Misplaced Prosperity

Hi everyone,

A lot of us don’t understand what prosperity means to a Son of God. As one who has received Jesus as Lord, you have a reason for being here on earth, and God has assigned you on a mission which I would like to call your ‘true job’, but we often times think we need to run around to earn a living, by going about the routine of the world. I often times see prayer sessions for people to get a job so that they can earn a living. This doesn’t sound wrong right? But for a Son of God, it is praying for what has been given to you already. The scripture talks about being led by the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of Truth. Jesus said in John 16:13 that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. He also said in John 14:26 that the Holy Spirit will teach you all things. So, when we are praying for a job, what job are we praying for?

I see Sons of God praying for material things which Jesus in Matthew 6:33 calls addition. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 6:31-32, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32for after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” But what do we have today, is this not the way many Sons of God live their lives? I call this misplaced prosperity.

Through Jesus, God has already given us a duty or a job as I would call it. Now, this duty is not just a job but our way of life here on earth. It is a mission, a mandate which we were sent as Ambassadors of Christ for, which we must complete before the second coming of Jesus Christ. So, how do we accomplish His assignment? Jesus gave us a hint when He sent out the twelve in Matthew 10. He said in Matthew 10:9-10, “Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, 10nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.”

Jesus didn’t mean that they would suffer to get to their destination. What He meant was that He would be the one to provide for them as they go supernaturally. The one who sends you on a mission has provided for you already, all you need to do is to follow his instructions, the same thing applied to the twelve, and applies to us today, you need to identify your mission and the Holy Spirit guides you all the way, and you would see all your needs met as you go along with Him. This is what Jesus means in the popular Matthew 6:33. When you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, which is identifying your mission here on earth and living it, then the ‘all other things’ would truly be added unto you, because He would never leave you nor forsake you. This is why 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

If a car is needed in getting the mission done, it would be provided; if it is a house, it would be provided. What we just need to do is to follow His every instruction. First of all we are already blessed with all Spiritual blessings, (ref.: Ephesians 1:3), so what is the noise about giving a testimony that God has given you a car, for you to show off, whereas your testimony should be that, based on your mission, a car was needed and He has provided it; there is a difference. The way the world views prosperity is clearly different from how we are to view prosperity.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Stop Searching For What Isn't Lost

Hi everyone,

Has this ever happened to you where you’ll be holding a thing, maybe a pen for instance and you start searching for the pen, but you haven’t calmed down understand what you are searching for isn’t lost, but is in your hand? This has happened to me on different occasion, and searching for what isn’t lost could be so stressful, likewise, in our lives we keep on searching for sound health, success, divine favour, breakthrough and many related to this depending on what your life “needs”, whereas the answer has always been with us. I’m sure you guys are guessing I’m referring to Jesus as the One who has always been around us, but no, I’m referring to something else which is related to Jesus though. Let me explain further.

Grace was given to man, and this grace is a brand new life, this new life comes with a lot of goodies attached to it like perfect health, power, love, sound mind, wealth, the wisdom of God, the mind of Christ and a whole lot more. Now, we receive all these when we choose to accept or receive them and they become ours. But because we were born into an extremely corrupt world, these things look too good to be true and we don’t find part of the grace active in our lives, as some could still fall sick, others suffer from poverty, others don’t have the wisdom to handle certain things and more like that. So, what do the sick do, for instance, they start confessing healing scriptures in order to get healed or made whole? This is good, but how it is done has been the issue as many do it wrong. Let me elaborate further.

Once you have accepted Jesus as Lord, the full package of Jesus’ perfect life becomes yours immediately which is the grace God gave everyone born of God, but as I said, because we would need to grow into believing all these, we seem not to experience the full package all at once even though they have been given to us. Now, here is where some get the confessions wrongly. You are not to confess in order to receive that which God has given you, you are to confess the scriptures in order not to be distracted by the way of the world. A sick man for instance who has received Christ is not meant to confess healing scriptures in order to get healed or whole as the case may be, rather he is meant to confess the scriptures to emphasise where he stands or what he has in his hand, which is the grace of God.

