It's Just a Waste of Time Without Him

Hello everyone,

Obtaining knowledge is wonderful, and in this generation, we have formal ways of obtaining knowledge by going to learning institutions which we call schools. After completing the training in which you have attained the acquired amount of knowledge you subscribed for, you receive a degree and a certificate which states what you have studied and the grade you finished with after completion. This is so nice, but what if after going through a particular discipline of study and then God tells you that wasn’t what He wanted you to study, how would you feel?

Today, we take a lot of things for granted and God is gradually leaving our decision making and we feel we can take decisions on our own, especially when we see the high level of intellectual prowess in our technological advancement. But in all these, we must call a spade a spade, not a big spoon. Romans 8:7-8 says, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

To be carnally minded as many have associated it is one-sided, as they feel it is the display of the works of the flesh, but what they fail to understand is that doing things, making decisions without being led by the Holy Spirit is also being carnally minded. And being carnally minded is enmity against God, it means being in the flesh and those who are in the flesh cannot please God!

God has given us the Holy Spirit to everyone who decided to walk with Him by accepting Jesus as their personal [and not collective] Lord and Saviour. Collective there would imply receiving Jesus on behalf of another which is not so. When you receive Jesus as Lord of your life, you receive the Holy Spirit who lives with you forever and serves as your helper, comforter, counsellor, and strengthener. He is the One who confirms to you what God has given you to do, where He wants you to go, and how He wants you to live your life, and this means every decision we are to take should be guided by the Holy Spirit. This is why we trust in the Lord with all of our heart and lean not on our own understanding, (ref.: Proverbs 3:5).

Many times we cry to God over matters He has sorted out, but because we didn’t consult Him first, we took matters into our own hands based on our human knowledge, but along the line, we get stuck. The point is that we didn’t decide when to come to the earth and which family or country to be born to, everyone was born for a purpose and only God knows the purpose and plans for every single person on earth. So, He is the One we must turn to for direction, we shouldn’t think we know it all.

Another thing also is that we might have been turning to God for directions, but feel some things are too trivial to bring to the Lord, but nothing is too trivial, we must bring everything to God. This is why Jesus said we shouldn’t worry about what to eat, drink or wear, these may appear trivial, but as trivial as they look, we should get guidance from the Holy Spirit. Sickness, poverty, depression, and many similar things won’t just appear at your doorstep all of a sudden, they come as a result of areas we have neglected due to ignorance or laziness. And those who walk with God don’t fall sick or get depressed, because walking with God is walking in the path of righteousness, thus walking in the path of Jesus, which also mean, living the Jesus seated at the right hand of God life here on earth. Yes, we are all growing, but God doesn’t punish His children with things He has lifted us from, we only experience those things because we didn’t take them to Jesus for directions. 1 John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, hears us.” Everything we do must be according to His will. Therefore, we must not fail to trust Him and lean not on our understanding as He is always there to direct us every time, but only the willing gets directed as He doesn’t force us to obey Him, but tell us the truth.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

How To Speak By Faith

Hello everyone,

Faith is a word we hear every time from the mouth of many, and if not all the Sons of God, but the question, is do we know how to use faith to live, or do we know how to speak by faith. And as 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervour; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.” The Amplified Bible, and we are to live by faith. A popular verse of the Bible says without faith it is impossible to please God, (ref.: Hebrews 11:6), which implies that there is no way you can call yourself a Son of God and won’t live by faith. In essence, if the absence of faith cannot please God, it implies that we must always function in faith, as we know the just shall live by faith. So, how do we speak by faith, taking that into cognisance first? This is my focus today.

The very first thing to understand is that before you walk, live or speak by faith, you must, first of all, know what Grace is. As I've said in one of my blogs, Grace is a person, He is the full package that we never knew we were worth having, and why is that? It is because all that we would ever need in our life is found in Jesus. Jesus is completeness personified, and everything God has given because in Him are riches in every measure beyond what our mind can comprehend. Jesus is a brand new life, very different from the one we met when we were born. What we need to do is to know what is contained in Jesus which is what we received as Grace from God through faith in Jesus. What is this faith process and how do we speak through faith?

