As We End The Year 2017...

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone,

You might have taken a look at the year all the way from January to December, looked at all your achievement, and could have been disappointed at yourself, maybe you didn’t fulfill your dreams or goals for the year, or maybe you didn’t get to do what God asked you to do. Yeah, I understand that feeling, because I made a lot of mistakes myself this year, and looking at the end of the year, it was not what I expected it to be, I expected to have completely fulfilled my goals. But guess what? Even if everyone is mad at you for not fulfilling your dreams or goals, just know that God is not mad at you, so don’t get mad at yourself.

I felt I had disappointed God until He reminded me the meaning of Grace which is an unmerited, undeserved favour, which means that even if I had completed the goals for the year, whatever I might have gotten I also didn’t deserve it, which goes to show God is looking at something else entirely outside our action, I’ll get to that in a moment.

God is ever merciful to us beyond our wildest dreams. The scriptures say in Lamentations 3:22-23, “Through the LORD’S mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” These verses are one the reasons why I love the hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness, I often sing this hymn to strengthen me and remember God’s faithfulness even when I fall or make mistakes.

Now, let’s not get this wrong, this doesn’t go to say we’re free to make mistakes as we like, it just goes to show that God doesn’t look at our actions, but our heart or where our heart lies. God is after our heart and not our action, where our heart lies gives birth to our actions eventually after a certain period of time. Just as a child’s heart is set on walking, though he may fall several times, eventually, he would walk because his heart is set on walking. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (NIV), to God, the heart is the more important than our actions because our actions just go to show what is in our heart.

I was also reminded that it’s not about what we do, striving to please Him, but about all what He has done for us, showing His abundant love and extravagant grace towards us. To please God is just by relying on, believing and having complete trust in Him, in other words, having faith in Him. It is when we dwell on His love for us that we can get things right in our heart and lives. Our strength will fail us, but His love for us is His strength bestowed on us, that can never fail.

You may not be happy about how the year ended, but just remember that God is not the God of the second chance as many call Him, instead He is the God of the ‘forever’ chance which we would enjoy as we dwell in His love for us.

So as we end the year 2017, know that you shouldn’t lose heart or faith, be thankful to Jesus for getting you this far, because He is your strength for the distance, and just as the saying goes, it’s not about how you fall, but it’s about how well you pick yourself back up. Happy New Year in Advance.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Be a Shinning Example This Season

Hello everyone,

I looked at John 9 again, just as I did in a write-up of mine recently. The chapter was about the blind man whom Jesus restored His sight. There was a lot of controversy over the restoration of the blind man’s sight from the Pharisees, they felt Jesus performed miracles on the Sabbath, and as such, He should be brought to book. I went through the entire chapter and I saw that there are many Pharisees today who have lost focus completely. My write-up today is to relate the event that went down in John 9 with our environment today.

As I have said before and I would say it again, Christianity is not a religion, but many have made it so without thinking, focusing on dogma without using their senses again. In John 9, the disciples of Jesus when they saw the blind man wanted to know who sinned that made the man blind, so they asked Jesus. Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.” Jesus made it clear that it was His responsibility to restore the sight of the man, all these is because of the fallen nature of man which brought about the man’s blindness. Jesus recognised His responsibility given to Him by God. Jesus had to show love to the man by restoring the sight of the blind man, displaying the love God has for humanity, but religion won’t make you see the love of God.

The blind man before Jesus healed him didn’t believe in Jesus, when Jesus gave him his sight the Pharisees started interrogating the man who was once blind. They were more of Jesus committing an offense to perform miracles on Sabbath than on the miracle itself. Many of us focus a lot on rules and regulations and forget what they are meant to do. The church today is to bring the lost closer to them by showing love to them through their actions, rather than condemning them. What the church needs to understand is that transformation is in their hands, but if they condemn unbelievers over their actions, they would unknowingly increase the number of unbelievers.

Jesus showed love to the man who was blind by restoring his sight, and because of what Jesus did, he was able to defend the actions of Jesus as a righteous act when in the presence of the Pharisees, [ref.: John 9:25, 31-34]. When Jesus found the man later, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?” He answered and said, Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.” Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him.” John 9:35b-38.

Just an act of kindness was shown to the man which made him believe in Jesus. Do you think he would have believed if Jesus had just spoken to him alone? What are you doing today? You are the change agent the world has been waiting for, look unto Jesus and live His life.

