Look Deeper Then You'll See Better

Happy Weekend everyone,

The popular verse in Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Two keywords I underlined are ‘transformed’ and ‘renewing’. Several times we go through a thing, even give a proper explanation of the thing, but the question is, do we really explain these things to ourselves as though we don’t know it, because what I’ve come to understand is that we learn deeper when we teach ourselves what we've taught others. And Romans 12:2 is what I’m using today to call our attention to what we already know but don’t know.

Our existence is made up of three parts which are the spirit, soul (which contains the mind, will, and emotion), and body. When we got saved or became born again into Christ Jesus, what changed was our spirit alone, and not our soul or body, and why was that? It was and is so because Man is a spirit who possesses a soul and lives in a body. So, Jesus saved the real us, then what happens to our soul and body is left to us, in other words, the soul and body are under new management. Therefore, it is alright to say the soul and body should be a reflection of spirit [who is the exact same spirit of Christ Jesus Himself]. Then where does the Romans 12:2 come in?

In my recent write-ups, my focus has been on we being deceived in having a giant or giants due to the lack of relationship with Christ; also on we being violent and not settling for anything less than who Jesus is and we being transformed into Him. Yes, being transformed into Him, and as Colossians 3:4 says that Jesus is our life, then our spirit is Jesus, thus we are sustained by Jesus, as He said for without Him we can do nothing, (ref. John 15:5). Therefore, we have the perfection of Jesus in its entirety.

When Apostle Paul used the word transformed in Romans 12:2, he wasn’t referring to our minds or soul, as the case may be. What he was referring to was our body. Our mind is to be renewed, and when our mind is renewed, our bodies’ transforms into what the mind has become!

Let me go further, we are what we think, and our mind is meant to know who it has become—Jesus Christ. Jesus cannot get sick, our mind needs to know this by being renewed; all authority in heaven and earth are under Jesus’ feet, our mind needs to know this by being renewed. Every negative thing in its entirety that we inherited from the first Adam has ceased to exist in Jesus, and we have become Jesus because we are in Him, and He is our life, and our mind needs to be renewed to this level, who it has become. The moment our mind gets renewed, our body gets transformed into who the mind has become.

In other words, as the mind gets renewed by accepting Jesus as its life, it is meant to show in our bodies, as we get transformed into whatever the mind rests on. True we know this, but the question you are to ask yourself is, why am I sick, why am I poor, why am I depressed, why do I have diseases? All these questions show that our minds haven’t been renewed by resting on who Jesus is, seated at the right hand of God. It is not about how many times you go to church or how well you keep the Ten Commandments (which I wrote in a past write-up is obsolete), rather it is about knowing who Jesus is right now, and your mind knowing that it has become Jesus. This is grace because we did not earn it. You become Jesus by knowing you have become Him by fixing your eyes on Him.

Many of us still rest on our carnal mindset, to think we can still be affected by certain things which are contrary to who Jesus is right now. Our focus should be on who He is because we don’t exist since we died, and Jesus is now our life. Then why are we talking about a life that is dead, think about it, it that your life. WHO IS YOUR LIFE?

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!