One thing we must know is that faith is different from hope, this is because many times we speak using hope and we think it is faith. For instance, to tell God to heal you is a prayer of hope, but to thank God for healing you, even when there is no physical sign of your healing YET, that is faith! Faith rests on Jesus’ effort and not your self-effort. Every form of sin, from the past to present and the future, [which includes, poverty, sickness, diseases, depression, death and many more related to this] was placed on Jesus. And we in exchange got His life, which includes, wisdom, knowledge, wealth, perfect health, life and not death, joy, peace and much more. This is why we when we speak don’t speak in future tenses, but in past tense, thus, understanding that they have happened.

Furthermore, when you speak by faith, you speak like God who calls things that are not as though they are, (ref.: Romans 4:17). Faith is not something that doesn’t exist or would exist, rather, it is something that exists already that we would walk into. Faith is like a written book, and we are acting the script from chapter one to the end. Everything God said we are, is in the script, and everything has been provided for us ahead of time, and they all belong to you according to what God has provided.

So, when you speak by faith, using health, for instance, you rebuke anything that is not good health, and then you say something like, “Father, thank you that You healed me, and I am healed.” You could quote scriptures supporting this claim, such as 1 Peter 2:24. In the case of finance, you rebuke the financial challenge, and then you say something like, “Father, thank you that you have never ceased to provide for my needs.” And if it is a bill you need to clear, you mention it, by thanking Him for clearing the bill. You need to close your eyes and see yourself as your needs being met because they have actually been met. What we see around us are lies which don’t support the truth of the Grace of God in His provision for us. God says we are healthy, the world says we aren’t, someone is lying and it isn’t God for He cannot conceive lies. Anything God says must come to pass, but lies cannot come to pass because they don’t exist!

Seeking First The Kingdom of God is No Joke

 Hello everyone,

Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things would be added unto you, is a very popular verse of the Bible said by many Christians and even non-Christians know the scripture, which was gotten from Matthew 6:33 and Luke 12:31. I have written on the verse more than once, but each time I write on this verse, it comes with a deeper revelation, which is what today’s write-up all about.

We all have our personal plans and agenda which we intend to achieve, but the moment you come to Christ to accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour, you have to drop all your ambition and plans because to receive Christ into your life is to receive Christ as your life with His plans and purposes which He as designed for you, this is entering His kingdom, thus making Him your life, but you wonder if your needs would be met, and that was what Jesus made reference to in Matthew 6 from verse 31 which says, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”

Now, we are not to worry about what to eat, drink, wear, or worry about anything that troubles us, maybe, our bills, house rent, school fees. All these appear as though we would be foolish if we don’t worry about these things because, by thinking about these things, we are strategizing on how to solve them, Jesus is telling us not to worry because God knows that we need these things. And rather than worry, we should “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Why?

Everyone born of God has been given as a duty to fulfill, which when we focus on our duty, it is seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness. What Jesus is telling us is that when our focus is on His work, we are living a life of faith.

When we walk with God, we are meant to be led by the Holy Spirit which is an act of faith. Therefore, whatever we do, whether in giving, and other things, we are being led by the Holy Spirit, and it is an act of seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Then our act of faith is what pleases God, and then we see all that we need is added to us, in other words, what we need isn’t our business, but the business of God. What should be our business and focus is His work, and in doing His work, He makes everything we need available.

When you are stuck on a financial issue, for instance, it isn’t your job to start being anxious over what to do, what you are meant to do at that moment is to know what God wants you to do and do it. Your focus should on His work and not you being anxious over your financial trouble. As your attention is on His work, you are living by faith understanding that He has taken care of your need, and you would see your financial troubles disappear. This is the truth, and what Jesus wants us to do, our focus should be on that which He has called us to do, and when we focus on it, we please the Lord God, which is an act of faith by us, and we see our needs met.

It doesn’t happen like magic, the truth is that what we don’t know is that when we take our attention off our worries and focus on what we were called to do by calling, resources would be needed for us to carry out His assignment, and this is where all other things are then added, and we find out that what we were worrying over was answered.

God cannot give you an assignment without providing the resources and tools you need in getting it done. But if you don’t focus on His assignment, you won’t get the resources you need to get His assignment done, and your worries linger because, in the process of His provision of resources, your needs are being met! So, let’s be wise

God and Sinners Reconciled

Happy Sunday everyone,

Christmas to me is my best season of the year. Everything just feels so wonderful, from the weather, the decorations, the food, the spirit of giving, and most of all the reason why Christmas itself exist, which is the birth of Jesus. But why is Christmas so important that we celebrate it every year? The truth is that it is the birth of Jesus that actually makes us celebrate Christmas because if Jesus hadn’t fulfilled His purpose which was crowned with His resurrection, we won’t be giving thanks to God every year for His birth in the first place. But let’s take a look at why Christmas is very so important to us all.

