Praises and Authority

Hello everyone,

In my previous write-up, I wrote on the importance of living and walking in faith, and not by sight or appearances, which I said is of a corrupt realm and not pleasing to God. I also, emphasised that without faith, it is impossible to please God and to live in the realm of faith, we need to see with the eyes of God because that is how God sees. His eyes see perfection, that which we received from Jesus from God as Grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

We are to constantly walk in Grace through faith, as we listen and obey the Holy Spirit, who helps us interpret the scriptures after we have meditated on them. The Holy Spirit helps us fix our eyes on Jesus alone and no one else, for in Him we have everything. But the corrupt world we live in is full of distractions which makes you doubt the faith life you claim to live. In all these, there is something we need to know, which is that we need to know Jesus Himself as a person, and not afar. The reason why this is important is that the more we know Jesus, the more His Grace which includes His fullness dwells more in us, and the devil has a lesser ability to distract us.

There is an important way we should never take for granted in getting to know Jesus personally, and that is praise! This may not sound new to us, right? But one thing is certain if we had been taking our praises to Jesus/God seriously, by knowing its importance, we wouldn’t have been seeing any challenges in our lives, or our challenges would have been reducing more and more.

Praise to God brings intimacy, and we have a better relationship with God our Father. Praise ought to be what we start the day with, and end the day with. In fact, we are to praise Him at all times, just as King David said in Psalms 34:1, “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Praise to God is an act of faith because when you praise God, you fix your eyes on Him alone, and God is pleased and you are strengthened spiritually and physically. When you are strengthened spiritually, it implies that you are understanding more and more what your true identity is, and it helps you live it physically as you have full control and authority over your life by Christ Jesus. And then you’ll see that the devil has little or no way of manipulating you. You can see how Jesus knew who He was as He made use of the Word of God to kick out the works of the devil in every way he tried, (ref.: Matthew 4:1-11; Luke 4:1-13), likewise, when we praise God, we are strengthened and we overcome the wiles of the devil, and sickness, diseases, and other works of the devil disappear eventually.

When you praise God regularly, your trust in Him increases and as Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” This is very important because several people who had certain ailments were healed from their ailments, but because of certain fear or doubt in their mind, it appeared as though the ailment didn’t leave. And all this is because their relationship with Jesus wasn’t deep enough, and the sad thing is that Jesus had healed him. But the more the person who hungers and thirsts for Jesus keeps on praising Him, he will see his miracle manifest.

Do not give the devil a free hand in your life just because you don’t praise God. The world we live in is very corrupt and deceitful, and if our focus isn’t on Christ Jesus alone, the devil will use our idle time to feast on his deception. Praise the LORD at all times and see His Grace manifest in you naturally.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t? Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