The True Key to Repentance

It’s boxing day everyone,

Boxing Day is a day of giving and sharing of gifts especially in this Christmas season. I often hear people say that for God to send His only begotten Son to die, we need to come to repentance. But it’s easier said than done.

We keep talking about coming back to God in repentance, but one thing we fail to understand is that the process of coming back to God is the effect of something, in other words, there is something that naturally triggers an individual to come to repentance, until that is found, there would be no repentance and you can’t force anyone to repent when they haven’t seen the reason for. So, the question now is, what is that which represents the key to repentance, that thing that makes man naturally want to repent or move closer to God that cause which leads to the effect which is repentance?

We must understand again and again that it is not what we do that makes God love us, rather God loved us even when we didn’t love or know Him. This would imply that the only way we would love Him or come to repentance is by God doing something first. It is that thing that starts the engine of repentance. But guess what? God has done that thing already. If that’s the case, then why haven’t mankind repented, also why are some who claim to have repented thinking that it is what they do that makes God love them or bless them?

Grace may appear strange in the sense that it goes against the norm of society, in other words, it could like getting your pay before even working, and surprisingly not the other way round, but some would say that is not true because God created a system of sowing and reaping. This sounds very true and is also true, but when you take a closer look, you will find out that God gave us everything we would need even before working with Him. Then again, why haven’t we gotten these blessings? All these questions would keep popping up because the very first question hasn’t been answered, which is, that which starts the cause for haven’t been understood properly. Once that is understood, it serves as the foundation to your life, it serves as a guide to whatever thing you would ever do on this earth. So, what is that thing?

Jesus gave us the answer in The Gospel of John 3:16, when you study His way of life while He was here on earth from the scriptures, you would see how He displayed this answer, and it called many to repentance. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” so, what is the key point or the answer? LOVE! Love is the key to repentance. Many would say they knew that all the while, but how well do they understand what this love is because many have carried the fear of hell just because that was what they heard. They heard that if they don’t repent, they would die, this forced them to ‘repent’, which in the real and true sense didn’t come from their heart.

The moment you understand why Jesus died for us and the grace which God gave us through His Son, it is there and then alone that man naturally repent. To know the fullness of how much God loves you is to “blow your mind”. The question now is why haven’t many heard these? Jesus after displaying His love towards His disciples, sent them out to go and make disciples, in other words, teach them about the love of God and what He had done. But it happened that the message was corrupted along the way and some started spreading the message of fear.

Jesus is the light of the world and He also raised us to become salt and light of the world, by becoming true difference makers by spreading His love all over the world, establishing the brand new life. We are to display the love, it is when they see this love that it compels them to repent naturally. We are to spread the love of God which speaks of what and why Jesus came to this earth and why He died and what He obtained for us when He resurrected.

Our life should be based on love, everything we do should have the foundation of love. Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:13 said, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” It is love that opens our eyes to the blessings God had given to us. It is love that makes us have faith in Christ Jesus and enables us to receive the Grace, blessings, divine favour, wisdom, new insights, business strategies, just name it because love is the foundation. Yes, you may think I said Jesus is the foundation, but one thing we must understand is that you can’t separate love from Jesus. 1 John 4:8 says God is love and Jesus in John 14:10 said He is in the Father and the Father is in Him, which makes it clear to say that Jesus is love. But to make it clearer to us, love is the foundation. So, we understand now that it is not what we do that makes God love us more, but accepting His love for us opens doors for us, doors we refused to accept. He loved us even before we loved Him and His love can’t go bigger or smaller, it is the same love He shows to everyone irrespective of who we are. Just get to know Him more and more, because you can never know the depth of His love for us enough.

Righteousness is not Self-Righteousness

Hi everyone,

There was a time when I felt to get it right with God was to obey the Ten Commandments, then if I was able to keep them it makes me qualified to become born-again. Sounds funny right? Well, I was a kid then, but the truth is that the way many of us thinks about working with God isn’t far from how I reasoned as a child. I’ve seen adults who have understood that they cannot be in the good books of God without getting born-again, they understood that all their efforts of self-righteousness were nothing without getting born-again, so they get born-again. Then they continue their effort to please God through self-effort. It is people like these that still call themselves sinners even after being saved. The question now is what message did you hear that got you born-again, was it a message of doom or a message of love? I have addressed a topic similar to the subject matter of today, but there are areas that still need hammering for people to be orientated properly.