When I was much younger, I acted Christmas plays about the nativity story, which was the first Christmas. This event is so important to the entire universe that celebrating every year in modern day is not unnecessary.

In the Gospel of Luke chapter, we find where an angel appeared to country shepherds keeping watch over their sheep, “Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”” Luke 2:10-12. Just then heavenly host started praising God saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:14. The question here is why shepherds?

The answer is simple and in three major reasons: 1. Jesus is the good Shepherd, and announcing to the shepherds is telling them that the Shepherd of all shepherds is born. 2. The angel made it clear that the good tiding is to all men which include the normal, regular and even poor people, which shows no sentiment, and Jesus has come for the whole world. 3. It also shows what Apostle Paul said that not many wise men are called, so those who would value the message were told. But with all these, why did Jesus come for angels to be so joyous?

The angels finally saw their God and our God as a man, a miracle that has never happened, and a prophecy fulfilled. Also, Jesus was the only one born without blemish, so it's a sign that the salvation of man had come, as only a man without blemish could save mankind, which was why the angel said, “I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.”

Since the fall of man in Genesis, mankind had been separated from God and were sinners thus not carrying the spirit of God. They were doomed to be put to death, unless the blood of a man without blemish, which was the only way that mankind could be saved, and Jesus was the answer to that. The reason for Jesus’ coming was to reconcile man back to God by putting an end to the grip of the devil on man. Jesus' birth represents a brand new beginning as Jesus is the new and last Adam, that is why He was the only one to put an end to the evil grip of the devil on man.

The birth of Jesus was the success of a heavenly project, that which took the devil by surprise. The devil was in trouble because God Himself became a man.

Any time I reason God becoming mankind, it strengthens my spirit man, because if God in His majesty and greatness, which is incomprehensible to man, then, who am I that I shouldn’t be humble and allow Him to use me. His birth makes me understand that God can go to every length to save the ones He loves. The birth of Jesus allows us to understand that with God all things are possible, and today, through the resurrection of Jesus, He is now King of kings, on earth and in heaven, and it all started with His birth. And because of His birth, mankind became reconciled back to God, even when we were condemned to death.

As we celebrate Christmas, we should always reflect the love of Christ in our giving because without God’s great gift, we won’t be alive to give to others. Once again Merry Christmas to you all, enjoy.

Don't Forget The Reason For The Season

 Happy boxing day everyone,

When Christmas comes, we see a lot of decorations, the Christmas tree, food, and the white-bearded man in red and touch of white bearing gifts—Santa Claus, all these are nice. But even though Christmas day has passed, we are still in the Christmas season. One thing I have come to notice is that many people have forgotten the reason for the season, in fact, some especially children of today don’t know the reason for the season which is the birth of Jesus Christ.

What many children know is Santa Claus and Christmas tree, but forget Jesus. Even though Santa bears gifts, we shouldn’t forget the reason why we give during Christmas which is because God gave us Jesus to save our lives. The devil has crept in and has started making people forget the original story behind Christmas. Santa Claus is not the reason for Christmas, Jesus is, and those who are Sons of God should not forget this. We should always make Jesus the centre of attraction and not Santa because this is what the devil wants, as he wants us to forget Jesus in everything we do.

Yes, Santa is nice as he bears gifts to kids, but the emphasis should be placed more on Jesus than on any other thing on Christmas. And not just Christmas but in everything we do, for without Him we can do nothing, without Him, we would have ceased to exist.

Santa is an imaginary fellow, but Jesus is real and alive forever. We should not be ignorant of the devices of the devil, we should always be alert, because deceit is his way of life, and God would give us the strength to keep on keeping on. AMEN.

More Than Gold

 Merry Christmas everyone,

Why was the birth of Jesus so special that made the angels dance and sing glorious songs in the heavens? What made the birth of Jesus special?

In simple terms, the permanent solution to man’s problems had arrived on earth. The angels had to see their creator in the form of man, who also stood as the sacrifice that would set man free permanently of their sin problem. It was something more than gold to behold, not like anything else to behold.

