You must heard the statement that words are like spilt milk. No matter how a person change words, what was said cannot be taken back, in the sense that it was heard. The question we should always ask ourselves is the know if our words are sweet to be heard, words that build people up, or words that hurt and bring down.
Proverbs 16:24 says, "Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits." TPT.
Our words are powerful, they are so powerful that they either bring life or death to who or whatever we channel them to. But one thing that we need to pay attention to is how our words are said. When spoken to one another, our words should release a sense of sweetness to who we are passing our message to. It is expected to bring healing to souls. Our focus is to strengthen those around us, and not to hurt them.
Even as our words are to bring healing to souls, it doesn’t mean we should lower our guard by being liberal to the things that strengthen the flesh. As we speak, the major essence is to strengthen the spirit of the hearer, and also to bring healing as our words are spoken. Proverbs 15:1 says, "Respond gently when you are confronted and you’ll defuse the rage of another. Responding with sharp, cutting words will only make it worse. Don’t you know that being angry can ruin the testimony of even the wisest of men?" TPT.
Kind words turns away wrath, but speaking harshly worsen the situation, even if the words are edify a person.
Words are powerful, but how we say these words are be bring healing to the souls of our listeners as we admonish them in love. And we get the job done.
The devil is our enemy and not people. So, we should understand that some times we could be carried away by the deception of the devil in how we speak. But you on the other hand, show maturity by quenching the darts of the devil through a soft answer. Yeah, as soft answer can kick the devil away, by saving a person from the deception of the devil.
Yes, I know people can be annoying, but that is why we are being led by the Holy Spirit as the intention of the Lord Jesus is that all are saved, and one of the ways is through the manner at which we speak or reply a person.
Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