I once fell into the trap of self-righteousness in some areas of my life, I would be unhappy with myself that I had repeated what I said I would stop, so I would then promise myself not to repeat it, but I found out that every time I promise myself not to repeat the act, it was then I repeated it again and again. What I promised myself never to repeat was the easiest thing in the world to not repeat, but I found myself repeating it, what could be wrong? I then asked God what made me repeat this again and again, and He said I kept on using self-effort believing that as I had received Christ as Lord, then I could work on myself to stop every flaw in my life, but that was wrong. The truth is that many of us read the Bible in a haste, even if the Bible wasn’t read in a haste, wasn’t studied and meditated upon.

To study and meditate on the Word of God is not like studying for an exam, where you can go through the books so as to properly understand what you studied. The studying and meditating on the Word of God is carefully go through the Word in order to allow the Word go into your being because He is alive! Remember what Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analysing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” AMP. It is the Word that works through us, all we are to do is to allow the Word to use us, and this is through the study and meditating of the Word of God every day and night.

Your wrong actions do not become right overnight, but in the spirit, within a twinkle of an eye, it changed the moment you accepted Jesus. Just as you believed you were born-again as confessing the righteousness prayer, so also you need to believe that Jesus as the Word is transforming you as you meditate on the Word, and this is through faith, [ref.: Hebrews 12:2; Romans 12:2; Proverbs 4:23; Philippians 4:8].

As you understand that you were already made righteous the moment you receive Christ without your effort, it allows the Word to bring out the righteousness in your daily living, and you see yourself living as Christ lives, because as He is, so are you in this world, [ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 4:17].

Don't Focus on the Wrong House

Hello everyone,

In my previous write-up, my focus was on John 4:23-24 which talks about worshiping the Father in spirit and in truth. I also made it clear that worship is meant to be our lifestyle, what we do naturally; as we meditate on the Word every day and night we then know and understand the grace which God has given us through His Son Jesus, the grace of God is true, honest, noble, pure, lovely, good report, which has virtue and is praiseworthy, things as these are what we are to focus on every day in order to fulfil that which God sent us here for. Today’s focus is still related to John 4:23-24, but I would take a look at what led to John 4:23-24.

The major event which John 4 talks about is on the conversation with Jesus and the woman from Samaria. As Jesus spoke conversed with her and talked about the living water and her life, the woman perceived Jesus as a prophet as she said in John 4:19-20, “The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.” These verses were what led to Jesus’ statement in verses 23 and 24. Many of us today still call the building where the church meets as the house of God, even though many may want to claim that know that the building is not the house of God. But even when we know that the building is not the house of God, how well do we take care of the true house of God?

1 Corinthians 3:16 says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” Apostle Paul wasn’t just referring only to the Corinthian church here, in essence, he was reminding everyone born of God who they become when they receive Jesus as Lord and saviour of their lives. We spend a lot of money on buildings that we call the house of God, yes it is good to keep where the children of God gather tidy, but we are to pay great attention to our bodies because God dwells in us and not the building!

Jesus said in John 4:21 replied the Samaritan woman, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.” Then He went on again in verses 23 and 24, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” As the Holy Spirit dwells in our beings, we are to express His nature as we keep yielding to Him, this would be easy as we get to know Him more and more.

The Amplified version puts Romans 12:1 thus, “I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.” The Message Bible makes it clearer, “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.”

God, our Father is more concerned about our heart than any other thing because out of our heart flows the issues of life, [ref.: Proverbs 4:23]. Once the heart is in right standing with God, with time our actions start to fall in place according to the life of the Holy Spirit/Jesus, and in so doing, we worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

In Spirit and in Truth

Hi everyone,

I took some oil and poured a little of it into a small bowl which contains water, I stirred the content in the bowl, but even after stirring it several times, the oil and water won’t mix or become one. Well, it’s not that I didn’t know this before, but my point in performing this experiment again even after knowing the outcome was just a message to show that this is just how law and grace is, they can’t be mixed. But my focus today isn’t directly at law and but at the spirit and the flesh. The truth is that the two cannot be mixed, and by mixed I mean that which holds control of the mind, it is either the flesh or the spirit, but never both. This serves as a foundation to what I would share today.

I believe most of us would remember Jesus met with the Samaritan woman when He was tired from His journey and decided to take a rest by the well which the Samaritan woman met Him. To cut the long story, through their conversation, Jesus said something quite striking in the Gospel of John chapter 4:23-24, which says, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” So you guys are like, “okaaay, what’s so striking about this?” a lot is striking about these verses.

