It Is Finished!

HAPPY EASTER everyone,

Easter is the most powerful celebration in every Son and Daughter of God’s life, because without the first Easter, we won’t call ourselves children of God, and we would be doomed till eternity.

The phrase which changed everything for us was the phrase, “it is finished.” Why was and is this so important in our lives today? It is so important to us because we were doomed to eternal damnation in the sight of God, and the blood of bulls and goats were used to cleanse us from our sins once a year. But as Hebrews 10:4 says, “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.” Hebrews 9:11-14 says,
“But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

Hebrews 10:14 says, “For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” Hebrews 9:22 says, “And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.” 1 Peter 2:24 says, “who Himself [Jesus] bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”

Jesus became a sacrifice on our behalf in order that we would live. Isaiah 53:5a says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities.” Jesus took our condemnation, infirmities, our sins, everything that separated us from God, which made us unholy in the sight of God. And when I say our, I mean that of the whole world, past, present, and future. One Man [Jesus] took all these, so that we would live. One Man who was blameless before God, who didn’t deserve all these took it on our behalf.

He became unclean before God, which was why God turned away from Him. This was the reason my Jesus cried out, “Eli Eli lama sabachthani?” which is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (ref.: Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34; Psalm 22:1).

It was when Jesus had borne all our sins and condemnation that He cried, it is finished. This statement indicates our redemption once and for all. In other words, He took our sins and gave us His righteousness, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:21). Also, when He said “finished”, it signified the end of an era, which was the Adamic era or age with all its attributes. It signifies the end of sickness, diseases, side effects, poverty, and all the attributes that the devil brought into the world through Adam.

But when Jesus brought this age to a close, what happened next? Log on to my next blog after this, and see the continuation of the awesome and marvelous thing Jesus has done for us, that He deserves more than our praises and worship.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
