Happy new week everyone.
In Genesis 1:28, after creating man, God said to Adam, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” All these still apply today, but my focus here is on “Be fruitful and multiply…” to be fruitful implies that there are seeds inside us that can enable us to multiply and fill the earth, but to be
fruitful also means being able to make things multiply and fill the earth, in other words, God gave us the creative power to use here on earth and these are seeds which we nurture to become fully grown. Again, it also means that everything that happens to us is really up to us because He has put us in charge. But in the new covenant, after the last Adam, what does being fruitful mean?

Again, it also means that everything that happens to us is really up to us because He has put us in charge. But in the new covenant, after the last Adam, what does being fruitful mean?
In Matthew 28:19 and 20, it says, ““Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Making disciples of all the nations and teaching them to observe all that Jesus taught them is the act of being fruitful. To baptise them is to birth them into a new life, and Jesus did this first when He appointed twelve disciples. He taught them to observe all that He had commanded them while He was here on earth, and with the help of the Holy Spirit as He said in John 14:26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
As one born under the last Adam, we are meant to be thoroughly discipled in Jesus, understanding how to live the true nature of God here on earth, the new life we received in the Spirit, because if this not done properly, we would disciple the newly born wrongly, and it would go on and on, unless there is a change along the line. This is why in Ephesians 4:11-13, it says, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” The aim is to give the new creation the proper education of who they are right now after being born again, therefore manifesting the fullness of Christ with time physically.
Our aim shouldn’t be just to bring people to Christ and leave as overgrown babies, rather it is our responsibility to disciple them thoroughly in Christ. There is a unique way of life that those born of Christ are to live, which is the God kind of life, but if you are not well discipled, this would not be achieved.
To be discipled is to have every part of your life equipped with Christ, even to your feeding. This is our true mandate, and remember, the Holy Spirit is there to guide us to the right place to be discipled if you haven’t found one. Our aim is to mature into the fullness of Christ physically, as we already have the fullness of Christ in the Spirit the moment we became born again, with that we would stand out as the true transformation agents of the world for good.
May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