The wise men I would believe weren’t just led by God to where Jesus was born, but the gifts they gave were also directed by God: Gold, frankincense, and myrrh, which summarised Jesus’ life here on earth. But His birth was golden, not just about where He came from in terms of His royal status. But have you suffered a thing seriously to the point that it was just to take your life that was left, till someone introduced the permanent solution to your problem? This is how the birth of Jesus feels to me.

I don’t know about you, but the birth of Jesus is so important to me that if Jesus wasn’t born, He wouldn’t have died to take away our sins, and there wouldn’t have been a resurrection to give us a brand new life.

To imagine the story of Jesus’ birth, as you go through the early chapters of the gospels makes me cry tears of joy, and appreciate how much God loves us, that He went through all these for us, rather than just wiping us away which would have been easier if I were in His shoes.

If we say because of His resurrection we have a brand new life, we should also remember that because of His birth we have a brand new life, the beginning phase in anything is very important. Once this fails, your vision is useless. I don’t know about you, but for me, the first coming of Jesus in reference to His birth is more than gold.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Our Gift Was a Peace Offering

Happy Christmas eve everyone!

Being in the Christmas season, Christmas is a time where we are reminded that Jesus was born to redeem man from the grip of the devil and unite them to God, which was His purpose on earth through His death. His coming was a new beginning as He is the new and last Adam which was why the heavenly host gave glory to God, God and sinners reconciled, God became a man, all these were a perfect heavenly plan which was fulfilled in Jesus. And today being the day before Christmas, we need to properly understand God’s gift to man, and this is my focus in today's write-up.

The popular Bible verse of John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God gave us a gift Who is Jesus, and why is the gift of God very important to us? He [and not it] is important because the gift of God became our peace offering. This offering explains a form of thanksgiving to God for what we have gained through the fulfillment of Jesus’ coming. Jesus stood as a propitiation for our sins, in other words, He stood in our place when we were meant to be condemned, He took the condemnation for our sake and gave us His righteousness as an exchange.

Jesus took our place and God’s wrath was satisfied. And as a result of that God raised Him up and glorified Him. He was the new and last Adam, an Adam Who was not separated from God, not only was He not separated from God, He is God Himself, and also Man, in other words, Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. He came to end our sufferings so that we can have a brand new beginning. This is why if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old life has gone, the new life in Christ Jesus has come, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:17) every past record has been made clean, you have been reconciled back to God, because we have a brand new life under Jesus our Adam, what perfect gift God gave us (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:18).

So, as we share gifts, we should not just remember the reason for the season, we should also remember the purpose for the season, that He gave, so that we would know why and how to give. We are alive today because God gave, and His gift abides with us forever [to those who accepted Jesus our gift, as our personal Lord, Saviour and new life].

The True Key To Repentance

Hello everyone,

Christmas is a season of giving and sharing. I often hear people say that for God to send His only begotten Son to die, we need to come to repentance. But it’s easier said than done.

We keep talking about coming back to God in repentance, but one thing we fail to understand is that the process of coming back to God is the effect of something, in other words, there is something that naturally triggers an individual to come to repentance, until that is found, there would be no repentance and you can’t force anyone to repent when they haven’t seen the reason for. So, the question now is, what is that which represents the key to repentance, that thing that makes man naturally want to repent or move closer to God that cause which leads to the effect which is repentance?

We must understand again and again that it is not what we do that makes God love us, rather God loved us even when we didn’t love or know Him. This would imply that the only way we would love Him or come to repentance is by God doing something first. It is that thing that starts the engine of repentance. But guess what? God has done that thing already. If that’s the case, then why haven’t mankind repented, also why are some who claim to have repented thinking that it is what they do that makes God love them or bless them?

Grace may appear strange in the sense that it goes against the norm of society, in other words, it could like getting your pay before even working, and surprisingly not the other way round, but some would say that is not true because God created a system of sowing and reaping. This sounds very true and is also true, but when you take a closer look, you will find out that God gave us everything we would need even before working with Him. Then again, why haven’t we gotten these blessings? All these questions would keep popping up because the very first question hasn’t been answered, which is, that which starts the cause for haven’t been understood properly. Once that is understood, it serves as the foundation to your life, it serves as a guide to whatever thing you would ever do on this earth. So, what is that thing?

