Hi everyone, I know your week is going great.
In my previous write-up, I wrote on The Power Behind Your Words. And in continuation of that, I will answer the question I posed at the end of the last write-up, which is to know why people don't see the privileges of Grace despite speaking them based on the word of the Lord.
I had written last time that words give birth to action. In other words, there is no action without words. Words are causes that lead to action, which is the effect of the word said. I also said that words however follow a hierarchical system, based on levels of authority.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 that all authority in heaven and on earth have been given to Him. This implies that He has the highest level authority. And those who are His Sons and Daughters, who operate under Him are endowed with authority when they speak.
The authority of Jesus comes to the point where, when a Son or Daughter of God under Jesus say they are healed, then they are healed, or when they they drive out demons, the demons leave. The authority is amazing.
So, to answer the question the know why people don't see these privileges of Grace despite speaking them based on His word. The reason is simple. When you speak the word to yourself or to situations, you unknowingly negate that which you spoke through doubt or unbelief.
Apostle James said in James 1:6-8, "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." What he meant here is that anyone who asks the Lord a thing, which includes declaration, should ask with faith, which is the believing that Jesus had done it even before asking. And that man should not have a double mind, or else he shouldn't expect anything from the Lord.
It is kind of like planting a seed, and then taking it up again, then deciding to plant again, and taking that seed up again, thus not making up your mind if you want to seed to be planted or not.
When we declare the word of the Lord, take healing for instance. When you say you are healed, the moment you doubt what you said, what you did was to say, "no, I'm not healed". And all these come as a result of the polluted and sinful world that our soul is used to. So, it is very easy for the soul to adapt to unbelief unless it is renewed, (ref.: Romans 12:2). The mind must know that it is healed because of Jesus' resurrection.
Jesus once told His disciples who could not heal an epileptic boy despite commanding the foul spirit to leave. Jesus said in Matthew 17:21, "However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”.
Jesus had earlier rebuked them for lack of faith. Which implied they doubt at some point. And prayer and fasting is a time of dedication with the Lord, where renewal of the mind takes place. And when the mind is renewed, the strong will that the infirmity had gone is seen even before you say anything. All because you recognise the authority from which you draw strength from when you speak. Therefore, action follows in line with the undoubted word of Jesus.
Now, some don't doubt immediately, but later, all because they were expecting immediate sign of the words spoken coming to life. What they don't know is that the job was done immediately the word was spoken. An example is when Jesus cursed the fig tree. The Mark's account said Jesus cursed the tree, but they only heard what He said. It wasn’t till the next day that they saw the result of what Jesus said, (ref.: Mark 11:14, 21).
However, in the Matthew's account, the tree withered away immediately (ref.: Matthew 21:19). There is no contradiction. The moment Jesus spoke, the tree lost it's life, but no one saw the result till the next day as the effect of the words of Jesus were seen the next day.
Never doubt when you speak with authority, because it is not with your authority you spoke with. The authority you spoke with is the greatest authority there is. All you need to do after the declaration is thanksgiving on and on for what He has done. This is important because the devil will want to sow seeds of unbelief and doubt to you. You must rebuke it and stand firm on the word that is true. It is a continuous process to ensure that you are committed to the word of the Lord, and consistent in giving thanks to Him. You say it, it is done. This is how to put your words to action.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