We worship God, but many of us haven’t fully come to the understanding that we must worship the Father in spirit and in truth. By truth it means in reality, like your way of life, these are the type of people God our Father is looking for. Romans 8 has made us understand that the way of the flesh, which is the carnal mind is enmity with God and cannot please God, [ref.: Romans 8:7-8]. To say that an act cannot please God shows the lack of faith and the lack of faith means the lack of trust in God, for without faith it is impossible to please God, [ref.: Hebrews 11:6].

The flesh or the carnal mind is dependent on the five senses in passing judgement or carrying things out, but the way of the spirit is to rely on the Holy Spirit to direct your five senses. You are not to see with the natural eyes or any other part of the five senses, it is just like how you don’t see a thing until you use special glasses then you see clearer, this is kind of how it appears in the spirit realm.

The striking aspect is that worship is a lifestyle not a moment you enter when you say, “Let’s be in the mood of worship,” you are supposed to always be in the mood of worship, as you are to always live and walk by faith, which is walking in the spirit, [ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:7; Galatians 5:16]. So how do we always walk in the spirit?

To walk in the spirit is to be transformed by the continuous renewal of our mind every day and night, which would make us prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God, [ref.: Romans 12:2]. To do this would imply that you must have presented your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, [ref.: Romans 12:1], which means, you must be teachable by the Holy Spirit, ready to learn, this is humility. The Holy Spirit doesn’t work with people who are not teachable, those who still brag over what they have acquired because the scriptures tell us that if anyone should boast, he should boast in the Lord, [ref.: Jeremiah 9:24; 1 Corinthians 1:31].

After the regular study and meditation on the Word of God Who transforms your heart, you are then aware of the Grace God our Father has given to us through faith in Jesus Christ, this is when Philippians 4:8 comes to play, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” All which I underlined are what the Word of God is, also as we live our lives, whatever we encounter, if they don’t fall in line with what Philippians 4:8 says, there is no point thinking or speaking about it, they could and would be harmful to your spiritual growth, because those who worship the Father must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

True Humility Comes From The Holy Spirit

Hello everyone,

Humility is not as easy a one may think, because, in the world we live in, pride is what rules the world, while humility, on the other hand, is regarded as being foolish. But what many don’t know is that to work with God means you have to be humble, in other words, you cannot have faith without being humble.

As the scriptures explain to us that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble, [ref.: James 4:6-7; 1 Peter 5:5-6], and why is this? This is so because pride is the complete dependence on your self-efforts and achievement, which would also imply that you rely on yourself, does that mean that getting degrees and working hard is wrong? No getting degrees and working hard isn’t wrong, but it would become wrong when you are the one guiding yourself.

To elaborate further, the man was designed to be guided or mentored, which is why successful people would advise you have a mentor. Now, the chief purpose of having a mentor is to guide your dreams or ambition till it manifests successfully, but with all these, the knowledge acquired does not come with wisdom, this is why when we study to acquire great knowledge there is this pride that comes in as your then step up what you call ranks of greatness and then sideline those who were your friends before but didn’t step in knowledge or wealth as you. With all these, it is hard to know when God calls you, why? It is so because God’s pattern does not follow that which the world follows, it requires you dropping all that you “laboured” for and then following His ways. Remember, God is wiser than everyone put together even beyond eternity.

To follow God is to follow what He asks you to do with no intrusion with your human logic, because God who asked you to do what He said knows the outcome even before you do it, but the human logic is based on assumptions and probabilities and it would interrupt what God sent you to do. He is the one who would tell you what to what course to study, that is if you are to go to a formal school or what training to get or what to do generally. His aim is for you to live the life He created you to live, it all has to do with total trust in Him. Not everyone is meant to follow the trend the world has created such as the schooling and job pattern, He opens your eyes to see clearly.

Let’s not get things wrong by thinking God is a tyrant that only His way goes without us asking any questions. Nope, we serve a God who is ready to listen to you if what He sent you isn’t clear enough, and is ready to listen to your own suggestions. He explains why He has sent you to do a thing and why your method won’t work. He cares and always listens.

