You must have noticed how I keep talking about how we need to focus on Christ like it’s a child’s play. There are challenges that are beyond expression: you have a wife and children and you came home one day after a hard day’s work only to get a notice of being asked to vacate your home within 24 hours just because you couldn’t pay the rent. Where was God when you prayed everyday for financial provision? And now your worst nightmare has hit you like a baseball bat. You are a single mother who has a sick daughter, you prayed day and night for your daughter’s recovery but she eventually died. Where was God when this woman needed Him? All these and more difficult cases are faced everyday but is God really answering prayers at all?
The bible says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”. The bible didn’t say that only good things happen to those who love God, what it says is “all things work together for good” this implies no matter the challenge you find yourself in, it would eventually turn out to be for good.
We must also know that God doesn’t make people sick or have challenges, this is not in line with God at all, because the bible says in Ephesians 1:3 that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. And spiritual blessings include physical blessings. In Matthew 6:32-33 says God knows all the things we need and has provided them with grace. God blesses and doesn’t curse because of the new dispensation of resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The point we have to understand is that the devil places challenges on us, but what the devil fails to understand is that no matter the state of where you are, once you turn to the Lord, He takes you from where you are to the point of your victory. The bible says in Psalm 23:4, even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you will fear no evil, because the Lord is with you.
You may be facing challenges at the moment, but just remember that once you place it in the hand of God there is light at the end of the tunnel. The devil might have caused a lot of problems for you, don’t give up on God. The devil doesn’t want you to look at the face of Christ, He uses challenges so that you will take your face of Christ and focus on your pain. It may be painful, but once you focus on Christ, I promise you that no matter what you have faced would eventually lead to you victory because Christ has already given us the victory we want, we just need to hold on.
The children of Israel wanted to conquer Jericho, God told Joshua the end of the story by telling him He has given Jericho into their hand. No matter the challenge you face just know that the end of the story is for the greater good. All things work together for you good when you hold on to God and this is the gospel truth.

There is a Lasting Solution
It is quite normal to follow the trend of things around you; this is because it was what you met when you were born. But in an earlier blog I explained that the trend of the world is not its original design. In Genesis God told Adam to tend the garden and made him in charge of the earth [ref. Genesis 2:15]. So, if God wants something done on earth, he has to go through man because He doesn’t go against His words.
Now, if God designed the earth, He definitely has a plan for us. The point is that the world has decided to do things by themselves. In the beginning, God asked Adam to tend the garden [ref. Genesis 2:15], but when Adam was moved out of the garden, Adam decided to till the ground which is different from what God told Adam from the beginning [ref. Genesis 3:23]; this is how the world lives today.
Man likes to observe new things that create solution to problems; the Believers are expected to live the original plan of God so that Man would see it and want to join in the original plan of God. But this is really not happening as it is supposed to. Why? This is because the Believers are not getting some things right and what could this be? It is a lack of a proper relationship with God!
Some Believers have turned Christianity into religion. The world struggles to get anything done which started from Adam who tilled the ground before he could survive. Jesus came to change this [ref. John 3:16] and as Believers increase, they are expected to be examples, living the real plan of God. But some Believers pray to God and don’t listen for His direction. Christianity is a relationship which involves God and Man, so, when the Believers are not following God’s exact direction they don’t do anything spectacular that makes the world change their ways by following the plans of God.
It is also quite sad that when the Believers don’t get transformation as they expect they join the struggle of the world under the umbrella of Christ. So, there is no difference between the Believers and the world except knowing they go to church! But if they understand Christianity is a relationship they would follow the very steps of Christ, portray the very nature of Christ which is living the plan of God; with this a unique life is lived by Believers and those of the world see that the plans of God is the best and they decide to follow Christ [ref. Matthew 5:13-16].
Believers are expected to be the change the world needs; they bring up new ideas which leads to lasting solutions needed. You then see breakthroughs in several fields and so on, just because they follow the God who knows all things and knows the end from the beginning. It’s all because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

