Understanding Wisdom (Part 2)

Hello everyone,

In my last blog, I wrote on understanding wisdom, which we shouldn’t take for granted. Wisdom is the proper application of knowledge, but there is a wisdom which surpasses all other types of wisdom which is the wisdom of God. The wisdom from above is pure and without flaws, which is the wisdom Solomon asked for. I made it clear that God blessed Solomon with wealth beyond any man on the face of the earth, and it is because of his high level of wisdom. As he interacted with people, his wisdom brought wealth to him. He was honoured everywhere he went, because of his wisdom.

I made it clear last time that wisdom is a person, and Jesus gave us a clue He was wisdom is in Matthew 12:42 and Luke 11:31, but when you link those verses with Proverbs 8:23, John 1:1 and 1 Corinthians 1:24, then it would be safe to conclude that Jesus is wisdom.

I observed something that made me ponder for a while, it was on the fact that every theory ever created by man has both advantages and disadvantages. I stopped and asked a friend of mine why there wasn’t any theory without disadvantages. This implies that there was no theory created which didn’t its flaws, and this is because they were created from the fallen nature, the carnal mind, where no one would find perfection and which is why there is always chaos in the world. And these theories are created from the wisdom of men. So, why use the wisdom of men, when there is the wisdom of God?

Apostle James in James 3:17 described the wisdom of God to us, “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity).” AMP. Now, by following the wisdom from above, what would the result be? James 3:18 gives us the answer, “And the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God’s will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts.]” AMP. This is true because, in the reign of King Solomon, he had complete peace till he turned away from God/wisdom which can be seen in 1 Kings 11.

The question now is how can we gain access to wisdom, because many would ask that wisdom is so abstract, how would they know what wisdom is? Even though I said Jesus is wisdom, gaining access to the wisdom itself would be to know how to identify it. Log on next time as I address this question.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
