You can't focus on more than one thing at a time.
Focus on the promises of God for your life. By focusing on these promises, you're moving forward.
Worries on the other hand slows you down.
A few days ago, I wrote on Worry Cuts Off Your Spiritual Signal. Today's write-up has "worry" in the mix of the focus, which is quite different from the previous focus.
Time is of the essence, no matter what. The creator of time—God, made us understand that it doesn't wait for anyone. Time isn't fast nor slow, but consistent in its movement. And because man can be inconsistent in what he sometimes does. Time may appear fast and he would want to cover up for the time lost. And this in many ways brings worry. This is one reason.
Another reason time appears fast comes from probabilities and assumptions. When a route is taken to get results but doesn't work, another route is quickly taken to see if the result could be achieved. Speed is of the essence to quickly cover up the time wasted. And this is how man lives because he rests on assumptions and probabilities. What seems to always produce the required result today could suddenly change tomorrow. And of course, worry is involved.
The only way a man can appear fast and worry-free is to rest on the promises of God Almighty, which is on the finished work of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We can only focus on one thing at a time. The more we focus on many things, we start crawling. But when we have the life of Christ in us, and focus on His promises by faith in Christ Jesus, we see how we get things done.
No matter how things go, as long as we rest on Jesus, He will continually guide us and lead us on the right path. Trust and obey Him and see how you appear more consistent than even time itself.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t? Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
