Do You Listen?

I know a couple who love each other so much. In the early days of their relationship, they got to a point where the lady said the relationship appeared to be one-sided. But something between them was improved, which led to strengthening their relationship and love for each other. So, what was the thing they did to strengthen their relationship? It was improved communication. The lack of communication weakens relationships. And this isn't different between God and us His Sons and Daughters.

As Sons and Daughters of God, it is always important to talk to God, as He is our Father. But there are times when it looks as though God isn't listening to our talk or request to Him. This in many cases is because we talk too much which prevents us from listening to Him when He speaks.

Prayer is good, but the question is, what do you pray about? Is it going contrary to the finished works of Christ Jesus, or is it a prayer of ignorance in terms of what Jesus Christ has already done for us?

Vain repetition as though God didn't hear you the first, second or third time you spoke with Him. When you keep on talking and talking, over and over again, you miss out on the word of the Lord.

Do not forget, that every relationship requires effective communication. And every relationship should not be one-sided. When we speak to God, we should not be carried away that we do not listen when He speaks and leads us in the path right for us to follow. Remember, for without Him, we can do nothing, (ref.: John 15:5), which makes it paramount that we should always sit at His feet to allow Him to teach and lead us.

As we are patient to listen, we see how we fall in line in fulfilling His purpose for our lives. Listen twice as much as you talk, and see His glory shine in your daily lives.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