The reason why many of us do not experience a certain part of the grace which Christ has given us is that we are distracted. We are not meant to pray for healing because we are already healed, we are not to pray for blessings because we are already blessed, but because the world shouts at us at every corner, on TV, on the street, through conversations, music around us, everything speaks against what God has given us through Christ, so many times we get distracted and the moment your stand or belief at a particular time isn’t on the grace received but is on the distractions of the world, we won’t find the grace functioning. So, the confession of who we are through the scriptures is not to make us healed or blessed or acquire wisdom and so on, rather is a way we fight the distractions, by establishing who we are in Christ Jesus. When you understand this truth that you are already complete in Christ Jesus, in other words, when you find out that you have been made exactly as Christ is, it helps us understand why we are confessing, and our confessions should in form of thanksgiving to God.

Jesus told Peter to come and meet Him by walking on the water, Peter could walk on water but he was distracted by the waves and wind of the sea and he lost focus on Jesus, this was what made him sink, (ref.: Matthew 14:27-41). This is the same challenge we face as Sons of God as we live our daily lives here on earth. What God has given to us is not too good to be true, because what we have received is the truth. The world is full of lies. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers in dark places, (ref.: Ephesians 6:12). We have received the power and authority of Christ which the devil or the principalities of the devil cannot stand, so the only way he can get to us is just by distracting us.

Remember, we confess the word of God with thanksgiving to prevent us from getting distracted by the devil away from the truth, and not to acquire what has already been given to us.

Submit To Resist

Hello everyone,

Are you aware that the devil has no right or power to touch you? This is because Jesus has disarmed him of all his powers, (ref.: Colossians 2:15), he is completely powerless, the thing he has is just deceit by speaking lies to Man, and these lies have been causing a lot of chaos in the world today. These lies are broadcasted and Man believes and carries out things based on the lies he heard. But you can keep the devil from being around you the moment you notice his presence [because he is not omnipresent]. You can see that in Jesus as He rebuked the devil when He noticed the devil’s presence around Him in Peter which would have caused a negation to the truth, (ref.: Matthew 16:21-23). Just the way Jesus rebuked the devil is the way we are meant to rebuke or resist the devil. But is it just like that?

James 4:7 says, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Many of us just read the second part of James 4:7 which says we should resist the devil and he will flee. What most of us fail to read is the first part of James 4:7. There must be submission to God/Jesus first before you can resist the devil, and why is this important? It is important because it is only at the name of Jesus that the devil can be resisted and by no other means. To submit is to come under the authority or Lordship of a thing or person, and in this case, submission is coming under the Lordship of Jesus. The good thing about this is that you become a joint heir with Jesus, (ref.: Romans 8:17), where you receive 100% authority that Jesus has, still under His Lordship.

The verse before James 4:7 tells us that God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. By being humble, it means dropping your claims of knowledge and allowing Jesus fill you with His by being led by the Holy Spirit, and this is by grace to have the mind of Christ, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 2:16). This process of humility is also a submission to God. It is only then that you can resist the devil that he would flee from you. And of course, having the Holy Spirit living in you would allow you to have the Spirit of discernment, which allows you to recognise the devil easily, just as Jesus recognised the devil speaking through Peter. We must not be carried away, we must be on the alert to resist the devil, but most importantly we must meditate on the word of God day and night to strengthen our Spirit man which is a sign of humility.

Motivational Speeches Without Christ Is Nothing

Hello everyone,

The world by the second grows more evil and corrupt to the point that trickery has entered the church, where we find them speak as motivational speakers but without any true substance, what do I mean? What I mean is that those who want to get people to fall for their ways would found a church and speak as motivational speakers in order to pull the crowd. The message would sound so powerful, but when you analyse it with the word of God, the focus isn’t on Jesus, this is getting common today.

Colossians 2:8 says, “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” The ways of the world should not be mixed with Christ. We have today a lot of deceit as people are led astray through intellectual arguments which makes some question their belief in Christ; some still believe in superstitions and paint it in an attractive way by leading people astray. These sort of things are creeping into the church and some Sons of God are being led astray because they aren’t well grounded on the word, and this is where the leaders of the church come in, what exactly do they teach?

