Tongues Without Love

There are gifts given to Sons and Daughters of God by the Holy Spirit. And one of them is speaking in tongues, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 12:1-11). Now, the speaking in tongues is a language empowered by the Holy Spirit (as it is expected). The faith of any Son or Daughter of God who speaks it continually is built up. It is an undiluted word of God, grace, power and authority. However, it is not everyone who speak in tongues that fulfill this, and here is why.

To speak in tongues comes from the Holy Spirit, as I wrote earlier. However, Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:1 says, "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal." Why is this so?

Speaking in tongues is meant to be from the Holy Spirit. So, how can there be people who speak in tongues that just speak without any meaning?

Apostle Paul said the tongues spoken without love is as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

The reason why this is so is that anyone who received Christ as Lord, and has been baptised in the Holy Spirit receives the ability to speak in tongues. But just as the words we speak, if the source of the tongues isn't on love, then it is as a waste of time.

Jesus said in John 15:5, that without Him we can do nothing. Our tongues must have its bearing on Christ. But if it isn't then it has no root. It is as a flower that has been uprooted, having no source of life anymore.

Also, let us remember that God is love, and love being spoken of by Apostle Paul has its bearing on God/Christ.

Show of, pride are some ways by which our tongues have no meaning. Humility by submitting ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit when we speak in tongues have its bearing rooted in Christ.

Tongues are powerful, as they change things. But if your purpose of speaking in tongues isn't in love, by being led by the Holy Spirit. It is as Apostle Paul said, noise making. The speaker isn't being edified in anyway.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
