Change Your Eye Sight

Hi everyone,

2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervour; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.” AMP.

Faith could appear mysterious in many ways especially when God said He has done a thing and we are yet to see it. Does that make God a liar? Other times, when we make use of faith, we tend to look into the future, which has been one reason many of us don’t get to receive what has already been given to us. So, when we walk by faith or regulate our lives by faith, what does it really mean?

2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us that when we live our lives using faith, we don’t use sight or appearances, what does this mean? It simply means that the life of faith and the “regular” life we found here on earth are two parallel lines which cannot meet.

Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God, in order words, to permanently please God, we all need to live in the faith zone, and not by sight or appearances. So, is faith something we cannot see with our eyes since we are told not to walk by what we see? Let’s move on.

The first thing we need to understand is that faith can be seen, but not with the eyes on our faces, rather with another pair of eyes. Another thing is that to see by sight or appearances are to see imperfection and corruption, which wasn’t ordained by God.

There is a perfect world we are to see, and this was given to us by Jesus when He resurrected, this is called Grace. Therefore, faith is simply the acceptance and belief in that which God has given as Grace through Jesus Christ.

Another thing we need to understand is that God Himself used faith to create the universe, (ref.: Hebrews 11:3). Jesus after He cursed the fig tree told His disciples to have faith in God, in other words, have the God kind of faith, (ref.: Mark 11:22). Still again, what this means is to see as God sees! This is the mystery behind everything.

God has seen the end from the beginning, in other words, He sees eternity at once. There is a perfect life He has fashioned, and that is what He sees, and that is what we are meant to see, and this has been put in our Spirit because those who are born of God possess the exact Spirit of God, in other words, we are united with God in Spirit—one Spirit. Therefore, as we see with the eyes of God, our mind is renewed, and our bodies become transformed. This is where breakthrough comes from, this is where healing comes from, and other miracles.

After the resurrection of Jesus, we understand that we were healed, (ref.: 1 Peter 2:24), and not going to be healed. So, how do we tap into this great life of faith? Look unto to Jesus, yes that sounds right, which it is, looking deeper, see the health, see the perfection and not by fantasising, but through Jesus, because, Jesus Himself is health! This is why Hebrews 12:1 and 2 asks us to lay aside any and every form of distraction, those things we see in this corrupt realm and look unto Jesus the author and finisher of faith, who becomes our faith because we don’t actually, have faith.

If we have truly become born of God, by being raised with Christ, Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” But how do we see with this very special eyes of God?

The Holy Spirit is a very dear Friend we receive after becoming born of God. He is the One who would open our eyes of faith by showing us the path to tread. We would see more and more of only that which we were given by Grace through Jesus. So, when we see health, we are to hold fast to it. When we see prosperity and good success, we are to hold fast to it. But we are to listen and obey what the Holy Spirit tells as He interprets the Word of God to us when we meditate on it.

Living the life of faith is the only way to please God, as Hebrews 11:6 tells us, that without faith it is impossible to please God. And as Romans 8:6-7 says, “For to be carnally minded [walking by sight] is death, but to be spiritually minded [walking by faith] is life and peace. 7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.” So, we all need to change our eyes sight in order to live the right life.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