When our focus is on Jesus and we have a church gathering and the focus is on Jesus, it would be easy to identify those who are not of Christ. The devil cannot make the mistake to tell any of his agents to encourage people to meditate on the word of God to know more about Jesus, he just can’t, because that is what he doesn’t want to happen, and this is a way to identify false witnesses.

We should be like the Bereans who after receiving the word would search the scriptures to find out if what they heard conforms to the word of God. But we should do more than they did because of the trickery, we must ensure that what we heard is centred on Jesus and what we received by Grace through faith through His resurrection. We must be on the alert because the devil isn’t resting either.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

The Lesson of the Withered Fig Tree

Hello everyone,

In the popular fig tree story in the Bible which Jesus cursed, going by the Gospel of Mark’s account, there is a lot to learn, which is, the explanation Jesus gave His disciples in Mark 11:20-24. Today, my focus in on the lessons of the withered fig tree.

Jesus was hungry, and seeing a fig tree ahead, he went there hurriedly but found nothing on it which was odd because there were leaves on it. So, Jesus cursed the tree saying to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” (ref.: Mark 11:14). Jesus’ disciples heard what He said and the next day when they took that route, Peter called Jesus’ attention to the tree which had withered as a result of what Jesus said. So, where am I heading with this?

Now, this is where I am going, “Have faith in God.” This was what Jesus said to them. We often read the "speaking to the mountain" and "not doubting part", and the, "whatever you say, by believing it you will have them". But my focus is on Jesus’ first statement which was to have faith in God. This to me is the most important of all what Jesus said, and why is that so?

Many of us think faith moves God, which is a very, very wrong definition of faith. Faith simply is the acceptance of all what God has given to us or has already done by Grace. God is not going to do it because He has already done it. In other words, when Jesus looked at the tree, He had seen by faith that the tree had withered, which is why when Jesus said in Mark 11:24 which says, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” the reason why this can happen is because you need to see what you pray for as that which had been done before you ask the Father, [falling in line with what Jesus said in Matthew 6:32 which says, “For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”].

It was important Jesus started by asking them to have faith in God, thus making them understand the importance of walking in line with God’s plans for their lives and not just anything that crosses our minds, like their wants rather than needs.

As children under the new covenant/Jesus Christ, we are to live and walk by faith, which allows us to be led by the Holy Spirit who guides us, and when we speak to a situation it happens because we know that it had already happened and we then see it manifest physically. Therefore, whatever thing may challenge you, you must first understand that Jesus has victory over it, and has given you that victory. It is with this that you then speak to that situation, and you eventually see it manifest physically.

How To Use The Four Steps of Living, in Joshua 1 verse 8

Hi everyone,

In my previous write-up, I wrote on The Four Steps of Living, in Joshua 1 verse 8. Today, I’ll give examples which would elaborate on the use of these four steps in Joshua 1:8.

The first step focuses on the confession of the Word. Now, it is not just any Word that is confessed, but the Word of God that is confessed as it falls in line with the finished work if Jesus. A man with sickness is expected to confess what the Word of God says concerning his sickness. And he starts to rebuke the sickness by confessing healing scriptures, such as 1 Peter 2:24; Jeremiah 33:6; Psalm 116:8-9, and more.

Then he meditates on these scriptures that he constantly confesses, day and night, which is the second step. He then moves to the third step which is that based on his confession, the Holy Spirit guides his thoughts and way of life, such as his working on his diet, or sleeping pattern, or working on his media habits, and others, all through perseverance by not being distracted by the devil.

He then moves to the final stage, he is strengthened spiritually by faith based on what he has been confessing and meditating, his physical life has a good habit. He then sees the sickness reduce gradually and eventually fade off. All these enabled him to understand that he has the same life as Christ Jesus by being the righteousness of God.

Another person could have financial challenges and would need to go through the four stages of living, in Joshua 1:8.

He would start by confessing the Word of God concerning his financial situation, on scriptures such as Ephesians 1:3; Philippians 4:19; Numbers 23:19-20, and more, which is the first step.

The second step is to for him to meditate on these scriptures day and night, which must be consistent to see the result. And as he does this, the Holy Spirit guides his life, strengthening his spiritually, and through the things he might have not paid attention to, such as how to manage his finance, guiding him on what he was meant to do which would yield income, how to give cheerfully, and more, which is the third step.