A Closer Look at Faith
From a concordance of New King James Version of the bible published by Thomas Nelson, it says faith is the “Belief or trust in someone or something. Among Christians, belief in the Holy Trinity.” When I saw this definition of faith, I liked it because for faith is all about trust, but this trust is not on what someone will do but on what someone has done! Many times what we call faith is actually hope and we don’t know that. The moment you put a thing in the future tense, it becomes hope, but when you put it in the past that affects the present, it becomes faith.
The bible makes us understand that Man is justified by faith [ref. Romans 3:28; 5:1; Galatians 2:16; 3:24]. This is because faith is accounted for righteousness [ref. Romans 4:5]; we should also remember that we are saved through faith, and faith without works is dead [ref. Ephesians 2:8; James 2:20].
In understanding that faith without works is dead, we should know that a person’s action is expected to depict the thing he believes or trust in, in other words, when you trust a thing or person and you don’t act in line with what you believe in, then your claim of belief is not true or as Apostle James put it, it is dead.
Sin was seen in the old testament as failure to do what the law says, and this was based on the work of man (the contextual use of the word work written here has a different from the work used by Apostle James in James 2:20). But in the New Testament whatever is not from faith is SIN [ref. Romans 14:23], because without faith it is impossible to please God [ref. Hebrews 11:6], it could also mean without trust in God, you can’t please Him and it is by faith that we believe in Jesus and become believers [John 3:16; Romans 10:9].
We are to believe in Jesus Christ totally and confess this with our mouth according to Romans 10:9. If what is confessed is true and you believe in your heart, then it would imply that your actions would fall in line with what you believe. The very act of a sincere confession and belief by mouth and heart implies faith and would imply that every action you take is based on FAITH in CHRIST. Anything contrary to this is an operation from the old nature of sin.
The point here is there can’t be faith if we can’t see the grace of God in our lives. The grace of God is not a thing we see with our physical five senses, although our belief in the grace through faith causes it to reflect in our daily lives. God has done it all through Christ, there is nothing you need that God hasn’t provided for us [ref. Matthew 6:32]. It’s because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Only See What You Want
Humans are
people who focus on things but cannot focus on more than one thing at a time.
In other words we there is no simultaneous effect on how we focus on things we
want. You must forfeit one for the other. This also affects our judgement and conclusion.
Still, we must understand what we intend to happen to us has a lot to do with
what we see and say.
You must
understand that you only see what you want; you can’t see a half empty and full
cup simultaneously. So, if you believe you are blessed, see yourself as blessed
and not otherwise. Our thoughts have a force that shouts what we want without
saying it. If you are saying you are blessed and in your mind saying otherwise,
it is that which your mind says that is established.
Jesus was hungry
at a point and went to a tree expecting to see fruits on it but He didn’t see
any. So, He spoke a cursed to the tree saying no one would ever eat of the tree
again and walked away. Jesus saw the tree dead in His mind that’s why when He
took the same path the next day, He didn’t bother looking at the tree, but His disciples
who had double minds checked if what Jesus happened and it happened! [ref. Mark
11:12-14; 11:20-21]. Why? Jesus didn’t have a double mind. His disciples
wondered how He did it and He explained to them saying, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this
mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his
heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have
whatever he says.” Mark 11:22b-23 NKJV. Only see what you want.
Again, Peter the
Apostle wanted to walk on water when Jesus called him, so what he saw was
seeing himself walking on water till he changed what he saw, that was focusing
on the wind and wave, that was what made him sink till Jesus came to the rescue
[ref. Matthew 14:22-33]. What Jesus asked was, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:31 NKJV.
What you want is the only thing you see!
To see what you
want is what God wants us to do; it’s an act of faith. He did this to Joshua
when the children of Israel were to destroy Jericho, God told Joshua, “See! I have given Jericho into your hand,
its king, and the mighty men of valor.” Joshua 6:2 NKJV. But Jericho was
still standing! God wanted Joshua to see only what they wanted, if they had
changed their focus from seeing Jericho destroyed, Jericho wouldn’t have been
destroyed.
No matter the
situation you are going through, you must stay focused on what you want. The
moment you shift focus to another place of rest, you get the last thing you
focused on. So focus on what you want. The grace God has giving us has giving
us have to be seen every second of our lives because God has given us
everything we’ll ever need; it’s all because of His love for us and this is the
gospel truth.

Behind the term "I am"
Yesterday, I explained
how God gave believers limitless powers beyond our imagination. You should also
understand that having this ability implies you reasoning as God does because
it is God Himself who takes over your Spirit who enters your mind when you
allow Him. This is very important because as we use the limitless power it
then helps us in our normal imagination. Our imagination then becomes a great
boost to faith and our confessions.
Our confessions
are words that should not be taken for granted. Every word we speak has a commanding
force. As we know, every object is at a state of rest, for a thing to move from
one place to another, there needs to be a force moving the object in focus to
another state of rest. And since we have the mind of Christ in our spirit man (ref.: 1 Corinthians
2:16), we are expected to act like God and as we know every word that comes out
of God does not go and come back without void but accomplishes all that pleases
Him (ref.: Isaiah 55:11). Why am I saying this? We are to pay attention to the
words we use and the power and meaning of what we say.
My focus is on
the use of the term “I am”. When we
say “I am successful”, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus” and many
other similar expressions, what we are saying is emphasising who God is as a
person and in our being. God told Moses He is “I am who I am”. He is known as the “I am”. The Jews got annoyed at
Jesus when He said, “Before Abraham was,
I am” (ref.: John 8:58). Even though
it was used in a sentence, the Jews recognised the presence of the term “I am”.
“I am successful”
implies “God is successful”, and understanding the grace God has given us makes
us understand that God is our success and it makes those words come alive in
our lives more than ever before. So, knowing who God is, makes our confessions
come alive as we know that our Christ-like confessions express who God really
is, believing in it strengthens our trust in Christ and makes our confessions
real in our lives! It’s so real because of His love for us and this is the
gospel truth.

When Your Imagination Becomes Your Limitation
In actualising anything
that becomes creativity of which that which is to be created is supposed to
have been finished in the mind, what we could call imagination. As we know, an
architect is expected to have an image of what he intends to design, without
this we become stuck and nothing new is created. So, we know the importance of
imagination. But have you ever considered your imagination becoming your
limitation?
Let’s take a
look at God; it is very easy to imagine a person who cannot die and lives forever,
but it is so impossible to imagine someone who has no beginning! You think
about it, your mind cannot comprehend it. This is how God is, He has no
beginning and what He gives cannot be comprehended. The grace God has given us
has neither beginning nor end. It is made clear in Ephesians 3:20 which says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably
more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within
us” Ephesians 3:20 NIV.
God made us
understand that there is a level we need be operating from making imagination
limitation. The fact that you can imagine a thing still indicates that what is
imagined is limited by how far your imagination can go. No matter who you are,
there is a limit to how much you can imagine. So why don’t you tap into the
powers of being limitless, that which your mind will never comprehend. This
power come from God and can only be achieved through us; this power is Jesus in
our lives and this is what we get. God uses us as a medium in expressing His
might and being limitless.
So, being a
believer means free access to the unlimited powers of God, in your homes,
schools, work, businesses, health and so much more. And of course the Holy
Spirit is our guide on how to use this great power. This is made available to
us because of God’s love for us and this is the gospel truth.

