The Devil Is Afraid of You!

Happy Weekend everyone,

In one of my blog post, I took a look at the reason why the person in Psalm 1:1-3 was always successful at everything done, and I related it to being able to overcome trials and temptations easily through the constant meditation of the word of God. Back then it was the law, but for us now it is the undiluted word of God in our heart.

Now, many of us claim to have attacks from the devil, such as health attacks which have been standing in their way from achieving great victory; they talk of demonic spirit in a place, how they’ve battled with it in order to go where they are going. Let me tell you the mistake you’ve been making, you’ve been ignoring all these while and the devil has been taking advantage of your ignorance ever since. You must understand that the devil has been a defeated foe before the creation of the world, but officially at the resurrection of Jesus because Jesus stripped the devil of all powers and principalities [ref. Colossians 2:15], and you have to know that. So, the devil knew you did not know, so he made use of your ignorance.

Another mistake you’ve been making is that you’ve been fighting with your strength, thinking you are going to win that way. Still again, you think the devil is at your level or maybe even stronger, so you had to fight very hard with your ignorant misinterpretation of “fight the good fight of faith”. All these are what I count as rubbish.

Now, this is the truth; the devil as I said has been defeated and you need to know that; again, the devil from the very beginning was lower than you even before he rebelled against God. Remember, he was an angel, and angels are our servants, so what made him stronger after being kicked out of heaven? NOTHING! He became even more useless. I have said this before and I’ll say this again, the only power the devil has is the power of deceit, speaking into one’s mind. He paints false pictures which we ignorantly believe and think we are under attack when we would have just rebuked it with the word of God all along.

We do not need to fight the devil ever again, why? This is because the battle had been won, not by you, but by Jesus and He has given us His victory through Grace. This is why we do not fight for victory, but from the victory which is the true good fight of faith, by believing all that Jesus has done for us, and following Him as He directs us. Remember, we are in Him and we are to allow His words to be in us.

Finally, this is why the devil can NEVER attack us. The devil is a spirit being, so he sees with the spiritual eye, and if you are in Christ, the devil doesn’t see you anymore, instead, he sees Jesus, whom he is no match for in any form, not even in his imagination. This is why we need to know this and not be ignorant children of God. But if you’ve not accepted Jesus as Lord, you are not in Him (Christ) and the devil would just be tormenting your mind. It is the mind the devil torments and nothing else, even if you are not born again. HE DOESN’T HAVE ANY POWER OF HIS OWN.

Ignorance in the word is very terrible, we need to constantly keep ourselves fit in the word by constantly meditating on the word, all that Jesus has done for us and most especially believing and confessing it. It is the believing and the confessing the word in humility that drives the devil away (ref.: James 4:7). And when you are well grounded in an area spiritually it appears the devil has left you because you he knows who is boss. He leaves you and targets the areas you are still working on. So, you see it is an ongoing process which you must not take for granted.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Log on next time.
