Your Heart and Your Life

Happy New week everyone,

There are so many distractions in our environment that whatever you intend to do, you need to really focus on it, and not get distracted. Distractions come in various forms, but these distractions could also shape a person’s life either positively or negatively. A distraction could come and appear interesting and you focus on it. Some could shape your next line of action because what distracted you had sown a seed in your

mind. If you take the next line of action after being distracted, and you were satisfied, it could become a thing you’ll keep doing regularly and it becomes a habit, and eventually a lifestyle. The sad thing about all these is to know what happens to you if what you focused on was negative and ungodly.

Proverbs 4:23 tells to, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Our senses pick up things whether we want them to or not, and they shape our thought pattern. It is when we filter our thoughts that we push out that which are not beneficial to us [it’s still a choice to do that]. This is done by not watering the seed of ungodliness sown, rather water the seed of godliness, the seed of the word of God, which would eventually grow. The growth process involves focus and diligence on the word of God. What we choose to focus on grows in our hearts and eventually affect our way of life.

We must be careful what our senses pick up even though you can’t control the senses from acting, but you can reduce it from picking wrong things but avoiding places where your senses could pick wrong things. The reason why this is important is that our soul is still in the transformation stage and hasn’t fully developed, our flesh could long for things, and we must not feed the flesh, this is why we must avoid places that could feed the flesh, and even when we get home, we are to filter our thoughts with the word of God, because our thought focus decides our lifestyle and it should reflect Christ and not the flesh.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