God Punished Jesus For The Sins You Will Commit Today
Living a perfect
life here on earth is quite impossible because we are still growing. For
believers you have a gene of perfection, which means you are perfect. However, (using
a child as a good scenario), a child who is learning how to work has a perfect
way of walking in his but pending the time the child walks perfectly, he falls
several time. This is the same for the believers; we grow every day, just as
Ephesians 4:13-14a further explains the purpose of our growth. “Till we all come in the unity of the
faith, and in the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the
measure of the stature and fullness of Christ: that we henceforth be no more
children, tossed to and fro...”.
God is a God of
perfection, He can’t stand seeing flaws of any kind; so what happened to the
flaws we keep committing every day? Many of us think God just overlook our
flaws like that since Jesus died for our sins. If you believe this then you
need to completely understand what Jesus did and what He didn’t do.
We must
understand that God is the same and never changes, so if someone got punished
for committing sin in the past, then the same is applicable today (keep on
reading I’m getting somewhere). God saw that man would keep on sinning so He
decided to solve the problem once and for all by sending His Son to die for our
sins as we all know. But what did Jesus really do on the cross? The blood of
bulls and goats which was used for the remission of sins didn’t completely wipe
of the sins committed permanently so when another sin was committed another sacrifice
would have to be made. This wasn’t so for Jesus, the bulls and goat were a
shadow of the real sacrifice: Jesus [Hebrews 9].
Jesus being a
sacrifice was offered once and for all the sins of humanity permanently, which
implies He died for our past, present and future sins. Let me give you an illustration;
there is a boy who gets flogged for doing anything wrong, so the man who kept
flogging him for any flaw decided to save himself the stress of flogging him
every day by flogging for every flaw he would ever commit in future. So,
anytime the boy falters he doesn’t get flogged because he had been flogged
ahead of time. This is the exact thing that happened to mankind, but instead of
we getting the “eternal” punishment, Jesus who was innocent decided to take our
place just as the bible puts, “So Christ
was offered once to bear the sins of many” and “By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the
body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest stands ministering
daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away
sins. But this Man. After He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever,
sat at the right hand of God...” (Hebrews 9:28 and 10:10-12 respectively).
So, anytime you
falter always remember you would have been punished but Jesus took your
punishment over 2,000 years ago on your behalf. It’s all because of His love
for us and this is the gospel truth.

Be Careful of the wiles of the devil
There is no doubt that when you humble yourself before the Lord He would lift you up in due season when you cast your entire burden upon Him because of God cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 says this but verses 8 and 9 say, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” You are expected to resist the devil in faith by being careful of the devil wiles. But to do this you need to be equipped.
Ephesians 6 talks about the whole armour of God and the whole armour include: loin girt of truth; the breastplate of righteousness; feet shod of the gospel of peace; the shield of faith; helmet of salvation; and the sword of the spirit. All these can be achieved by being humble before the Lord who in turn empowers you on how to interpret the scriptures properly.
Every part of the armour is the privileges we get from being believers, but we need to develop ourselves through the meditation of the scriptures day and night which would in turn strengthen our use of the whole armour of God and eventually not fall for the wiles of the devil.
When you are close to God through the regular study and meditation of the scriptures through the leading of the Holy Spirit you can’t be deceived by the devil, because if it’s not of God, it can’t be God.
Things become straight forward with God when you meditate on the word of God with the help of the Holy Spirit and as you grow you won’t fall for the wiles of the devil. It’s all because of God’s love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Your Lifestyle In CHRIST is a Great Form of Evangelism
We all have a lifestyle to which we are known for to the point where when a person narrates an event you actually didn’t do, your parents or those close to you would quickly say, “nope, that’s not my son”. How did they know that? It’s your lifestyle; your attitude! This is different from an acting scene involving you. The role you pick is not your true lifestyle; this is similar to religion. For religion, you are just acting a script that is not you. But the believer is expected to have a lifestyle of Christ.
The believers’ life is not a life of pretence but an expression of their true self which is the life of Christ. This is an important aspect for the believer because many times we pick dates for evangelism in our church groups and think it is when you have an official outing that you get people converted to Christ. This is not entirely so; it is your lifestyle that is the most important aspect of evangelism. This is called: living the gospel.
People see your life as you gospel affects your life in a grace filled way. This is what makes people come and ask you what you do that makes you so prosperous. This is when you tell about Jesus and how He has transformed your life. People like to see things first hand before they go for it or not. You are to living the Word and after that share it. Your lifestyle draws people to Christ even without saying a word.
The life of Jesus was a natural lifestyle of God that when He spoke people wondered how He could live a life with such great knowledge of God. His lifestyle drew people to Him. This was the same for the early believers and that’s why they were called Christians [ref. Acts 11:26]. Going for evangelism is wonderful but what you are talking about is expected to be your life. God put His nature in the heart of the believer, that’s why we are to act just like Him [Hebrews 8:10-11]. God made things so easy for us because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

The Benefits in Humility
Several times we’ve heard a lot about humility being a good moral virtue, but humility is actually beyond just a good moral virtue; it is a pathway to greatness and power. However, many people don’t know the importance of humility.
Let’s take a look at Mr. A and Mr. B who had a deep misunderstanding. Mr. A was the true cause of the misunderstanding and Mr. B on the other hand wanted an apology which Mr. A refused to give; he also refused to admit he was at fault. However, Mr. B decided to apologise even though he wasn’t at fault; this ended the quarrel. The power to do this is humility even when it isn’t easy. This act didn’t only strengthen Mr. B, but it also strengthened Mr. A, whom the apology was made to. What Mr. B might not know is that he earned more respect from Mr. A than before! This is a sense of maturity.
In the Bible, to allow God into your life, thus dropping everything and following His will is the highest form of humility you could offer, because the Bible says. “Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5:6-7 AMP.
When you allow God to take charge of your life, you would do things you knew you wouldn’t have been able to do before, and this is because of the grace and the strength given to you by God.