The fourth and final step is that through his constant confession, focus, and meditation on the Word of God, he would see his observe his obvious spiritual growth, and how his financial expenses are guided by the Holy Spirit, which would lead him to a debt-free life.

The life of these two persons is just a summary of how your life would change for the better according to how God designed your life to be. It is not what many would call “easier said than done”, it would only be when you don’t try it.

The Lord God has said in many places that we should prove Him if taking our lives according to how He wants it to be [summarised in Joshua 1:8] won’t give us a blessed and fulfilled life. He made us not to suffer, but to enjoy, all you have to do is go through the manual or blueprint He has given us, doing things your way would get you nowhere trust me. Use the four steps of living, in Joshua 1:8, and give that testimony of your transformed life.

The Four Steps of Living, in Joshua 1 verse 8

Hello everyone,

Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” This verse explains how to live according to God’s plans, which is my focus here today.

Under the new covenant, the Law is replaced with the Word of God in line with the finished works of Jesus. Now, the verse starts with the confession of the Word. Yes, it may take a while to properly believe what is being confessed, but just keep on confessing the true Word of God, which would lead to the second step of the verse.

The second step is that we should meditate on what we confess, day and night. As we meditate on what we confess, we then believe and understand what we confess, which would make it effective. By doing this it leads us to the third step.

The third step is that by the consistent meditation of the Word and confession helps to shape our thought pattern to fall in line with God’s plan for us, which is how we are able to observe to do according to what is written in the Word. And this leads to the fourth and final step.

The last and final step is that once our mindset is shaped in line with what God’s plans are for us, we make our ways prosperous and end up in good success.

In my next write-up, I’ll give examples of how these four steps of Joshua 1:8 are used, and how it affects our daily lives.

Believe What You Confess

Hello everyone,

As I explained last time, sin and sins are not the same things even though they are linked. Sin is a nature of the devil, while sins are the characteristics we portray which are not in line with the nature of the God/Jesus. Now, Jesus took that sin nature and gave us a new nature, which is His nature called righteousness. And all those who receive this new nature become Sons and Daughters of God or born again, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have the bad habit of sins. This is so because we have to renew our mind or teach our mind that we are now righteous, and this is done through the constant meditation of the Word of God. And as we continuously meditate on who we truly are, which is, the righteousness of God, our sins start to reduce, and our characteristics qualities of the fullness of Christ increases.

My focus today is still on the meditation of the Word of God. When we are faced with challenges, we have a choice to make, either to accept the challenge as real or stand on what the Word of God says concerning the challenge being faced. Of course, almost everyone would say they would stand by what the Word of God says.

Many confess the Word of God day and night over their challenges and still see no change. But what many don’t know is that confession is not the only that makes the challenges fade. I saw a quote by a Pastor who said, “You can’t just speak the word—you have to believe it, too.” And this is where many get it wrong. You cannot speak the Word and believe another thing, it can’t work! It’s like trying to mix oil and water.

Whenever we confess the Word, we have to believe it, this is where renewal and transformation take place. Confession without belief in what is confessed is like meaningless leaves that that fall off a tree. You have to believe what you are confessing or else you won’t see any transformation. And remember, you have to persevere by not being distracted. It is well with you in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Sin and Sins Are Not The Same

Happy New Week everyone,

My last write-up was focused on meditation, but not just meditation as we’ve often heard it, rather a meditation that produces the result, with something as little as meditating on a new scripture verse every day. And as I said, a scripture verse a day keeps sins away. Today is sort of a continuation from yesterday’s write-up.

When Jesus died on the cross, sin [singular] was nailed to the cross. And as 2 Corinthians 5:21 makes us understand that God made Jesus sin, thus taking the sin we inherited from the first Adam, and in exchange, we received His righteousness. But why do we still act in some cases as though sin wasn’t cleared from us especially after receiving Jesus as Lord of our life?

The answer is simple, the sin Jesus removed from our life was our actually our nature or our life itself, which He replaced with a new life which is His righteousness. The sinful characteristics we sometimes display is where the word sins come in, and it isn’t our life but a bad habit as a result of being ignorant of the Word of God or mixing with people who constantly portray that bad habit.