John the Baptists in the Gospel of John was told that Jesus was baptising and many were coming to Jesus, in other words, Jesus was stealing the show, but what did John say in John 3:27-28? “John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before Him.’” He went on further in verses 29 and 30, “He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.” It takes only a person who has completely surrendered to the will of God to say something like this, because, first of all, John was full of the spirit from birth; had the spirit of Elijah; was greater than every prophet that ever lived before him, [ref.: Luke 1:15, 17; Matthew 11:11]; he had every reason to shine, but his ministry was just till Jesus came which was just six months.

Humility is not being foolish, but letting go and letting God, not because someone just told you to do so, but because you have come to the understanding that the way of God in Christ is the true way God created you to live and to fulfil this is to allow God to take you by the hand and lead you.

Jesus should be our role model and our mentor should be the Holy Spirit, it is only through this that true humility is attained. Jesus in His glory did not even consider Himself equal with God, in showing us how to live, He humbled Himself as a servant to the point of dying on the cross, [ref.: Philippians 2:5-11]. Humility is not as easy as we think, it takes the spirit of God in us to attain true humility and allowing God to use us and unlocking the Grace God has given us through faith.

No Condemnation!

Hello everyone,

Nicodemus was astonished at all that Jesus said to him about being born-again. Many of us think when a person isn’t born again, he sins terribly, but the truth is that there are those who are not born again who do not even carry out any sinful activities, these people still have the sinful nature as their spirit, in other words, they need to be upgraded to a new level. Nicodemus, for example, was a Pharisee who according to societal standards was the best you could get when it came to keeping the law of God, but Nicodemus wasn’t living the brand new life, thus had the sinful nature.

As John 3:13-15 says, “No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus came from heaven to establish a brand new life, and it is only through Him that we can gain access to the brand new life. John 3:17 says, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” Jesus didn’t come to condemn us, because it won’t make any sense for Him to condemn us, our entire lives we doomed, we didn’t choose to have the sinful life because we were born with it. But now that the way out of this sinful life is at our disposal, it is then left to us to leave the sinful life and be translated into the brand new life Jesus brought to us.

John 3:18 says, “He who believes in Him [Jesus] is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Now, some may think that since the solution to this sinful nature is available then they would be condemned by God because they chose not to believe the Son of God, but that is not the case here when Jesus spoke on condemnation, John 3:19-21 made it clear what the condemnation means, “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because of their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

The truth is that we are the ones who condemn ourselves and not God because God has provided the solution, so it is left to us to choose what path we want to take, this is why the Sons of God should always be alert and active, ready to explain and show the world why there is a new life and why we need it to survive, because left to man there is no reason to change from what he is comfortable with, which is why the Sons of God need to well-grounded in the Word of God to enable everyone see the reason why they need the new life in Christ to survive. God is not a mean God, He is the very loving being, but cannot force us to do a thing without us choosing to do so, but He is always there to guide us, it is just left to you to listen and obey.

The Advanced and Brand New Level

Hello everyone,

In my last write-up, I looked at John 3 with emphasis on the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus. After Nicodemus’ appraisal towards Jesus of how he believes all His signs, wonders, and other mighty things are from God. Jesus’ reply to the appraisal was where my write-up for yesterday focused on, where Jesus immediately responded in John 3:3 says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jesus’ response was a kind of reorientation to Nicodemus that all the great things are nothing compared to the real reason for His coming which is the kingdom of God.

Jesus’ response to Nicodemus was to tell him not to get carried away easily by signs and wonders by anyone without first knowing their foundation, thus knowing the true message of Love and Grace that God gave to man through the resurrection of His Son.

John 3:4-5 says, “Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”” To be born of water and the Spirit is what leads to a person entering the kingdom of God. To be born of water symbolises the washing away of the old life, thus coming into a brand new life which when better explained could also symbolise the death of your old life, and the resurrection of a brand new life, which is not enough without the Spirit, because the Spirit is what inhabits the body. The Spirit is the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Jesus and God. This is what clearly defines being born again, and the brand new life.

Jesus continued as I quote verses 7 and 8, “Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” The use of wind was to explain a similarity with the Spirit. To buttress this point, we are limited using our five senses, which has always been that which controlled the reaction to our old bodies, but in the born-again body, it is the Spirit that dictates how we move. How we move in the born-again body is an act of faith. Now faith is not the same thing as optimism. Faith is seeing things at a different level or dimension, greater than the level the world operates in, the faith level is the God kind of level.

