Nature Change, and not Behaviour Modification

We're still within the period of Resurrection of Jesus, and 2,000 years ago, the excitement would have be so much. The resurrection of Jesus is the major reason I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. So, what happened when He resurrected? Well, I answered this question in my previous write-up. But today is a sort of continuation from my last write-up.

There is something so important that we must keep reminding ourselves everyday, if not every second of our lives, and that is what you became the moment you accepted Jesus as Lord of your life.

Jesus resurrected a brand new life, and when I say brand new, I mean brand new, never ever seen before. Just the way Adam when created was a being never seen before, that was how Jesus was, when He resurrected. What this means is that Jesus was a brand new Adam, the last Adam.

Everything that exist has characteristics just as Adam who had characteristics. So, when he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, his nature was affected, as his nature became a nature of sin, and everyone born under him had the nature of Adam which Romans 3:23 explains to us. So, what was characteristics of the fallen Adam? They include poverty, sickness, old age, diseases, infirmities, depression, etc., and to round it up, death. But not one of these characteristics are found in Jesus.

Some of the characteristics of Jesus include; love, joy, peace, patience, wisdom, wealth, perfect health, and more. And to crown it all up, the fulness of His life.

Now, the point here is that this new life found in Christ Jesus has been given to us as free gift. All we have to do is to receive it. And to receive it is to die, which is to put an end to the old nature of the first Adam, and put on a brand new life and nature, which is the nature of Jesus, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20).

What happens to you the moment you receive Jesus as Lord isn't a behaviour modification, but a nature change. A behaviour modification in a sense could be likened to evolution, but still having the same nature. It could be like a drug addict going to rehab, and eventually quitting drugs. His nature is still the same despite quitting drugs. But a person who receives Jesus as Lord is a completely different person entirely, not a person deciding to quit a thing, but a person possessing the body entirely.

Now, that amazing thing about this brand new life is that the person possesses the exact nature of Jesus, just the way the person's old nature was the nature of the first Adam, and now, the new nature is the nature of Jesus who possesses the nature of God Himself.

We must be conscious of this truth. And to remind ourselves of this truth and to growth in grace and might of this truth, we must meditate on the word of God, which shows you the very nature of Christ whom you carry, and as you know this, the Holy Spirit interprets the word to your understanding, and how to use the authority of Jesus, thus revealing the fulness of Christ Jesus in all you do.

Why this is important is because you are living in a fallen world where the devil is the god, so everything is against you, not wanting you to know what you carry. But do not also forget that the devil is a defeated foe. And this is why it sees you as a threat to itself, and does everything to make sure you don't know whose authority you carry.

Do not also forget, the devil is a liar, everything it bring before you is a lie and not true. It has been striped off every power by Jesus, all it does is to deceive you from knowing what you carry. Which is why you must be founded on the word of God, and be led by the Holy Spirit to express ans activate the power, authority and fulness of Christ through you, because you have His very nature.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Why Do You Look For The Living Among The Dead?

There is no point claiming to be born again or of God if there was no resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. If there was no resurrection then we are still in our sins, and our faith would be a delusion or a fantasy, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 15:17). But there was a resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who was raised by God and He is alive forevermore.

It is on the resurrection of Jesus that we are certain and assured that we have been redeemed from the bondage of sin and eternal death. It is because He resurrected we know that there is a new life, because His resurrection is the new life life new beginning. It is because of His resurrection that we know that the new life He brought through His resurrection is of life and not of death, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 15:45).

The angels in Luke 24:5 said, "Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?" What this means is that Jesus had conquered the grave, it means Jesus had conquered death, and had placed death under His feet.

For Jesus to have placed death under His feet implies everything related to death has been put under His feet, things like sickness, diseases, depression, infirmities, poverty, viruses and more have all been placed undeunthe feet of Jesus. And if you are in Christ, you share in that authority of Jesus. So, what would be said of you would be, why do you seek the healthy among the sick; why do you seek wealth among poverty; why do you seek Sons among slaves. This is because in Christ you are the healthy, the wealthy, the Son, the blessed, the light, the salt, the solution, these are who you have become because of Christ's resurrection, and because these are all what Christ is right now.

The resurrection Sunday reminds me of the love Jesus has shown to the entire world, and the brand new life with its characteristics that comes with the full package of having the fullness of Christ living inside of you. So, why do look for the living among the dead? You are the living because Jesus is alive and your life, praise God forevermore!

HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!

It's Been CGI All The While

What really happened when Jesus died, or what was the purpose of His death, and how does that affect us?

When Jesus died, He went to hell. The reason why Jesus had to die was because the entire world was condemned by carrying a sinful nature due to the fall of the first Adam. And without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin, (ref.: Hebrews 9:22), and this had to be done by a human who was sinless.

Let me make it a clearer. The wrath of God had to be satisfied, because the entire world was sentenced to condemnation or death, the only way to escape this was for someone who was without the nature of sin to die on behalf of of entire world, in other words, the person was to take the place of the entire world as a sinner to be condemned to death, while the world in exchange would get the righteousness of the person, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:21).

Now, Jesus' resurrection was the ultimate sign that the sacrifice was accepted, and sin had lost its grip on the world because they have been made free because of Jesus' death.

So now, about CGI, what's this about?

CGI means Computer Generated Imagery which many movie makers make use of to perform stunts, but the background seen which appears so real when the movies are viewed, are actually fake in real life. So, what's does this have to do with my write-up?

The devil makes use of CGI, and it is so good at it, (it is used a the pronoun to indicate the worthlessness of the devil, not being worthy of he or she).

Jesus save the entire world from sin. Now, the moment anyone received Jesus as Lord, the person activates a brand new life without sin. Now, sin indicates death as the end result, and death itself is a package which has sickness, diseases, poverty, depression, pain, anything that isn't in or of Jesus. But despite being born of Christ, things like sickness sometimes pop up, or other related things that isn't of Jesus. The question you may ask is, "what's the point being born of Christ when you still see things that doesn't indicate a sin free life?" The point is that the devil has been deceiving you with CGI. It tells you that you are sick, whereas, in Christ you can't be sick. It tells you that you're poor or depressed, whereas your new born again Spirit can NEVER be poor or depressed. So, what was wrong all the while? It was the devil's deception all the while.

All the devil brings in any form is a lie, just as Jesus said in John 8 that the devil has been a liar from the the beginning, and when it speaks, it speaks lies which is its mother tongue.

Don't allow the devil to get to you because the moment it gets to you, it starts showing you CGI for one reason and one reason only which is to lie to you.

The way you can avoid the devil is simple, study and meditate on the word of God day and night. Ask for interpretation from the Lord God, as this is what the Holy Spirit does when we meditate on His word. The more you meditate on the word of God, the more you familiarise yourself with the way Jesus speaks, and you know who you are in Christ. With this, when the devil comes at you, you identify it's the devil through the discernment of the Spirit.

All the devil brings to those who are born again isn't true, it's just CGI!

Fasting is an Effect, Not a Cause

I've written on fasting, and the reason why we fast. I've often said that fasting is not the same as hunger strike, as some do unknowingly, but a time to spend dedicated time with God which could be through prayers, praise, meditation, a time to seat at His feet, that you really don't know when time goes, and you'll find out that you went without food.

Fasting as I've also said is a time where the things that seem to distract you from spending time with God are cut off, and in many cases, food seems to take first place. But one thing we need to know is that fasting is not a means to an end, but an end to a means. In other words, we don't fast to get things done, but fasting is the result of what was done. Allow me to explain.

In the present dispensation of the finished works of Jesus, it actually doesn't make sense to do something to get the grace of God, this is because Jesus had done it all for us. What we need to do is to believe in what He (Jesus) has done, and we would see ourselves fall into the path already laid down for us even before we were born.

In the old testament or covenant, we would have read when Esther asked the Jews to fast for her as she intended to meet the King concerning matters that would result in saving the Jews for elimination, (ref.: Esther 4:15&16). Jesus also fasted for forty days in the wilderness in order to align Himself with the task God had placed before Him, (ref.: Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12&13; Luke 4:1-13). Here, Jesus carried the Spirit of God in Him, even though He wasn't yet glorified, His fasting wasn't a means to an end, but an end to a means.

As Jesus is now glorified, having fulfilled all the requirements of the Law and the Prophets, has now been given a name above every other name, and has the highest authority that exist and would ever exist. It is this finished work, this sign of completeness that Jesus has given to everyone who is born into His kingdom.

