant in Romans 7:24-25 was that no matter how he tried to keep the Law, he couldn’t keep it, because he had a sinful spirit which he inherited from Adam. In other words, no man can become righteous from his actions. This was the reason why Apostle Paul cried out asking who would save him from this life of sin, and it was also the reason why he thanked God because it is only through Jesus that he gained freedom from the life of sin. Which was why he said in Romans 8:1 that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the spirit.” AMP.

Remember, you do not become righteous through your actions, but through your Spirit, that is having the new Spirit of Jesus, as Romans 8:2 says, “For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.” AMP. The new being is the new Spirit of Christ, who lives the God kind of life; this life is above the Law (ref. Romans 6:14), because by having this new Spirit, and you are no longer compelled by the Law to do what is right.

The new life you have is above the Law, in other words, what the Law was meant to achieve, you have surpassed, because that which is greater than the Law has freed you, which is why as one who is born of God, you don’t follow the Law, but you follow the Law of your new Spirit.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog your new Spirit always wants to do what is right, unlike your old Spirit which was bound to do that which was against the will of God. Log on tomorrow as I continue going through the book of Romans chapter 8.

For Without Him You Can Do Nothing

Hello everyone,

There is a song I enjoyed singing when I was a child, well, I still enjoy the song till now. The song started with what Jesus said in John 15 about Him being the Vine and we the branches. Aside from singing the song, I enjoy reading John chapter 15. Today, my focus is on John 15:5.

John 15:5 says, “I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.” AMP. The Message Bible puts the underlined thus, “Separated, you can’t produce a thing.” Jesus said, He is the Vine and we are the branches. A Vine is a climbing plant that produces grapes, the vine has branches attached to it and sustains it. Without the vine, the branches cannot survive; if any branch is cut off the vine, it withers and dies. Jesus said the same of Himself and those born of God, without Him we can do nothing.

Let’s take a look at a hammer, the hammer is strong and fitted, but even with that, the hammer cannot drive nails through a wood by itself, it needs the help of a professional carpenter to drive nails through the wood the right way. If an ordinary person uses the hammer, he most likely won’t drive the nails as good as the carpenter this is what Jesus meant when He said without Him we can do nothing.

We have received the Holy Spirit through Jesus. He is the same Spirit in Jesus, in other words, without the Holy Spirit, there is no Jesus! The Holy Spirit serves as our counsellor, guardian, helper, direction, and many more. The Holy Spirit keeps us in line with the path of Jesus by teaching us all things.

Man, unknown to him do not know that He is blind and in darkness, he is used to it and feels that is how life is meant to be. He cannot see beyond his nose, has no idea of what the future holds, as I have said before and would say again, he lives his life based on assumption and probability, in other words, guesswork. But to be attached to Jesus implies you live the life of Christ, the One in whom all authority in heaven and earth has been given to and at His name every knee would bow and every tongue would confess, in heaven, earth and under the earth, this is the person we are meant to be attached to.

If you are not attached to Jesus, you would wear out like a plant who has been uprooted from its roots, this was what happened to Adam, who then affected the whole world. But when you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, and your life would be firmly rooted in Christ, in other words, we would be as the branches attached to the true Vine, and be sustained forever.

For without Him we can do nothing, without the carpenter, the hammer can do nothing, likewise without Jesus, we can do nothing.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.” Romans 8:14

Sometimes, Take A Closer Look

Hi everyone,

Have you ever read a book or something and felt you gone through it, and then what you’ve studied happen to hit you, like a sudden deeper understanding of what you studied, and you’re like, “Woah! It never hit me this way”, yeah that’s how a verse of the Bible hit me so hard that I’m still recovering from, well I don’t wish to recover from it actually [chuckles].

So, what was the verse that so hit so hard? It was Hebrews 11:6, the verse which I have written about over and over and over again on my blog site. But I would write on what really hit me so hard, yeah, it won’t be new to you, but when you calm down and properly ponder and meditate over it, I believe it would most likely hit you, maybe more than I was hit.

What does Hebrews 11:6 say? “But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].” AMP. So what really hit me here? The verse says, “without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him [God]”.

Ok, God is not a liar, in other words, there is nothing God says, that doesn’t exist, in other words, anything God says must come to pass, or better still exist as He says it [Numbers 23:19, Genesis 1]. Now, grace, as we know, implies receiving a free gift of the life of Christ, in other words, Jesus’ life became yours right? Yeah, it did.

Now, when you look at the life of Christ and find out that it has been given to you, it looks too good to be true because it looks like things beyond our wildest dreams, but it is true. Now, this is where Hebrews 11:6 hit me. The verse made me understand that by not believing all God gave me through Jesus, then I am not pleasing God that way.

To believe all that God has given us by grace through faith is by believing. As it has been established, God cannot lie, therefore, all that He said He had given us is actually true, we just need to believe it, and to believe by faith pleases God. I found out that the times I had unbelief over what He said He had given me, God wasn’t pleased. It then occurred to me that it didn’t make sense to doubt what is true, especially coming from the One who never lies, this was the big hit. This actually strengthened my faith in Him all the more.

