Your New Beginning Without Procrastination (Part 2)

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I gave two causes of procrastination. The first I gave is that we fail to plan, while the second is that we don’t have a clear view of what we want. I made use of Proverbs 29:18 where the Amplified Bible says, “Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]-blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he.”  So, what could be the source of the wrong focus?

We all have dreams, but until we identify the tools in achieving the dream, and putting pen to paper, our dreams won’t become a vision. But what causes procrastination is that we focus on what we are not good at. We have skills and talents which we must have identified ourselves or maybe by family and friends. We are to build our vision around the skills and talents God has given us. So, when we build our vision over what we are not good at, we would get frustrated and would waste time and eventually procrastinate.

The third cause of procrastination is that we listen to discouraging words from family and friends. In other words, we doubt ourselves. Many times our dreams and vision are new, never seen before. But as I said because you have identified the tools in achieving the dream, and putting pen to paper, you are to be confident in your vision. This is why it is called vision because you are to see the result of your vision. Many people would be against what you intend to do, and we could wait and have a second thought, and while you are having a second thought, you are procrastinating.

The fourth cause is that we don’t trust God. The same Proverbs 29:18 says those who keep the law of God are blessed and fulfilled. Now, we are in the new covenant where you receive Jesus as your new life, and the Holy Spirit leads you after you meditate on the word of God. The Holy Spirit shows you the practical steps in applying the word of God in your daily life. In other words, He would show you what exactly you are good at and show the pathway in achieving these goals of yours through the word God. It is left for you to trust Him.

We are to believe and trust in Lord Jesus as the Holy Spirit guides us. He puts in our hearts the dream, shows us how to get it done, which is the vision. But if you don’t trust Him and doubt or have a second thought, we would procrastinate and in procrastinating we are not taking action, because the action is what produces the goals, which is the result.

Take that action now, without it, there would be no result. But remember, you cannot take action without having the tools in your hands and where to use these tools, which is the vision stage. In applying action to it at the right time and place, our goals would be achieved. But waiting and having a second thought is procrastination. And the only person you can trust in getting you there through His guidance is the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Jesus. May you have a blessed year with good results to show for it, AMEN.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