We must not forget that we became the righteousness of God not by our good works, but by Grace. Our works is then to show who we really are—the righteousness of God. But then again it is meant to happen naturally as a result of our constant meditation on the Word of God, which tells us who we really are. And because righteousness is in our blood, we then display the acts of righteousness through our works which is a gradual process because we are meant to portray the fullness of Christ completely.

As I wrote yesterday when we meditate on the Word of God day and night consistently, with as little as a verse a day, we won’t have time to mix with things that are not of our new nature. You cannot force yourself to act righteous, it is a process your mind needs to adapt to, even though your Spirit is already the righteousness of God which is your true nature, your mind has to be renewed to act that way.

In conclusion, sin has been taken away from you permanently by Jesus and has been replaced with His righteousness. The sins we see is plural which is different from the sin Jesus took away which was our former nature. The sinful attributes being displayed isn’t your nature, but a level of ignorance on not knowing who you truly are, which then appears as a bad habit [sins]. This is cleared off by consistent meditation on the Word of God day and night which then allows your true nature of righteousness manifest through your works. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8 NLT.

An Apple a Day Keeps The Doctor Away?

Happy Sunday everyone,

I ate an apple yesterday morning, and then I remembered the saying, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Then I remembered also that I had done a quick research on apples and found out the apple saying wasn’t a lie. But then what caught my attention was that it wasn’t just eating apples that kept the doctor away, rather it was the consistent eating of an apple a day that would eventually keep the doctor away. Why can’t we do the same with the word of God? Because it isn’t the entire apple tree that we are to eat, but just an apple! The same thing applies to the word of God!

Meditation on the word of God doesn’t have to do with hours upon hours of Bible study, but just something as simple as picking a very striking and powerful verse of the Bible and meditating on it. It would amaze you how much spiritual nourishment you can gain from that single verse. The only thing is that it has to be consistent. And the more you do it, the less you see you see your challenges. Sickness and diseases start to fade off, poverty starts to fade off, you see yourself becoming more and more like Christ in your way of life, and you become the man in Psalms 1:1-3 whom whatever he does prospers just because he meditates on the word day and night.

It’s not how much but how little and the discipline to keep at it, then you’ll know that it’s not only an apple a day that keeps the doctor away, but a scripture verse a day keeps sins away. Do have a lovely Sunday, God bless you.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Look Deeper Then You'll See Better

Happy Weekend everyone,

The popular verse in Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Two keywords I underlined are ‘transformed’ and ‘renewing’. Several times we go through a thing, even give a proper explanation of the thing, but the question is, do we really explain these things to ourselves as though we don’t know it, because what I’ve come to understand is that we learn deeper when we teach ourselves what we've taught others. And Romans 12:2 is what I’m using today to call our attention to what we already know but don’t know.

Our existence is made up of three parts which are the spirit, soul (which contains the mind, will, and emotion), and body. When we got saved or became born again into Christ Jesus, what changed was our spirit alone, and not our soul or body, and why was that? It was and is so because Man is a spirit who possesses a soul and lives in a body. So, Jesus saved the real us, then what happens to our soul and body is left to us, in other words, the soul and body are under new management. Therefore, it is alright to say the soul and body should be a reflection of spirit [who is the exact same spirit of Christ Jesus Himself]. Then where does the Romans 12:2 come in?

In my recent write-ups, my focus has been on we being deceived in having a giant or giants due to the lack of relationship with Christ; also on we being violent and not settling for anything less than who Jesus is and we being transformed into Him. Yes, being transformed into Him, and as Colossians 3:4 says that Jesus is our life, then our spirit is Jesus, thus we are sustained by Jesus, as He said for without Him we can do nothing, (ref. John 15:5). Therefore, we have the perfection of Jesus in its entirety.

When Apostle Paul used the word transformed in Romans 12:2, he wasn’t referring to our minds or soul, as the case may be. What he was referring to was our body. Our mind is to be renewed, and when our mind is renewed, our bodies’ transforms into what the mind has become!