The ability of faith is gotten from Jesus who is the source of this faith. So, when Jesus said when the wind blows you hear the sound but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes, this is how the Spirit moves, it cannot be quantified by human logic because it is a greater level than the level man operates man. The five senses are limiting and limited, which is why it is referred to as the carnal mind, and the carnal mind cannot please God and it brings death, but to be Spiritually minded is life and peace, which is what you obtain when born again, [ref.: Romans 8:6-9].

It is quite sad that many of the Sons of God haven’t tapped into the level of the Spirit enough, but are operating at the level of the five senses, and if the church is operating at the level of the five senses, they cannot achieve the mission Christ had given them and as such cannot bring anyone to the understanding and knowledge of Christ because nothing is new.

Just as the human body goes through exercises to develop the muscles, so also are we to develop our Spiritual muscles by being transformed by the renewing of our minds, every day and every night, [ref.: Romans 12:2; 1 Timothy 4:8]. There is no time for sleeping, we must be up and alert.

Don't Be Carried Away

Hi everyone, it’s Monday again,

Recently, I went through The Gospel of John chapter 3. In my study of the chapter, it started with a private meeting between the Pharisee, Nicodemus, and Jesus. It was how Jesus responded to Nicodemus’ appraisal of Him that struck me, let’s look at it in John 3:2, “This man [Nicodemus] came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”” To many people, if an appraisal of this sort is given to them, the response would definitely flow in context with what was said, but Jesus’ response was quite different from what one would have expected. Jesus responded immediately in John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”” This most likely wasn’t the response Nicodemus would have expected from Jesus. So why did Jesus reply this way?

As I compared translations, I found out that the Message Bible made verse 3 quite clearer, which says, “Jesus said, “You’re absolutely right. Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it’s not possible to see what I’m pointing to—to God’s kingdom.” MSG. Even as clear as this could be, the question still looms, why Jesus answered this way, but the reason is simple. Jesus didn’t want Nicodemus to be so carried away from the focus of His coming, which was about the kingdom of God, in other words, even though everything Jesus did came from God, He made it clear that the miracles, signs, and wonders were not the main messages of His coming, but for one to be born anew, thus the establishment of a brand new kingdom, where only those who are born of that kingdom could belong to that kingdom.

Jesus reply was sort of saying, there could be others who are not of God who could come and deceive people that they are from God, when they are not, such as false prophets, and this was the reason why Jesus quickly chipped it in that unless a person is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Also establishing a point that true servants of God are born again, born anew.

Why did I bring this up today? The reason is that many people have been carried away by miracles, signs, and wonders from anyone who claims to be from God. A person who is from Christ carries the true message of Christ and that cannot be hidden. The message of Christ is the message of His resurrection and the victory He obtained for us, every servant of God who does these signs and wonders would always give the glory to God, and would explain to the people gathered the victory Jesus obtained for us through His resurrection, thus giving the glory to God, thereby showing to all that it was by Grace that we all received the victory of God.

The essence of any signs and wonders is to draw closer to God, and you can only draw closer to God through faith in Christ Jesus, thus believing in Him and His finished works on the cross through His resurrection, which would lead to becoming born again. This may sound very deep now compared to how Jesus responded to Nicodemus, but the world is getting more corrupt by the second and the Devil is using every means possible to deceive mankind, which is why we must know the Truth, because the Devil would never want you to give glory to Jesus even by accident.

The purpose of Jesus coming must be seen in every spiritual gift He has given us when they are used. This is the essence, and that was the essence of the signs and wonders Jesus showed us while on earth, to manifest God’s love for man and giving us a feel of the kingdom of God through the signs and wonders. He didn’t do it to gain popularity, but that the name of the Lord is glorified. This is why He would always say that all that He does is what He sees His Father do, [ref.: John 5:19; 14:10], which is a clear sign of humility. Do not be deceived, for the Devil is moving about like a roaring lion, looking for whom he may devour, [ref.: 1 Peter 5:8].

You Can't Deceive God.

Happy Sunday everyone,

Previously, in my write-up, I wrote on the importance practising what you preach, with reference to the Sons of God. The reason was that practising what you preach has to do with the way you live, the words you speak which are very important, your way and manner of life, showing where you stand, all these are what I laid emphasis on last time. This write-up is a continuation of the previous write-up.