God gave Jesus the name that is above every other name. This happens to us when we do what the scriptures say in 1 Peter 5:6-7.

Some believers feel it is wrong for believers to have great wealth, so they decide to remain contented with their level. Others feel when they have health issues it is normal. As Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls." Matthew 11:28-29 AMP. This is the life God wants for us, and it's all because of His love for us. This is the gospel truth.

How To Develop The Discerning Of Spirit
In 1 Corinthians 12, nine gifts from the Holy Spirit are mentioned and they include: word of wisdom; word of knowledge; faith; gifts of healing; working of miracles; prophecy; discerning of spirits; divers kinds of tongues and finally; the interpretation of tongues. All these gifts are essential in the believers’ growth. As a believer, you could find a gift that is most obvious than the rest. However, I believe every believer should possess every gift inasmuch as one becomes dominant. Even with this I also believe every believer must possess and strengthen the ability to discern between spirits.
Being able to discern between spirits is expected to be an ability that draws the believers closer to God in terms of understanding. The reason is because Christianity as a relationship implies one need to know when the other party communicates and not another spirit. We are in a battle field as the devil act as wolf in sheep clothing and would try as much as possible to deceive the believers. Just as Jesus warned us to watch out for false prophets [ref. Matthew 7:15]; the only way this can be done is by having a strong gift of discerning between spirits.
Furthermore, Apostle John asks us to test the spirits: “Beloved, do not put faith in every spirit, but prove (test) the spirits to discover whether they proceed from God; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world. By this you may know (perceive and recognize) the Spirit of God: every spirit which acknowledges and confesses [the fact] that Jesus Christ (the Messiah) [actually] has become man and has come in the flesh is of God [has God for its source]...” 1 John 4:1-2 AMP. Anything outside this is from the devil. This is very important because we should not be deceived by how they present their catchy words, but carefully avoid the acknowledgement of 1 John 4:1-2. We must test the spirit.
We are to be like the Bereans who would go back home and search the scriptures if what was heard corresponds with the scriptures [ref. Acts 17:11]. This implies that to properly develop the gift of the discerning of spirit, we need to be vast in the scriptures; with this the Holy Spirit uses what we have studied to help us identify the authentic Word and the counterfeit. This was how Jesus didn’t fall for the devil’s temptation because, first of all He had a vast knowledge of the scriptures and secondly He had the Holy Spirit in Him.
Note this; having a vast knowledge of the scriptures without the Holy Spirit is like reading mere literature; the Holy Spirit is essential. Also, you should not have the Holy Spirit without having the scriptures because, the Holy Spirit interprets the scriptures and if there are no scriptures there won’t be interpretation. The presence of the scriptures with the Holy Spirit whom we listen to helps us develop the gift of discernment of spirits. There is no cause for alarm when this is done; it’s because of the love God has for us and this is the gospel truth.