Now, why is fasting an effect, and not a cause? As a Son or Daughter of God, you are a steward of the Lord Jesus, and as a steward you manage the resources you have been given as your own, even when you know it's not yours but the Lord's [at the back of your mind]. Why is this important? It is important because the means to fasting is actually Stewardship.

Just think with me, let's say you're really hungry and what comes to your mind is a meal you know how to cook well. Now, if you cook this meal well, you'd enjoy eating the food, but if you don't cook the food well, it would taste awful when you eat it. So, because you intend to have a great meal, you'd focus on cooking the food properly. It is when you have finished cooking the meal that you'll find out that you had put aside everything. Now, a steward sees cooking the food as if it were his or hers when eventually it won't be eaten by the steward but by another whom the owner had directed the steward to.

Going by this illustration, Jesus has given us all we would ever need. So, when we focus on Him as a steward in order to be attentive to His leading, we ensure we pay attention to what He has asked us to do. We take the task as though it were for us, by applying the spirit of excellence in all that we do. It is after the task has been achieved that we find out that we had fasted. Fasting wasn't our intention, but Stewardship.

When Stewardship becomes our focus, fasting becomes our lifestyle because fasting in summary is fixing your eyes on Jesus who has given you His strength to do all things. So, we see that fasting is actually meant to be an effect of our Stewardship, which is the cause.

When fasting becomes difficult, it simply means you're idle in the Spirit. In a less harsh tone, it means there's nothing to be managed. When the Lord has entrusted His resources for you to manage, then you fast without knowing it.

Are Your Words Sweet? (Part 2)

In my last write-up, I explained that when we speak or reply people, the question we should ask ourselves is to know if our words are sweet or edifying. The point here is that even though our intention in passing a message is to edify the person, the manner in which the message is passed is very important because it is your manner of approach that determines if the message you intend to pass is successful or not. As sweet words brings healing to the soul, and a soft answer chases away wrath.

Now, today's focus is a little different from the Part 1, and it is very important we know this.

Proverbs 16:24 says, "Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits." TPT.

As we know, speaking beautifully releases healing to our soul. I explained this in my last write-up, but have we ever channelled this sweet words to ourselves? Our bodies listen to what we confess, and it eventually becomes what we confess over time.

Inferiority complex comes from the words we speak to ourselves. Likewise, sickness, diseases, poverty, success, prosperity, wealth, increase. But even if we know all these, the important thing is how we speak these things to our body.

The Passion Translation says in Proverbs 16:24, that nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. Now, sicknesses, poverty, diseases aren't life-giving words, so they cannot be appealing. But speaking success, prosperity, success, health, wealth are life-giving words, and they release sweetness to our soul and inner healing to our spirit.

You may be going through a lot of challenges, people may be bringing you down. The most important thing is, what manner are you speaking these words to yourself? The reason is because, confession is one stage, believing is another, and believing is what activates what has been confessed overtime. But the healing is achieved when these words are spoken sweetly. We receive strength when we speak sweetly to ourselves, as our subconscious allows us to fall in line with what we've been confessing, and this becomes a reality.

Are Your Words Sweet? (Part 1)

You must heard the statement that words are like spilt milk. No matter how a person change words, what was said cannot be taken back, in the sense that it was heard. The question we should always ask ourselves is the know if our words are sweet to be heard, words that build people up, or words that hurt and bring down.

Proverbs 16:24 says, "Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits." TPT.

Our words are powerful, they are so powerful that they either bring life or death to who or whatever we channel them to. But one thing that we need to pay attention to is how our words are said. When spoken to one another, our words should release a sense of sweetness to who we are passing our message to. It is expected to bring healing to souls. Our focus is to strengthen those around us, and not to hurt them.

Even as our words are to bring healing to souls, it doesn’t mean we should lower our guard by being liberal to the things that strengthen the flesh. As we speak, the major essence is to strengthen the spirit of the hearer, and also to bring healing as our words are spoken. Proverbs 15:1 says, "Respond gently when you are confronted and you’ll defuse the rage of another. Responding with sharp, cutting words will only make it worse. Don’t you know that being angry can ruin the testimony of even the wisest of men?" TPT.

Kind words turns away wrath, but speaking harshly worsen the situation, even if the words are edify a person.

Words are powerful, but how we say these words are be bring healing to the souls of our listeners as we admonish them in love. And we get the job done.