Jesus gave us the answer in The Gospel of John 3:16, when you study His way of life while He was here on earth from the scriptures, you would see how He displayed this answer, and it called many to repentance. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” so, what is the key point or the answer? LOVE! Love is the key to repentance. Many would say they knew that all the while, but how well do they understand what this love is because many have carried the fear of hell just because that was what they heard. They heard that if they don’t repent, they would die, this forced them to ‘repent’, which in the real and true sense didn’t come from their heart.

The moment you understand why Jesus died for us and the grace which God gave us through His Son, it is there and then alone that man naturally repent. To know the fullness of how much God loves you is to “blow your mind”. The question now is why haven’t many heard these? Jesus after displaying His love towards His disciples, sent them out to go and make disciples, in other words, teach them about the love of God and what He had done. But it happened that the message was corrupted along the way and some started spreading the message of fear.

Jesus is the light of the world and He also raised us to become salt and light of the world, by becoming true difference makers by spreading His love all over the world, establishing the brand new life. We are to display the love, it is when they see this love that it compels them to repent naturally. We are to spread the love of God which speaks of what and why Jesus came to this earth and why He died and what He obtained for us when He resurrected.

Our life should be based on love, everything we do should have the foundation of love. Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:13 said, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” It is love that opens our eyes to the blessings God had given to us. It is love that makes us have faith in Christ Jesus and enables us to receive the Grace, blessings, divine favour, wisdom, new insights, business strategies, just name it because love is the foundation. Yes, you may think I said Jesus is the foundation, but one thing we must understand is that you can’t separate love from Jesus. 1 John 4:8 says God is love and Jesus in John 14:10 said He is in the Father and the Father is in Him, which makes it clear to say that Jesus is love. But to make it clearer to us, love is the foundation. So, we understand now that it is not what we do that makes God love us more, but accepting His love for us opens doors for us, doors we refused to accept. He loved us even before we loved Him and His love can’t go bigger or smaller, it is the same love He shows to everyone irrespective of who we are. Just get to know Him more and more, because you can never know the depth of His love for us enough.

The Obedience of Your Soul

Hi everyone,

We are to understand now that we are Spirit beings, we possess a soul, and live in a body. The Spirit is us and is the most important to God, which was changed to the Spirit of Jesus, which is why we are righteous in the eyes of God because we have the exact perfect Spirit of Jesus Christ, which is also the exact Spirit of God. The Spirit is what God changed through the blood of Jesus. Now, are our souls obeying the Spirit, and if not, what is the cause of the disobedience? This is my focus today.

When we were born, it was with the sinful spirit, it was easy to manifest the works of the flesh without being taught, and why was that? It was so because our soul obeyed our spirit then which manifested in our body. Now, we have a new Spirit, but our soul needs to know who the new boss is because we still have the residue of the old nature in us, but the truth is that inside of us we don’t like to go down the part of sin, but why do we still sin? The answer is simple—we are starving.

When we had the old spirit, we were feeding it by what how we fed our souls with through our five senses, and because our spirit was sinful, it was easy to do what was wrong. But now that we have the Spirit of Christ, our conscience pricks us when we follow the path of unrighteousness. We feel it is wrong, this is because we no longer have the old spirit, but we still do what is wrong, as I said because we are starving. What are we starving? We are starving the new Spirit.

Jesus said in John 3:16 that we would not perish but have eternal life when we believe in Him, this we did and received Grace, a brand new life which we didn’t work for, but was given because we decided to forego our old life for the new life in Christ. Now that we have the new life of Christ, we need to know what we have received. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” It is only when we feed our soul with who we are that our soul understands who the new boss is and then submits to Him, and we then see the manifestation of the Spirit in our body.

Now, you would remember that when you received Jesus into your life, there was so much energy and excitement for Him, why was that? It was because you received a little food when you became born again, but why you dropped was because you failed to feed yourself. The Bible says in 2 Peter 3:18, “but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” You need to feed yourself, and not just with anything, but with the word of God. Since you are born again, you have the Holy Spirit with and in you who is our Helper, Counsellor, Comforter, Strengthener, Intercessor, and Standby. He will guide you into all truth as you live (ref.: John 16:13), especially when you study the scriptures. It is by doing this that you don’t gratify the cravings of the flesh, rather you would start manifesting the fruit of the Spirit [love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control] (ref.: Galatians 5:22-23).

