Perseverance

Coming into the new life in Christ Jesus is a different ball game entirely. Living in a world where you need to save the unsaved as being sent on a mission, also has almost everything opposing what you stand for.

Sometimes you ask yourself if you're meant to do this. Sometimes, you feel like giving up. And even when you choose to do it, as that meant to be, you have things and even people, some of whom could be close to you discouraging you on your mission here on earth.

And when things like this happen, the word perseverance should be what we are to hold on to.

Perseverance is a continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition. And in this case, our effort is to focus and achieve our mission no matter what.

But even though we are saved, we are in the flesh. And as I wrote above, the flesh is sensitive to trials and temptation. So, how do we persevere?

Let's take a look at Romans 5:1-5, it says "¹ Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. ² Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory! ³ But that’s not all! Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. ⁴ And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. ⁵ And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us!" TPT.

Apostle Paul reminds us that our faith in Jesus got us born-again, which implies that God's righteousness was transferred to us as our brand new life. It's an eternal joy to live a flawless life of peace with God. So, this was why he also said that even in times of trouble or tribulations, while we carry out the Lord's mission, we glory in it because this enables us to persevere.

And because we know that whatever we face in this world is nothing compared to the eternity we would spend with our Lord Jesus. This then brings about a proper character that rests on the true hope of His return.

This is what Romans 8:25 means, where it says that if we hope for what we don't see, then we wait for it in perseverance.

Perseverance is what keeps us, knowing who we have become and the hope of the redemption of our bodies in His second coming. This strengthens us as we close our eyes to trials that come our way, and as we also receive the strength to overcome the temptations of this world.

We can only persevere when know causes that drive and zeal within us.

Let us not seize to remember what the Lord has done for us. This allows His Spirit to flow through more as we don't resist it. Remember, always remember why you persevere, and why have to keep your hope alive in Him.

God bless you.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t? Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
