His Faith and Your Faith

To be a Son or Daughter of God is to live and walk by faith, not by sight (ref. Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:7). Now, to live and walk by faith doesn't mean since we live in Christ whatever we do just become right because there is this confidence in our effort to get things right. You may not see it this way, but many of us do things this way by believing in ourselves, thinking that because we are born again, faith would imply that since Jesus did it, we have more confidence in ourselves. This is faith, but our own faith.

There is the faith of Jesus and our faith. But our faith can never be right even though we are Sons and Daughters of God. The transformation through the renewal of our minds simply means moving from complete rest on ourselves to complete rest in what He did. In theory, this isn't new to us, but in practice, some of us do the opposite.

Colossians 3:16-17 says, "¹⁶Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. ¹⁷And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

What it means to operate in His faith means to constantly give Him praise and thanksgiving in all that we do, why? This is because as we give Him praise and thanksgiving, we strengthen our rest in Him as the one who has done it all, and we think less of ourselves and more and more of Him alone.

As we praise and thank Him in all we do, we allow His grace to flow through the Holy Spirit as we rest on Him through our actions. A sign of complete trust in His finished work.

All that we do, is just the Holy Spirit leading us to the goodies He has in store for us. So, when the Holy Spirit leads us to a sick person, we just give thanks to God because we know that Jesus has healed the man. This makes us rebuke the sickness because we know He had done it.

You see that you didn't think of yourself for a second in whatever way, all you thought of was Jesus and what He had done. And is because we keep praising and thanking Him for what He has done.

We live by the faith OF Jesus, and not by our faith (ref.: Galatians 2:20 KJV). This is what it means when the scripture says when we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives us the desires of our heart because we have shifted our rest from ourselves to Him through praise and thanksgiving in Him. And also why it is also written that in all things we should give thanks, and that is the will of God for us (ref.: Psalms 37:4; 1 Thessalonians 5:18).

So, to live and walk by faith and not by sight is to look unto Jesus and keep on praising and thanking in all we do which affects our actions as we get transformed in the renewal of our minds.

It is none of us, and all of Him. You have no business with yourself. So, you see why it is called faith?

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