The devil is our enemy and not people. So, we should understand that some times we could be carried away by the deception of the devil in how we speak. But you on the other hand, show maturity by quenching the darts of the devil through a soft answer. Yeah, as soft answer can kick the devil away, by saving a person from the deception of the devil.

Yes, I know people can be annoying, but that is why we are being led by the Holy Spirit as the intention of the Lord Jesus is that all are saved, and one of the ways is through the manner at which we speak or reply a person.

What Value Are You Dishing Out?

And it happened that the Lord visited Solomon in a dream in 1 Kings 3 asking him what He should give him. This is a popular story, and we all know that Solomon asked for wisdom to be able to lead the children of Israel as King over them. Now, the Lord God was very pleased, and because if that, He didn't only give King Solomon wisdom, the Lord God made him the wisest man ever and gave him riches above every other person. The question now is to know if money just appeared in King Solomon's wardrobe, or how did he harness the riches God gave to him?

King Solomon became the richest man to ever live through his wisdom, and why was that? The words of Solomon were filled with so much value that wise men royalties from far away came to receive words of wisdom from King Solomon, and they saw his words couldn't be found anywhere, therefore making it of great value. And value was translated to great wealth for King Solomon. This same thing applies to anyone born of God. The question here is, what value are you dishing out?

Colossians 2:3 says, "In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden." AMPC. The EASY translation says, "Christ is the one who holds everything that makes people wise . He helps people to know the true message that God had hidden." EASY. King Solomon's wisdom was embedded on the Christ Jesus who is the source of all divine wisdom, the divine wisdom anyone born of God receives. So, what value are you dishing out?

Everyone born of God have been blessed with all Spiritual blessings, (ref.: Ephesians 1:3). Everyone born of God has a purpose here on earth as ordained by God in the name of the Lord Jesus. It is expected that anything being done under the calling of the Lord is expected to carry great value when dished out. The reason is that the Sons and Daughters of God are led by the Spirit of God, and not by the theories of man, thereby making whenever is seen to be unique and of great value.

Now, as Sons and Daughters of God, whatever we are called to do is meant to be of value as I've established. By value it is meant to bring transformation to the lives of those we are meant to be the salt and light to. Matthew 5:16 says, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

Our focus shouldn't be on ourselves, but on the lives we are sent to transform, and this was King Solomon's concern. He knew being a King would require a person who transform lives in the way of the Lord.

Our value is received from the Holy Spirit as we are being led. This comes after we connect the wisdom of God, who is the Jesus, the word of God, with our born again Spirit that is the same as that of Jesus. So, whatever we dish out is the mind of God, as long as we are led by the Spirit of Jesus, and it is expected to bring value and transformation to those we are sent to.

The Amazing Love of The Father

You know, when Jesus said in Matthew 6 that we shouldn't worry, and when He said in Matthew 11 that all who are burdened and heavy laden should come to Him, He was simply expressing the amazing love of the Father towards us.

Many times we get so worried about how we've done wrong, of course it's not right to do wrong, but there is a love that is so powerful that makes you not do wrong, and it is the amazing love of the Father.

Jesus in John 3:16 said, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." God so loved the world, why the emphasis on how much God loves us, it is because we never deserved His love. The Bible says in Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

We were condemned because our very nature was sin, not just in action, but the Spirit we carried. We were to be wiped off by God, but God's love was so strong that He ensured we were saved. And the only way to be saved was through the shedding of blood to redeem us. And no one was worthy, because we were all in sin. This was why God came in the person of Jesus the Christ, the only one without the sin nature, pure in the sight of God. He bore all the wrath that would have be fallen us, and He in return gave us His righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For God made the only one who did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we who did not know righteousness might become the righteousness of God through our union with him." TPT. This is an act of the amazing love of God.

The love of God is so strong that He took us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son, (ref.: Colossians 1:13). In order to experience His kingdom, He made us one with Him, (ref. Romans 8:17).

Colossians 2:9-10 says, "For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature]. ¹⁰And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power]." AMPC. The is so amazing, every who believed in Jesus, and went ahead to receive His as Lord has the full Godhead dwelling in them, that is the height of love.

2 Peter 1:3 says, "Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness." TPT.

Everything we would ever need for life and godliness came with the full package of His love when received His full Godhead.