Even as you are growing in the fullness of Jesus in your soul and body (because your Spirit is already mature), you may still fall into sin, but this time you are growing away from physical sin because you are feeding your mind with the right food which is who you are now. So, no matter what happens, as long as you remain in Christ Jesus, you are Holy and righteous, unless you denounce Jesus with your mouth. What Jesus did for us through His blood, death, burial, and resurrection, is not something that even a year’s write-up can contain, but based on our focus today, I believe I’ve hit the mark.

The Height of Being Led by the Holy Spirit

 Hi everyone,

I believe many of us have role models, and these role models are those we tend to emulate, from the way they handle certain things, it could be how they handled their businesses, or their fashion sense, or their mannerism to things, there is something that would have drawn you to that particular person to have made you pick the individual as your role model. Well, for me, my role model is Jesus Christ, not because I just want to feel like a Christian (a hypocritical one in this sense), but it’s just my personal choice just the way anyone of you would have picked any other person. Every time I read the gospels about Jesus and how He spoke and the authority He carried, it just thrilled me so much, that I just want to be like Him. Today, I’ll share with you a popular story about Jesus. The answer He gave has deep meaning involved, let me show what I’m talking about.

In the popularly recorded temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4 and Luke 4, I’ll only look at the first temptation which the Amplified Bible puts Matthew 4:3-4 thus, “And the tempter came and said to Him, If You are God’s Son, command these stones to be made [loaves of] bread. But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.” It is not the fact that Jesus said He won’t turn the stones into bread, but that He won’t turn the stones to bread without the permission of God His Father. I’ve explained this aspect before that Jesus told the devil that He won’t do anything without the Father’s approval, but that wasn’t what struck me as I meditated on it again. What struck me was that Jesus had just ended His forty days fasting and was hungry, definitely the hunger must have been intense. Logically, there wasn’t anything wrong with turning stones into bread, but He wasn’t going to use His anointing without the leading of the Spirit for some as irrelevant as food in this case.

I have often said, we need to always be led by the Holy Spirit, but for something as irrelevant as food, for himself, not food in terms of receiving from another person, but after fasting which it was normal to break with food, Jesus wasn’t going to eat without being led by the Holy Spirit, based on His response because He replied by saying, “Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.” That was the height of commitment and intense obedience to the Father/Holy Spirit. What Jesus taught us was that we are to be led by the Holy Spirit to even what we consider irrelevant.

It sounds like I keep making too much emphasis on being led by the Holy Spirit, but to live a flawless life and a life that is pleasing to God, a life where you fulfil your destiny and mission here on earth, it is only the Holy Spirit that can give you this perfect life. Yes, we would most likely make mistakes at the beginning but as you walk with the Holy Spirit and are being led by Him, your life gets perfected, and you grow into and “come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” Ephesians 4:13. You can never over depend on the Holy Spirit, because your true and perfect success here on earth depends on your being led by the Holy Spirit as Jesus lived a perfect life here on earth, trust me you won’t regret it.

Who Do You Reflect?

Happy Sunday everyone,

I said in one of my past write-up’s that how you behave in public or to people often reflects your upbringing, or could reflect the particular home you grew up in, as certain character traits are seen for that to be said. Likewise, as Sons of God we are to reflect who our Father is, and when you walk with the Holy Spirit regularly, you portray the fruit of the Spirit as your way of life, it isn’t some kind of religious way of life which is practiced by the books, but something that is your very nature.

Colossians 3:13 says, “Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive].” AMPLIFIED. This is what we want to see in every Son of God and the whole world eventually, but with all these, there is one which is most paramount that should be of great focus that we must attain, and Colossians 3:14 tells us what that is, as it says, “And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony].” Love! That is what it is. Love is the perfection because God is love and He [Christ] is perfect and He dwells in us; He is the One we should always reflect and not ourselves.

As we know, we are growing in the Grace of our Christ Jesus, but we should be conscious to reflect 100% perfection which can only be attained when we have reached the peak of our growth. But the truth is that when we understand that it was 100% love and perfection that was given to us and Christ is love and perfection, and He is our life when we get know this as our very existence, we reflect 100% love and perfection. Others may not see the 100% state, but there is a great change as the soul allows the Spirit more freedom to operate in the body, in our thoughts and mind. When Christ remains our consciousness, we portray His love and perfection. This is deep and we must live Him.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

The Principal Thing

Happy weekend everyone,

I remember when I was much younger, my mother always advised my siblings and me to always read the book of Proverbs. She still says it but not as much as before maybe because we read it (laugh). Well, the book of Proverbs is a powerful book which for me stands in between the spirit realm and the physical realm, in other words, you think like God while living here on earth because of your studies on the book of Proverbs.