The second part of Hebrews 11:6 says, “For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].” To believe in what God said about you, you must first believe that God Himself exist or else you would never believe what He said because you don’t know who He is and that He never lies. And to prevent that, the verse says, we need to diligently seek Him [God] out, and this is through His word.

It is important for us to know more about Jesus of whom without Him we won’t have the true life. We shouldn’t be ignorant if we think life was fine without Jesus. God has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams, all we have to do is to believe in Him and allow these blessings flow through us, and with that please God.

This Is How Grace Works

Happy weekend everyone,

Grace is what everyone wants to see in everything they do, but how do we know when grace appears in our lives? Many feel grace is seeing more returns than the regular from our regular work, such as more money more than the worth of what we did, but that isn’t exactly how grace works in our lives. So, how does grace work?

Going straight to the point of what grace is, is to understand the origin of grace itself. Grace came about when Jesus Christ was raised from the grave. To be honest, grace has nothing to do with your effort at all, in other words, it isn’t the extraordinary return based on our work, rather it is living another person’s life, and what do I mean by that?

God created man to live a perfect life, in other words, having His life; Adam would have achieved this if He ate from the tree of life and not the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, so as we know he ate from the wrong tree which made him completely imperfect because he was separated from God.

God had laws given to man which man couldn’t keep because he was imperfect. The law wasn’t given to making us perfect but was given to us to show us that we need a saviour. Jesus was the only man who kept the law and every other God put on the table, in other words, Jesus was the only perfect human, and as such was one with the Father [God]. No other man could meet up to God’s standard as Jesus did.

Jesus was given all authority in heaven and earth, in a layman language, every goodie beyond your wildest dreams was given to Jesus. Now, what do all these have to do with grace?

John 3:16 says who so ever believes in Jesus would not perish but have everlasting life; Ephesians 2:9 says that we are saved not by works but by grace so that no one would boast. What does that mean?

The moment we received Jesus as Lord, we die and receive the new life of Christ. Now, because we have the new life of Christ, everything Christ got because of His perfect life was given to us on a platter, the only way we can see this work in our lives is just by believing it [that we have everything Jesus got], it is that simple! Remember we don’t have a “life” again, because our life now is the life of Christ, but it doesn’t end there.

I said those who are born of God have received the perfect life of Christ on a platter, all we need to do is to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (ref. Romans 10:9). Now, with all these, how is it applied?

As Christ has saved us from our sin, the joy is so much that you would want to tell everyone around you the good news. Those who heard this news and became born of God received the Holy Spirit in them, it is the Holy Spirit in them that directs those born of the Spirit how to spread this good news, and it comes in different forms as the Holy Spirit directs you. As the Holy Spirit guides your every move, your faith grows more and more as your understanding about what Christ has done get clearer by the day, thereby making you believe all the more as doubt, fear, unbelief reduces more and more, thereby allowing the grace to flow.

Now, as you live more and more in Christ, you unlock more blessings of grace upon your life, the truth is that all you just want to do is just spread the good news is whatever way the Holy Spirit has called you, be it in business, entertainment, health and so on, and of cause you go about doing good. This is why a person could get a brand new car because it is needed for him to propagate the gospel. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 that we should seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and all other things shall be added. The other things have a reason for its appearance, and it is because of the kingdom work.

All these things do not happen based on our physical work, they come as the need appears, this is where we see what Jesus earned come to play just like that. This is the gospel truth.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Really, Why Am I On This Planet? (Part 2)

Hi everyone,

In my last write-up, using Ephesians 4:11-13, I was able to explain how those born of God are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. This would lead to knowing what we are here to do earth.

According to Ephesians 4:11-13, I explained that we are meant to have the fullness of God in us, in other words, there shouldn’t be any difference between Christ and us, on how to live. The first part God wants man to become is to have the fullness of Christ in us, so, with all these, what exactly is meant to here on earth?

Since we have the life of Christ, let’s take a look at how Jesus lived His life while He was here on earth in Acts 10:38, “How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.” AMP. Jesus had the Holy Spirit in Him, which everyone born of God has, but one thing was clear about what Jesus did, He went about doing good, how? By using the powers of the Holy Spirit. Of course, that’s so obvious [rolling eyes]. But what did the Holy Spirit do in Him?

God has given everyone a talent or a gift, it is this that the Holy Spirit uses in us to carry out the good deed. Jesus was a person full of hospitality and the Holy Spirit empowered that in Him as He went about doing good. The question now is, do you know the talent God has given you because this is what the Holy Spirit would empower you to go about doing good.

The whole essence of doing good is that the world is full of evil, and an act of good empowered by the Holy Spirit allows the unsaved to see the love of God through you, and as a result receive His love and Grace through Christ in you.

No matter what you do here on earth, it has to what God has put in you and would be empowered by the Holy Spirit, this is because the nature of man is selfish and only wants things for himself. Jesus said He came not to be served but to served, this is the same with those born of God, you are meant to serve, by going about doing good, in so doing the world would become a better place.