We could still say we commit sin, but guys, Jesus dealt with sin ONCE AND FOR ALL, (ref. Hebrews 10:2,3,4,10,12,13&14). Any consciousness of sin is an act of ignorance of who your new nature is, which is the nature of Jesus Christ. The scriptures also makes us understand that love covers sin, and this was expressed by God. And it is when you are aware of the love God expressed to you, to save you, that would bring out the nature of God which you have received to the outside, and you see the acts of physical sinful acts dying in your daily activities.

I can't express His love enough, because it is eternal, and we can never get to the depth of how much He loves us.

As To The Lord And Not To Man

Back when I was much younger, I had a memory verse from a Sunday school class I attended. The verse was Colossians 3:23, which says, "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men". It just so happened that this verse got stuck on my mind all these years. It has helped me to be strong in many ways as I grew physically and spiritually. And because of this, I decided to write on it today.

Life as a whole as we live it isn't meant to be selfish, but selfless. And being a Son or Daughter of God, it is expected that we don't just live a selfless life, we live a life as a steward, thus, having at the back of our mind that all we do is to the Lord, and not to man. The point here is that times could come up where we would want recognition for what we are doing or what we've done, but this isn't right in the sight of God. To expect appraisal from man is selfish, and not to the Lord.

True, our intention in some cases may not be to show off, but to let people understand that we've not been lazy or we've been hardworking. All these aren't signs unto the Lord. They are signs showing that we glory in our strength, and they are ways the devil could put its thoughts in our heart.

But when we understand that the main and only person we are doing whatever we do to is the Lord, we receive strength, as we are confident of the fact that He sees us even in our closet and is the best judge of all.

It also shows that we live our lives not for ourselves, but for Him, and by doing that we learn more and more how to trust in Him alone, for He will never leave us nor forsake us. And we are less a prey of the devil. By doing this we allow the power of the Lord to flow through us as we live our lives. We are not bothered at whatever people think, because the ultimate One who is our mind is our focus.

Let us continually focus on the Lord on whatever thing we do, and we will see how His perfection flows in everything we do.

Are You Morally Upright or a New Creation?

There are people you might have come across, who are full of integrity, morally upright to the end, and are vast in the scriptures. These people are so amazing, but DON’T BE CARRIED AWAY, all these attributes, though are really amazing doesn't imply the person is a new creation!

There are some who in addition to the qualities above, are really sound in explanation, probably due to the type of course they studied in the university. All these do not imply the person is a new creation.

My reason for this warning is that many of these people have been ordained into the body of Christ, and this is because many have been carried away.

True it is expected that a Son or Daughter of God is expected to be sound in the scriptures, but the question that is of utmost importance is the Spirit the person carries.

Jesus came to give us a new life, and by new life it means a new spirit—His Spirit, which is the Spirit of God. The Spirit we were born with from our mother's womb is the Spirit of sin inherited from the first Adam, and this is the Spirit that is carnal and not of God, which the devil uses. But when anyone confesses Jesus as the Lord and his or her Lord, and believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead, there is a Spiritual change, as the old spirit dies and the person takes up the new Spirit, which is the Spirit of Jesus. And this person receives the Holy Spirit who leads the person in Christ Jesus. But the sound person I wrote at the beginning doesn't have the Spirit of Christ Jesus, and doesn't carry the Holy Spirit.

Many have been careless, by being carried away. God had established that He looks at the heart, (ref.: 1 Samuel 16:7; Proverbs 23:26), and the moment the heart isn't having His spirit, the person isn't of God, and can be used by the devil any time. And sadly, this person lives in the condemned life because he hasn't received Jesus as Lord. It's not because of what the person did, but because God condemned the Spirit Adam brought into the world, and anyone carrying it is doomed, (ref.: John 3:18; Romans 5:18).

Apostle Paul despite his zeal before he became a Son of God, was carrying the spirit of the first Adam, therefore was condemned. It was until Jesus Himself had to bring salvation to him, and later asking Ananias to baptise him that he was saved, carrying the spirit of Jesus, (ref.: Acts 9:3-19).

Do not be carried away with zeal, integrity, and being vast in the scriptures, of course, every Son and Daughter of God is expected to have these qualities, but if not built of the Spirit of Jesus in the person, those the person is leading are in trouble, as well as the person himself or herself.

Let us ask the Lord God to allow us to discern the spirit speaking to us. This is important because remember the devil comes as angel of light, and without the discernment of spirit, we can be carried away, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 11:14).