Proverbs 4:7-8 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. 8 Exalt her, and she will promote you; she will bring you honour, when you embrace her.” Wisdom as these verses tell us is very important, and it doesn’t end there, verse 8 of Proverbs 4 also said, in all your getting, get understanding, which is also very important, so how do we get Wisdom and understanding? Before going further you must understand that Wisdom is a person. Solomon wasn’t using a figure of speech by making Wisdom a person, because Wisdom is truly a person. Wisdom was present when the universe what brought to existence, (ref.: Proverbs 8:22-31). The scriptures also tell us how the universe was brought forth through Jesus and He Himself is the Wisdom of God, (ref.: Colossians 1:16-17). It goes to show who Solomon was talking about.

Jesus is the Truth and is also the Wisdom of God, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 1:24), when you receive Jesus into your life, you receive Truth into your life, but what is Truth without knowing how to use it, this is why Jesus doesn’t just give you the Truth, He also tells you how to apply His Truth through the Holy Spirit, this is where understanding comes in. When you exalt Jesus who is Wisdom, you are depending on Him, this is where promotion comes from because He leads you on how to live your life, how to speak the right words at the right time. This is greater than the wisdom of Man which is limited, but this Wisdom is pure and is Jesus Himself. Through Wisdom you won’t only be promoted, you will also receive honour and this is the Truth because you are being led by the all-knowing.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

How Can Your Plans Be Established The Right Way?

Hello everyone,

In my last write-up, my focus was on things which we feel are right but are actually wrong, making reference to Proverbs 16:25; Romans 8:5&6; and Proverbs 16:3, I was able to establish that using our reasoning and senses without being led by the Holy Spirit leads to a lifestyle which is against God’s plans for the persons involved.  The reason clearly is that Man since the fall didn’t have a guide as to what he was to do with his life, but since the coming of the Holy Spirit as a result of the resurrection of Jesus, thus giving us an opportunity to live a brand new life by being connected to our creator who is now our Father, and as such, we get to know what we are sent here to do and we have a guardian to direct our steps. However, I intend to continue from where I stopped last time, also by answering the question posed at the end of the last write-up which is: when you roll your thoughts to the Lord, how exactly do you know what is committed to the Lord is agreeable to the will of the Lord?

In addressing the question, Proverbs 16:3 says, “Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.” AMP. The key thing is that the moment we place our plans in the hands of God, our thought pattern as regards the plan which we entrusted to God shifts focus to agree with the will of God. Psalm 37:4-5 says, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.” AMP. This is the beginning of the question being answered.

Your thoughts would start to be agreeable with that of God as long as you start to delight yourself in the Lord, this has to do with the quietness of the soul; which includes trust, reliance, and confidence in the Lord. The quietness of the soul is to shut out the physical logical reasoning, [which is dependence on the self] and then have complete reliance on the Holy Spirit to lead your thoughts aright. This is where you start to know when your plans are agreeable to His will, thus establishing your plans.

The quietness of the soul is very important in getting to know what God’s plan for your plan is, just as Psalm 37:4-5 say, delighting in the Lord is a form of quietness of the soul. To quiet the soul means to shut out every form of distractions of the carnal mind that is not led by the Holy Spirit, but this is not the end, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says more.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” With the quietness of the soul, you would be able to rejoice in the Lord always; pray without ceasing; and give the Lord thanks always. These are the will God has for you as you are in Christ Jesus, and would mean that this has to be accomplished in knowing how to walk with Jesus. This would only happen when as you are being led by the Holy Spirit. And, the Holy Spirit would let you know when if your plans are agreeable to His will. So, what are the signs the Holy Spirit would show you?

First of all, the Holy Spirit makes yours plans selfless and not selfish, which must conform to the word of God. And in achieving that, there must be love involved, thus your plan intends to treat people as you would treat them with love. Also, one thing which is very important is that it ends up glorifying God. Another thing is that your plan would fall in line with God’s purpose for your life here on earth, in other words, it would be part of what would be used in accomplishing your purpose here on earth.

These are very important to take note of because we do have plans every now and then, and it is so important to ensure that our plans fall in line with what God intends for us; so it is important for us to always, “Trust in the LORD with all [our] heart, and lean not on [our] own understanding; 6 in all [our] ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct [our] paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.
