The Importance of Confession and Belief

Hello everyone,

Last time we understood how there now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, which is after you decided to renounce the old life of condemnation by believing in Christ Jesus, the only begotten of the Father, and the propitiation of our sins. This is moving from one life to another, in other words, this is why the spirit is replaced with another which is the Spirit of Christ. Today, I’ll explain the key things we must do to acknowledge our coming under the Lordship of Christ Jesus.

The key things we must do to acknowledge our coming under the Lordship of Christ Jesus are in things everyone already knows, but the emphasis is placed on its importance which I would focus on also.

Romans 10:9-10 says, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” We all understand that when we believe in Jesus we will be saved, but the process is very important. To confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord is to first of all a renouncement of your old life, and acknowledging Him as the true Lord of your life, but this would not be complete without you not just acknowledging Him as Lord, but also receiving Him into your heart by believing Him, this would imply you know that He is alive, God raised Him from the dead and He is your new life. This is why when you believe with your heart, it is unto righteousness, thus receiving His very life as yours.

To confess with your mouth is an acknowledgment of truly the true Lord is, which even the devil knows that Jesus is Lord, but they have Him in their heart. True salvation needs the confession of the mouth, thus establishing who the true Lord is, also saying there is no other Lord but Jesus, and to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead is to understand what really happened to you, and how you have taken up a brand new Spirit, which is the Spirit of Truth/Jesus, depicts your true righteousness, also understanding this wasn’t gotten through your merit, but by His grace towards you.

This process I believe isn’t entirely new many of you, but one thing we should take from here is that through the confession of the mouth and the believing in our heart on what Jesus has done for us, truly establishes His presence in our soul and body, thus we see Him manifest in our daily lives. This is key because if you want to establish what the word of God says, you don’t mutter it, rather you confess it boldly, and you must also believe it as what God has done, and not what He would do, this is faith. When you want to heal the sick you confess the word boldly and believe in your heart; when you want to raise the dead or rebuke demons and others in your walk with Jesus, confession and belief in the heart are key in our walk with Jesus and should not be taken for granted.

Confession tells us who is in charge, while your belief establishes where you belong if it follows what you confessed and you claim is truly in charge. Our authority in Jesus is seen through the words of our mouth and the meditations of our heart, which is why from the moment you receive Jesus as Lord, we are to continue in Him.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