Eve And The Forbidden Fruit
We look at Eve when reading our bible and wonder why she could fall for the trick of the serpent and more surprising when her husband, Adam was with her. This very act of Eve falling for the serpent still happens in today in some families, but in terms of having making the final decision in a family there is a standard which God created. So, let’s look at what went wrong in the Garden of Eden and what would have been done to prevent it.
In life, there are people we seek permission from before making an important decision. As a believer there are stages which must not be scattered. As an unmarried person, Jesus Christ is the direct head of the individual, although in some cases such seeking permission to marry, the parental head comes first before going to Christ especially if the parents are believers. It is important to note that as believers the sequence of those we seek must end up with God; because the head of an individual are the parents who answer to Jesus who answer to God. And of course God is the Prime Mover who answers to no one. This must not be broken or intercepted for another.
In the case of a married couple, the woman is expected to answer to her husband who is a believer, who answers to Christ, who then answers to God. It is like a tree which Jesus made us understand in John 15. He said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman... I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15: 1a, 5). Jesus made us understand that we are to abide in Him and without Him we can do nothing! This is very important for us today because if we think this area was referring to discipleship, you are right; but many of us don’t realise discipleship starts with the family. This was what Eve misplaced.
Now, when God created Adam, He gave him certain instructions such as be fruitful and multiply, subdue and overcome the earth and so on. He also said, “...Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:16b-17). Eve wasn’t created at this point. Therefore Adam was expected to pass the direct message to Eve.
When the serpent lured Eve to eat from tree of the knowledge of good and evil, she was expected to ask her husband if it was ok to eat the fruit. Her husband on the other hand was expected to ask God if it was ok. God on His part had answered Adam before the event which was stated in Genesis 2:16b-17. Then it was left to Adam to see if what the serpent to Eve corresponded with what God told him. Now Eve didn’t ask her husband if it was alright to eat the fruit and Adam himself didn’t stop her because it didn’t correspond with what God told him. So, once there is a mix up you miss your path.
The authority above you is very important; as a married woman, it is expected for the woman to ensure her husband follows every step of instruction that Christ tells him, or else it could destroy the family, that is why the woman is the help meet. The man on his part is expected obey the instruction he gets from God, pass down to the woman and ensure what is passed is adhered to (this is done in love and not with force). This is how the home is built.
1 Corinthians 11:3 explains everything, “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” This standard has to be followed. What Would Have Happened If Adam Ate Of The Tree Of Life?
When we read the first three chapters of the book of Genesis, we find out where Adam ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But what would have happened if Adam ate from the tree of life?
As you know, God made a reference to two trees: the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God specifically told Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but there was no mention of what would happen if Adam had taken from the tree of life?
Let’s take a look at the life of Jesus. Jesus is known as the second or last Adam, which would imply a new beginning. Jesus while on earth was just like Adam in Genesis; they both had the Spirit of God as the source of their existence. They both had to achieve something which they were created for. For Jesus, He had to die for the whole human race and overcome both the death and the devil, which He did. It was then that God raised Him and gave Him all authority in heaven, earth and under the earth [ref. Philippians 2:9-11]. Having the Spirit of God wasn’t enough because whatever happens to the “Adam” affects everyone coming behind them. They had to achieve the life of God Himself into them like adding two buckets water into one bucket, the water cannot be differentiated. This is what happens to us when we have eternal life.
Eternal life doesn’t mean living forever, if it meant living forever then everyone has eternal life! We are Spirit living in an earth suit and Spirit cannot die. Jesus told us what eternal life is in John 17:3, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” The term “know” has the exact meaning when it was said, “know” used in Genesis 4:1 “And Adam knew Eve his wife...” This was what would have happened to Adam if he ate from the tree of life. God is life personified and he (Adam) would have been exactly like God, in one sense we could say he would have been God!
Jesus achieved what Adam was to achieve and more. Jesus became God (looking from the perspective of Jesus as man), that is why when we accept Jesus as our life we become joint heirs with Him and as He is so we become [ref. Romans 8:17; 1 John 4:17].
Becoming a believer implies becoming fused with God. Jesus was given all authority which implies being God (fused to God’s existence); the same thing happens to you when you accept Jesus as Lord. This was what Adam would have gained if he ate of the tree of life. Remember, the tree symbolically represents Christ! God had and still has these planned for us, so why do worry when you have the command of the universe at your disposal. It’s all because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Why Is Christianity Not A Religion?
How you view a thing becomes how you relate with it. What’s my point? God created Adam and Eve for His pleasure, for a relationship. Adam and Eve were deceived and were separated from God. it is because of this Man since the fall has tried to get back to God. So the effort you put in pleasing God to get in good terms with Him is religion. This is my summary of what religion is.
Man tries to please God in everything, this has caused the emergence of several religion today due to the way they feel God could be impressed. But the point here is to know if Christianity falls under the term “religion” because many people today see Christianity as a religion, some claim it is not a religion, but have no indebt knowledge in defending their claim. Let’s take a look at the stand Christianity has taken.
Religion is about man trying to reach up to God, but Christianity is about God reaching down to man through Grace. God showed this by sending His Son Jesus to become the sacrifice; that is to die in our place, so that we could be free [ref. John 3:16, Romans 5:7-8]. It was God and not Man who made the effort. This is a sign of love and a relationship.
Again, religion has a set of rules and regulations or moral codes which must not be broken but Christianity want you to believe in what Jesus and what He did cross by accepting Him as Lord and saviour. This is a choice you would have to make yourself and you accept Jesus because you discovered the love He has for you and the Grace He has endowed us with. Some might say “but the law is in the bible, what about that?” Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 3:7-8 that the law is the ministry of death and it brought condemnation but the new life in Spirit is more glorious [ref. 2 Corinthians 3:7-8, Romans 7:7]. Many of us don’t know that the law was meant for ONLY the Jews, so the Jews are expected to move from sin to law to Christ; while non Jew are to move from sin to Christ! The law came through Moses but Grace and Truth came by Jesus [ref. John1:17]
Religion condemns, Christianity doesn’t; religion is one sided, that is it requires your effort; on the other hand Christianity is “symbiotic” in nature that is we commune freely with God, calling Him Father and He communicates back to us as Sons, thus making it a relationship. This you can NEVER find in any religion, if you do then that is not a religion.
Religion is acting the script; Christianity is being the script. A typical example were the Jews (the children of Israel), they acted the law which wasn’t their life, so it became a struggle for them. But now we live the script because our new nature in Christ has God’s way of life engraved in our heart therefore making it our way of life [Hebrews 8:10-11]
Jesus didn’t come to establish another philosophy, rather He came to bring the whole world back to God, He did that, but we being free moral agents, this had to be a choice we had to make by ourselves. So, it happened that those who believed what Jesus did and accepted Him into their lives naturally started acted just like Christ. This made others call them Christians [ref. Acts 11:26]. There is freedom in relating with God which you can’t find in any religion.
So, we could say, Christians are the Sons of God who is their Father and being their Father implies they carry His genes and possess His Spirit. This is achieved when we are adopted as His Sons under the first born Son Jesus (who really is God). It’s all because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Are You Living Or Existing?
Hmmmmn… you’re born, you go through primary, secondary school and then you go to the university. You get a good job, later acquire wealth probably through investment; you get married, have children, grow old, retire, have grand children probably have great grand children and then go and see the Lord. This looks like a great life right? But is this what you were born for; to just repeat a routine of life and die? Nothing has been added!
Looking at the routine life, even if you choose to go to church and read the bible regularly but end up following the same sequence of life you just existed, that’s all. Now don’t get me wrong, going to school is wonderful; of course if you didn’t school, you probably won’t know how to read, not to talk of writing. These however are the basic things to be learnt. My point here is for you to know the reason for your existence here on earth. There is reason for your existence and it defers from another. It is not a routine created by man.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.” (Message). Ok, so our attitude is expected to reflect godliness, but let’s further look at the verses ahead, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and [aa] recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 AMP).
Our being salt and light is to reflect Jesus. As Jesus said He is the light of the world and those who follow Him shall have the light of life [ref. John 8:12]. This light is the same light as that of Matthew 5, we are to reflect Him. This implies when we accept Jesus as Lord and receiving the Holy Spirit after this, the mystery about our life is then revealed as we remain in Him [ref. Colossians 1:27]. We are to live the will of God for our lives and it can only be gotten in Jesus Christ.
So, how can we do this? The bible makes us understand that Christ is our life [ref. Colossians 3:4]. Therefore, our life itself should be Jesus personified every second of our life; that is being led by the Spirit at school, work or anywhere. People should notice the difference at the way you do things, and how successful you are, always portraying the fruit of the Spirit and would cause them to ask what you do differently from others. This is when you tell them how Jesus gave you a new life and He being your direction. This would cause them to praise God in heaven for such Grace He has given to men.
Your life should not be a rigid, religious way of doing things, like living your life and living Jesus’ life. You can’t mix the two; Christ is your life, you are breathing Him! All these is because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

