Understanding Spiritual Transformation

Hello everyone,

I believe your weekend is going great. Thanks for always being there to refresh yourself with the real truth. Don’t forget to hit the FOLLOW button at the top right corner of the screen.

Yesterday, I explained why reformation isn’t transformation, and how this affects your Spiritual growth. Today, I would take a look at understanding transformation, as some people do not see any difference with the transformed life and their previous life. So, read on as a clearer view await you, but first, let me tell you a story.

An eagle egg was placed alongside chicken eggs; the eagle egg hatched about the same time with the chicken eggs. Now, because the eagle kept seeing chickens around it, it would keep acting like a chicken, which isn’t its nature. The eagle has the ability of an eagle in it because it is an eagle, but it keeps acting like a chicken because it is ignorant of who it really is. Until the eagle gets to know who it is and its abilities, it would forever behave like a chicken.

Some of us are like the eagle without knowing what it is capable of. In fact the moment you accept Christ as Lord by being born again, we become just like the eagle without knowing its abilities. The question now is how are we to determine who we are, or how do we understand this transformed life? The answer is gotten through diligent meditation of the Word of God and allowing the Holy Spirit we received to interpret the Word to us. The Bible says in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]” AMPC.

The Word of God tells who we are in Christ, the Word explains how we are different from the way and standard of the world, just like explaining how the eagle’s life is different from the life of the chicken. The Word is a mirror that reflects our new nature, showing us that we are “Christ’s” in the flesh and not just mere human beings. So, knowing who we really are is the transformation I was talking about. We died and was buried, and another person became our new life, this person isn’t us, it was someone completely new, never seen before [ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17].

This time around, we won’t be like Man under the old covenant who didn’t have the nature of God, rather our new self has the nature of God inbuilt [ref. Hebrews 8:10-12]. Understand that you are completely different. The only reason why you still act the way you were acting before you became born again is simple, you don’t know who you are. That is why the moment you get born again, God has ordained some leaders [Pastors, Prophets, Evangelist, Teachers, Apostles] who would equip you Spiritually, [who must be led by the Holy Spirit of Jesus], making you understand who you are in Christ in order for you to have a firm grip of the Word of God and having a strong foundation Christ where you can’t be tossed to and fro [ref. Ephesians 4:11-16].

As you are transformed, you need to keep studying and meditating on the Word, so as to keep growing, knowing who you are [ref. 2 Peter 3:18]. Once you stop you go back to your comfort zone of the chicken, and in this case, the world who would take your mind and focus away from the Word. The Word is moving against the tide of the world, so it takes courage and perseverance to live the life, God has called you for, of which God at the end would say, “well done, good and faithful servants”.

So, understand that the Word of God is the food you take to feed our new Man to manifest the fullness of Christ you received in Christ. So, be transformed not reformed.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
