A Closer Look at the Two Trees (Part 2)

Hi everyone,

In my last write-up, I identified what the two trees in the Garden of Eden represented. The tree of life represents Jesus Christ, as He is the Life, while the tree of the knowledge of good and evil represents the Law because it is only through the Law that you know what is good and evil, and the scriptures call it the ministry of death, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 3:7). But in many ways, we would justify having the knowledge of good and evil, because what could be wrong in knowing what is good or evil? After all, that is the way the world lives. But it is wrong to have the knowledge of good and evil, not making reference to the tree, [although, they all came from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil].

Many people have unknowingly tagged the tree of the knowledge of good and evil as the tree of the knowledge of evil. But no, it is the knowledge of good and evil, what could be wrong? We should understand that if Adam had eaten of the tree of life, he wouldn’t have had the knowledge of good and evil, so how would he have lived?

Jesus told His disciples in John 14:16 that when He goes back to His Father, He would send the Helper/ the Holy Spirit. And in John 14:26 Jesus also told them that the Holy Spirit Who is in the name of Jesus would teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance. Why is this important?

This is important because Adam was just a living soul, but the last Adam [Jesus Christ] became a life-giving spirit (ref.: 1 Corinthians 15:45), which Adam would have become if he ate of the tree of life, but as he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he separated himself from life and had no direction.

The knowledge of good and evil is that which condemns and kills, and you’re not being led by the Holy Spirit, therefore, you don’t live your life within the plans and purposes of God for your life.

It still sounds strange to many, but the truth is that we are to be guided and led by the Holy Spirit in all that we do, and when I mean all, I mean all. Jesus said all that He does isn’t of His own accord, but that which He sees His Father do, that is what He does, (ref.: John 5:19; 14:10). And this is how we are to live! But we can live this way and experience a perfect life, thus, falling within the exact plan and purposes of God for your life, and it is by believing and accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour.

Why is receiving Jesus as Lord very important? It is important because He is a new beginning different from where we came from—Adam. We kept on living a life of error because we are within a generation whose root started from the knowledge of good and evil. But, under the last Adam—Jesus, we have a brand new Spirit that is the same as Jesus/God, and every form of perfection is contained with Him [our new Spirit]. All we have to do is to know Who Jesus is more and more, believe in His finished works, and allow the Holy Spirit guide you as you see the finished works get manifested in your lives, a life of perfection, that which God Almighty has ordained for you. It is not a life where you choose using the knowledge of good and evil, but a brand new life where Life Himself guides your life even to the smallest things that we call irrelevant. This is the gospel truth.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