God Knows What He Is Doing
Do you think God
doesn’t know what He is doing? Your answer would be “of course He does”. This
might not be new to you but let me refresh your memory. The path in following
God’s plans for your life doesn’t ever make sense. Why? This is because the
world says so.
Let me give you
a scenario; imagine you are in the midst of 20 smart people in a room seeing a
fan for the first time. They all came to an agreement that the object in front
of them is an aeroplane. But you receiving a revelation from God then tell them
it is a fan and not an aeroplane. You will appear to be silly, mostly because
they believe they are smarter than you because they have higher degree than you
do. So because majority agreed to the wrong thing, whatever you say that is
different from their view becomes irrelevant.
Some believers
become intimidated by what people say. The bible says, the foolishness of God
is greater than the wisdom of man. So, if you follow God, you’re sure not to
make mistakes. If we analyse what God tells you to do, you will end up not
doing anything. Stretching a rod toward a sea to split it in two; putting clay
mixed with saliva on a blind man’s to make him see; shouting at the sun to
stand still and expecting it to obey; all of which doesn’t make any sense but
surprisingly they all came to pass and many more like those mentioned.
Why don’t you
trust God today, lay aside your pride. The bible says, “...not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble,
are called...” (1st Corinthians 1:26). This is because they
trust the standard of man more than that of God. God cannot use people, who
question His authority, but He uses those who the world considers foolish, the
ones who do not have anything to hold on to; these are the people God uses. Apostle
Paul, despite having all the knowledge He wanted, later had an encounter with
Jesus who transformed his life counted all his achievement rubbish [ref.
Philippians 3:8].
As the bible
says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Lean on, trust
in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely
on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and
acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.”
(AMP). We attain such benefits because of His love for us and this is the
gospel truth.

A Life Full Of Luxury
The world is a
place full of struggle and those born believe the world was meant to be like
this, but NO! The world wasn’t like this at the beginning. Believers live a
luxury full life, but don’t get me wrong, we have work to do. When I say
luxury, I mean we don’t do the thinking; we just dwell in the presence of God
and we follow His directions, as simple as ABC.
In the world,
when we see a challenge, maybe an economic problem, it would be a normal thing
for the best economists to find a solution using their theories, sweating until
they arrive a breakthrough. But on the other hand believers get steps to follow
in order to arrive at the final solution to the problem. So, we follow steps
from the Holy Spirit. God told Isaac to remain in the land where he was during
a famine while others ran to Egypt, and guess what happened? He prospered!
[ref. Genesis 26:1-12].
Joseph is
another man who didn’t allow his circumstance take over his life. He believed
in God and because of that when Egypt had a severe famine, God used Him to save
the world [ref. Genesis 41]. God knows the end from the beginning but we can’t
see beyond our noses. So, why not trust the all knowing God to give you a
luxury fill life. He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings. Jesus said,
the Lord God knows everything we have need of.
Know the Son of
who you are and stop giving yourself unnecessary stress by following the sad
trend of the world. But prosperity and favour is from the Lord. All these are
because of the love Jesus has for us and this is the gospel truth.

God Has Taken Care Of All Your Needs
Christianity is
not a changed life but an exchanged life. As we know, Jesus gave us a brand new
life, which implies that our former life died.
Jesus talked
about people worrying about what to eat; drink and put on. He said all these
things are what the people of the world run after and should not be our target.
Instead He said we should seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness
and all the things we really need would be added unto us, [ref. Matthew 6:33].
Our focus should be on His kingdom and not any other thing.
Let’s take a
good look at a popular movie; the 007 James Bond. James Bond is usually sent on
a mission (which for us is seeking the kingdom). He is told what to do and
where to go. Everything he would need in achieving the mission is given to him
by those who sent him and not himself worrying about where to get them.
We are just like
James Bond, we need to ask God what He wants us to do. When we focus on His
mission, everything we need in achieving the mission will be provided for you. Not
everyone would be millionaires or billionaires, but one thing is a fact, when
you work with God YOU WILL NEVER LACK!
We are a
reflection of how good He is towards us because He loves us. When we turn to
Him, He takes perfect care of us. All these is because of His love for us and
this the gospel truth.

How To Receive God's Direction
As we battle
along as believers in faith, we need to be thoroughly equipped. This is because
the devil is thoroughly equipped himself! But one thing is certain; he can’t
defeat a thoroughly equipped believer. So, how can we be thoroughly equipped?
Through the Word! (the bible); believers receive directions from the Holy
Spirit in different ways such as, hearing Him directly; through dreams, vision,
circumstances and so on, but with all these, they are all secondary to the
major source of direction gotten from God Himself. The major source of direction
from God is the Word of God (the bible).
We must note the
fact that the secondary sources in gaining direction from God MUST correspond
with the Word of God and not the other way round. This is because when you
study and meditate on the Word, the secondary sources then explains what you
studied for clarity in living our daily lives.
When we allow
the secondary sources bring out the clarity of the Word, we become like person
in Psalm 1; of whom whatever he does prospers. Now, prosperity also includes;
not falling for the temptation of the devil; the Holy Spirit guides us as we
live our daily lives. Can’t you see how easy things are? And this is because of
the love God has for us and this is the gospel truth.