Let me go further, we are what we think, and our mind is meant to know who it has become—Jesus Christ. Jesus cannot get sick, our mind needs to know this by being renewed; all authority in heaven and earth are under Jesus’ feet, our mind needs to know this by being renewed. Every negative thing in its entirety that we inherited from the first Adam has ceased to exist in Jesus, and we have become Jesus because we are in Him, and He is our life, and our mind needs to be renewed to this level, who it has become. The moment our mind gets renewed, our body gets transformed into who the mind has become.

In other words, as the mind gets renewed by accepting Jesus as its life, it is meant to show in our bodies, as we get transformed into whatever the mind rests on. True we know this, but the question you are to ask yourself is, why am I sick, why am I poor, why am I depressed, why do I have diseases? All these questions show that our minds haven’t been renewed by resting on who Jesus is, seated at the right hand of God. It is not about how many times you go to church or how well you keep the Ten Commandments (which I wrote in a past write-up is obsolete), rather it is about knowing who Jesus is right now, and your mind knowing that it has become Jesus. This is grace because we did not earn it. You become Jesus by knowing you have become Him by fixing your eyes on Him.

Many of us still rest on our carnal mindset, to think we can still be affected by certain things which are contrary to who Jesus is right now. Our focus should be on who He is because we don’t exist since we died, and Jesus is now our life. Then why are we talking about a life that is dead, think about it, it that your life. WHO IS YOUR LIFE?

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Do Not Settle For Less! (Part 2)

Hi everyone,

Jesus said in Matthew 11:12, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” This verse is very popular, but what Jesus was saying is that the kingdom of heaven is constantly under attack, but only those who are violent and sure of where they stand, can rightfully take what is theirs.

Let’s look at the temptation of Jesus for a moment. As He was attacked by the devil, He countered it with the word of God. He was loaded with relevant scriptures that aided Him in overcoming the temptation. And remember He had the Holy Spirit in Him who guided Him on the right scriptures to use in countering the temptation. Also, take a look at Peter who tried to convince Jesus not to go to the cross, yeah, Peter was caring right? But, when you know that what is contrary to where God is leading you, it is from the devil, and Jesus recognised it immediately, which was why He rebuked the devil using Peter, (ref. Matthew 16:21-23; Mark 8:31-33).

You must be alert at all times like a soldier at the war front. One thing is clear, the devil doesn’t want you to do what God has called you to do, or to believe what God has made you become in Christ Jesus. So, no matter how cute or nice the voice may come, irrespective of the person. Once it contradicts who you are now in Christ, it is from the devil.

Be violent! Make use of the word, this is why we need to meditate on the word day and night, which strengthens our faith which is our Spiritual shield which quenches the fiery darts of the devil, and the word of God which is the sword of the Spirit that destroys any hindrance placed by the devil on our path, (ref. Ephesians 6:10-20). This is not a child’s play at all.

The mind must be fixed on who it really is, and not be distracted by the devil. A similar example is when Peter walked on water. He was fixed on Jesus, but as he reasoned with his senses, what he was doing didn’t make sense to him, then he began to sink, (ref. Matthew 14:25-33).

In conclusion, we must teach our mind who it has become by reading to it the word of God and dwelling on it. As you dwell on it through confession and meditation, there is transformation and renewal. Always see yourself as a Victor already, and remember, the devil is a wimp but he is an expert in distraction, for those who are not alert. So stay alert!

Do Not Settle For Less!

Hi everyone,

In my last two write-up’s we’ve come to understand that we really don’t have giants in our lives, what we have is a lack of relationship with Jesus Christ, because the more we relate deeper with Christ, the more His life and authority is expressed in everything we do, and the giants we thought we had becomes so minute and irrelevant till they fade away eventually, because there is a greater authority that lives in you. However, having a relationship with Christ, and seeing our giants fade away is not something that happens within a twinkle of an eye, rather, it takes a lot of commitment and consistency to see giants fade away. One reason is because of our mind, what it was used to, the level of the unknown about who Jesus really is, and our environment. All these are reasons why commitment and consistency are really needed. So, what do we really need to do in not giving up, and allowing our minds to remain consistent?