God cannot be deceived, if you are honest with your stand with Him, He will know, for Apostle Paul made this clear to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:19 which says, “But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stands, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it.” AMP. The truth is that the level at which you take God seriously is also the level at which He would take you seriously when He chooses His Sons, 2 Timothy 2:20-21 says,
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also [utensils] of wood and earthenware, and some for honorable and noble [use] and some for menial and ignoble [use]. So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.” AMP.

If you think no one is watching your moves here on earth, well God is, He watches our heart because that is where the issues of life dwell, which is why He said we should give Him our heart, so that we would delight in His ways naturally, [ref.: Proverbs 4:23; 23:26]. This doesn’t have to do with blessings, like saying God selects those He blesses, no because we know that He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, even before we received Him as Lord. But on the other hand, He selects those He would use, those who have a willing heart to work for Him, and guess what, they enter into wealth easily because God takes care of those He uses!

To work with God is to work with God indeed because He sees your heart and knows when you are honest with Him. We should also not forget that the Holy Spirit is always with and in us for guidance and direction. To neglect the Holy Spirit and strategize on your own is like sending a blind into the battlefield to fight. The Holy Spirit knows the end from the beginning and knows every right move to take and He is never wrong because He is God! Neglect the Holy Spirit, then you’re neglecting God.

Practice What You Preach

Happy weekend everyone,

In my last write-up, I wrote on the importance of synergy in the body of Christ in order to make any true and positive transformation here on earth. I also wrote that the Sons of God have been distracted so much that they have lost focus on their mission, and as a result of that, many are losing faith in God. Today’s focus is still on synergy, but more on what we say in order to achieve our mandate.

2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.” AMP. The point that led to this verse is for Timothy to choose wisely, those whom he would ordain as teachers for the Word of God. So in line with that, Paul told Timothy to study and be eager to show himself approved by God, one who is not ashamed and rightfully teaching the Word of God. This is very important, but Apostle Paul did not stop there, he went further in verse 16 and 17 which says, “But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness. And their teaching [will devour; it] will eat its way like cancer or spread like gangrene…” AMP.

As Sons of God, apart from teaching the right Word of God, you are to live the Word of Truth, by walking in the spirit. This is very important because your life is a strong form of evangelism which should display an exemplary life of Christ in everything you do; also, many people get saved just by watching how you live, what you say, which is why Paul wrote to Timothy that he should avoid empty, vain, useless, and idle talk, because in order to lead people to righteousness you need to live the life of righteousness yourself.

People look at your way of life first before they listen to you, therefore the Sons of God should practice what they preach, which is shows to the world that they need another life to survive.

The Importance of Synergy

Hello everyone,

I always admire athletes, well those involved in sports generally, all the effort they have to put for a competition. A person would prepare for months just for a race that doesn’t last more than ten seconds. But there is one which unless there is a synergy, there is no success, and that is the relay race. Even if you’re the fastest runner, that doesn’t guarantee your success unless there is synergy. Likewise, in propagating the Word of God, there has to be synergy with every Son of God, and why is that? It is because we all have the same mandate, also we are in a revolution, so there is no time to play but to work together.

Last time, I made it clear that people don’t believe in God because those who believe haven’t been able to defend what they stand for, and this is what the devil wants. The question then was how do we stop this from happening? The better question would have been, how do we stop this? Because it is already happening.

The first thing the Sons of God need to understand is that many of them have often separated themselves away from those who don’t believe in God, thus quoting 2 Corinthians 6:14 which says, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” The term “yoked together” has been misunderstood; to be yoked together using this figure of speech implies working together, in other words becoming a partner with those who reject God, thus encouraging what is wrong. This is so because if you are a Son of God and are avoiding those who don’t know God, then who are you spreading the Good News to?

We are to get close to those who don’t know the Truth in order to get to know their challenges and help them solve it thereby teaching them the Way of the Lord, or how else did our Lord Jesus Christ do it? He was close to them, which made them open up to Him and He healed them of their diseases, and saved those who were oppressed of the devil, taught them the way of the Lord, which made them know more of God.

Those who don’t know God are ignorant of the Truth, and those who know the Truth should show them the Way and who He is. It is not a message that should be hoarded, rather all creation should know about this, but unless there is a synergy among the Sons of God to work together, and working with the Holy Spirit which is very important then the world would receive the message of Truth.

For the scriptures to say that the world is waiting for the manifestation of the Sons of God implies that when the world see the Truth, they would recognise it. Love is the way out and not condemnation, the life Christ brought is a new life and not a religion, it is a new era, a new dimension.