Stay Alert In Christ
The devil is so
cunning but he has been defeated before the creation of the world, but as I
said yesterday, some believers focus on him and this is what he wants. Some
might say, “If we don’t watch him, how do we know where he is coming from?” The
question I’ll ask is “When you focus on him, what attention are you giving God
Himself?” Jesus Himself said, “Watch and
pray, that ye enter not into temptation...” Matthew 26:41. But does the
word “watch” mean?
The word “watch”
in this context implies being alert; and the only way to be alert is in the
Lord. As believers, you can’t focus on Jesus enough. Jesus focused on God while
here on earth, that’s why He couldn’t fall for any temptation. When Jesus was
on earth, He did what He saw His Father do, [ref. John 5:19]; this is
“watching”.
When you focus
on Jesus a lot, (I keep emphasising on this) the devil’s deceit is easily
identified and with that you rebuke Him immediately. You wouldn’t have easily
identified the devil if you didn’t focus on Jesus, you can achieve this without
Him. We are completely helpless without Jesus; we are to live His life with the
added advantage of having His spirit and His mind! [ref. 1st Corinthians
2:16]. All these are because of His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

Know Your Right As A Believer
The bible says “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” Ephesians 6:12. Many a times, some Believers misinterpret this a lot; true the devil attack Believers with deceit but it is not for us to focus on him or to ask him to die when we pray, it is not in our place! The question we are to note is, how did the devil get to you in the first place?
We should know that the devil CANNOT touch a believer. Why? It is because we have been bought by Jesus. The devil doesn’t have a conscience like man, so he shows no mercy, he wants every believer dead that is, have every believer in his court.
Remember Jesus disarmed the devil completely, the only ability the devil has is deceit. Now, what are his intentions in deceiving Believers? He was banished from heaven permanently and the things he wanted were given to man, as man had total control over the earth. So, he hates man and wants man to be sentenced along with him on the last day.
As Believers, we are alive in Christ, Christ is our life, our heart, our all in all, thus without Him we can do nothing. This is what the devil doesn’t want, so he does everything to distract believers using his deceit schemes such as bringing things that negate the believers stand with that of Christ. He does this involving our five senses. For instance the devil deceives a believer that he is feverish, but in the real truth the man is not feverish till he affirms he is. This is because our words contain power on whatever we declare. So, if the believer says he feels feverish he becomes feverish because he declared it into his life and he has been deceived by the devil.
As Believers, we are alive in Christ, Christ is our life, our heart, our all in all, thus without Him we can do nothing. This is what the devil doesn’t want, so he does everything to distract believers using his deceit schemes such as bringing things that negate the believers stand with that of Christ. He does this involving our five senses. For instance the devil deceives a believer that he is feverish, but in the real truth the man is not feverish till he affirms he is. This is because our words contain power on whatever we declare. So, if the believer says he feels feverish he becomes feverish because he declared it into his life and he has been deceived by the devil.
Believers must remember that the devil cannot inflict sickness, disease or anything contrary to the finished work of Jesus because taking sickness for example; Jesus bore all our infirmities we would ever face when He died on the cross. By the stripes of Jesus we were made healed [ref. Isaiah 53:4-5; 1st Peter 2:24].
So, when you feel anything that is contrary to the finished work of Christ, rather than confessing what is felt, confess your stand in Christ which is the truth. If the Word says you were healed and you are feeling sick, then someone is lying and it can’t be God! Our confessions must be by faith and not with our five senses which the devil always use to deceive us. Meditate on the finished work of Jesus Christ and its benefits to you.
Remember, the devil shows you what is NOT REAL. Only focus on Jesus and you will not fall for the wiles of the devil. All these benefits we get are because of Jesus’ love for us and this the gospel truth.

God's Blessing Supersedes Our Challenges
A times we wake
up to meet a lot of challenges which makes us wonder if God is really there or
He is just folding His hands without doing anything. True, financial issues may
come up, health issues may come up and other similar issues may emerge; the
first thing to do is to look at the good God has done in the midst of your
troubles, this is a start. With this you get encouraged to go through His Word
and meditate on it. You find scriptures where He says, “Blessed be God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed
us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” Ephesians 1:3.
The Word meditated upon will make you understand God has already blessed you.
Miracles happen when we switch from our five senses to our God sense which is
faith.
When you
meditate on His Words daily, it helps you align yourself to the will of God and
then the directions of the Holy Spirit becomes clearer just the bible says in
Psalm 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto
my feet, and a light unto my path.”
As you continue
on the path of righteousness, you see your troubles become yesterday’s news and
His life becomes your more and more. It’s because of His love for us and this

See God's Provision In All You Do
Some believers
just wonder how they have to praise God, in other words they have difficulty
praising God and they have difficulty praising God in having a normal “believers”
way of life.
To praise God is
to appreciate God for the reason you became a believer in the first place. The
grace God gave to us is one thing you look at. For instance, “But God shows and clearly proves His [own]
love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah,
the Anointed One) died for us.” [Romans 5:8 (AMP)]. This is one reason to
thank and praise God.
Another reason
to take note of are the simple things around you such as the food you eat, the
clothes you put on, the shelter over your head, and other simple things like
that. You just have to know all these are God’s love towards you. Think about
your family and your relatives; keep looking for the good in everything.
Appreciating God
and His love for you and always looking at the cross to see its spiritual
significance. Knowing that you were the one to be condemned and Jesus came to
the rescue by taking your place. All these give you confidence in God and
strengthen your faith and of course if God be for you, who can be against you?
All these are because His love for us and this is the gospel truth.

God Sense and not the Five Senses
To follow the Holy
Spirit is so easy but some believers have decided to make it difficult. They allowed their old
ways get so deep in their soul to point where what the Holy Spirit says seems
ridiculous and unbelievable. This is because the new life and the old life
don’t operate the same way.
The old life
operates according to the five senses, which the world follows. Now if we
keep paying attention to our five senses, we tend not to follow the Holy Spirit
easily. Another reason why it has become difficult for some believers is
because they seek God and meditate on His Word out of selfish ambition. Many a
times this is due to ignorance in the Word itself. They seek God so that He
would bless them without knowing that He has blessed them already, but
they are not aware of it; the Word is alsp confessed out of context.
The world still
operates by believing in the five senses which is living in the knowledge of
good and evil, this is living without God’s guidance. This was what separated
man from God at the beginning. Some believers haven’t come to the understanding
that living in the Holy Spirit means doing everything the Holy Spirit says
without a second thought. This is living the true Life (Jesus).
Jesus never had
a second thought about following God’s will. The only time there was pain in
following God’s will, God sent Angels to strengthen Him and that’s at the
Garden of Gethsemane because He was about to carry the sins of the entire
mankind. This is how to live and this is achieved by looking unto Jesus who was
tempted in every way yet without sin [ref. Hebrews 4:15]. GOD has taken care of us because of His love for us, and this is the gospel truth.

Meditation Is Key
Our being is
comprised of the spirit, the soul and the body. As was explained yesterday, the
former spirit we left left our soul and body polluted, however the source of our
pollution is gone. There is the need to be transformed through the Holy Spirit
dwelling in us.
When we take out
time every day and night to praise God and meditate on the scriptures then it
shifts our mind to living the new life. We need to know the motive behind
praising God and meditating on the scriptures. With this we live exactly how
God wants us to.
What should our
motive be? Our motive when praising God and meditating on the scriptures should
be seeking a deeper relationship with God that is, always looking for what He
has already done.
When we praise
God, we praise Him for His love and mercy and grace towards us and how great He
is and how He governs the universe and so on. And when we meditate on the
scriptures, our focus should be on seeing God’s grace in every scripture, what
God did for us through Jesus. By this we are looking unto Jesus and our focus
is keened on Him.
The Holy Spirit
allows the soul get used to being focused on Jesus because it is our new life. And whatever the
soul does, the body follows suit. The process is easier than this explanation
because the Holy Spirit Himself will guide us throughout the journey, telling
us how to live our life. It’s all because of His love for us and this is the
gospel truth.

Jesus Our Righteousness
Why do we still
have some believers not finding following Jesus as easy as they breathe? The
point to note is that our being as humans is divided into three: the spirit,
the soul and the body. The root of the three is the spirit. The spirit
determines whose side we’re on. When we were under the first Adam, our spirit
was of the devil. So, when we did something good, it wasn’t counted as
righteousness because our spirit wasn’t in right standing with God. Now that we
are in Christ, even when we falter, it doesn’t make us unrighteous because our
spirit is right standing with God.
The only way our
spirit becomes unrighteous before God is if we renounce Jesus from our lives,
that is, to deny Him completely and not repent before the day Jesus’ return.
Now, there is a guy “downstairs” (the devil) who wants every believer to
renounce Jesus from their lives. Now when our being was of the devil, our soul
submitted to the will of old spirit which in turn controlled the body. The soul
is comprised of the mind, will and emotion. We are to understand that only our
spirit was transformed when we became born again. It is now up to us feed our
soul with the right food by submitting to the Holy Spirit, which then controls
our body.
We can achieve
having a transformed soul by meditating on the scriptures day and night [ref.
Psalm 1]. Praising God and giving thanks to Him and you will see the grace of
God come alive in your life. It’s all about His love for us and this is the
gospel truth.

Freedom In Christ 2
Who are we now
after receiving Jesus as Lord of all and having the Holy Spirit? The bible
explained how God gave Jesus all authority in heaven, earth and under the earth
and we being in Jesus have the exact authority [ref. Philippians 2:9-11; Romans
8:17]. We now have the commanding authority as Jesus, but remember, as man we
must not sit on the fence, we just have to serve someone and as believers we
chose Jesus.
Now being under
Jesus implies you have the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our helper, counselor,
comforter and guardian. He is also our direction [ref. John 14:15-18]. As we
live in the world, the Holy Spirit guides us what God wants us to do. We can’t
just go about anything as we like even though we have freedom. We are expected
to act just like Jesus in everything because we have His Spirit and His mind!
[ref. 1st Corinthians 2:16].
While Jesus was
on earth, He said, “… I assure you, most
solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own
accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever
the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn].” John 5:19
(AMP). This is the same way we are to live. We need to ask God for guidance
on what to do and how to do it. The point we need to understand is that God
makes things easy for us better than we expect.
Also, as
believers, we are to look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
Remember, without faith it is impossible to please God [ref. Hebrews 12:2;
11:6]. The way to please God through faith is to look at our perfect
representative, Jesus. The more we look unto Him, the more we appreciate God’s
grace and mercy towards us and our lives get transformed for the better and we
start seeing miracles happening. It’s because of His love for us and this is
the gospel truth.