Several times, I’ve said we should meditate on the word of God day and night, and just like that, you’ll see all your troubles run away. Yeah, that’s true when I put it on fast forward, but one thing to take note of is that we are already victorious and successful in whatever area we feel is a challenge. This is not being positive, rather it is because of Jesus who is already victorious above all things that are why we are victorious, and we are in Him, and He in us, what we have to work on is our mind in accepting this truth, which the devil doesn’t want us to believe.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.” AMP. What does this mean? It means that just as you are renewing your mind, the devil is bringing all sort of distractions to ensure you don’t get transformed. If you have a financial challenge, and the Lord put in your heart to sow a seed, the devil reminds you that you would be broke after sowing the seed. He would bring up many reasons why you shouldn't do what the Lord asked you to do (this is very different from false prophets extorting church members).

A person could have a health challenge and after confessing, declaring and believing in your heart that you are healed, the symptoms of the illness surfaces, and devil tells you not to deceive yourself and accept that you have whatever ailment was bothering you. Or maybe in a relationship with your husband or wife, you’ve been having series of unhealthy arguments, and the devil brings up the idea of divorce and all of a sudden, you meet someone who is so sweet and nice, and happen to meet your need at the moment, that which your spouse wouldn’t have done. All these and more are the attacks the devil displays, and the first thing that crosses your mind is, “maybe I’ve done something wrong, that is not making my confession work”, or something like that. The devil makes you doubt yourself because you know the word of God is true, and if it is true, then the fault has to come from you.

Well, I’ll tell you and shout it to you if possible, DO NOT SETTLE FOR LESS!!! What do I mean? Once the Lord has said through His word that you are healed, then you are healed. Once the word of God says you are blessed with all spiritual blessings, then you are blessed. Once the Lord says He will always meet us in our time of need, then take your marriage to the Lord for guidance, and many others. The moment any idea contrary to the word comes up in whatever form, IT IS FROM THE DEVIL.

You must hold on to what the word says, no matter how stupid it sounds. This is where the Holy Spirit comes in to strengthen, guide, and direct us.

In conclusion, you have to be violent because only the violent take what is theirs, and you have to be the one who gets it. The Lord has said it, therefore it is a done deal, signed, sealed, and delivered, case closed. Log on same time tomorrow as I write on part two on this topic.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

How Well Do You Know Him?

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, my write-up was focused on facing the giants in our life and using David as a case study on how he defeated Goliath, and how giants are the same, they just come in various forms. I concluded my write-up yesterday by saying that David knew something which made him know that God was greater than Goliath, which allowed him to defeat Goliath, and this is what my write-up is focused on today.

The simple thing David knew which made his defeat Goliath so easily was that he had a very close relationship with God. The question is, how well do you know Jesus Christ?

When a little boy is on a platform that is high which makes him scared. When the child sees his father down who shouts to the boy to jump that he would catch him, it is the level of confidence the boy has in the father that would make him jump or not. Also, when the boy says he can’t jump because it is too high, it is the assurance the father puts in the son that he would catch him that also makes the boy jump or not. And God/Jesus has given us so much assurance that He has proven Himself to be our Champion and shield; strong tower; our deliverer; our victory; our sanctification; our justification; our protector; our defense, and on and on. But it is only and only when you spend time with Him just like the boy jumped because he had so much confidence in his father, that we would see Jesus as our true victory.

The Bible says in Hebrews 13:8 that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Jesus isn’t going to be victorious because He is already victorious, He is going to be our justification because He already is our justification. It is when we come to the knowledge and understanding of this that we begin to experience Him in our life.

We need to have a deep relationship with Christ Jesus, this was what David had back then even when he operated in a lower covenant than what we operate in. David had come to understand who God is and that there was nothing He hadn’t put under His feet.

David understood that Israel was a nation with a covenant with God, which Philistine didn’t have. It was because He knew that the Lord would fight for His people, with that confidence, and not stupidity, he faced Goliath. David understood at that point that God was going to portray His victory through him. Therefore, he knew it was him running towards Goliath, but God running towards Goliath through him.

The level of peace David had attained through his relationship with God gave so much assurance that God can never fail. This is the same confidence we are to attain as we look at the giants in our life, and then realise that there is no giant bigger than God. And with the knowledge and understanding that all giants have been put under the feet of Jesus (ref. Philippians 2:8-11), that would make shout with confidence that Jesus has won.

The devil has no power of his own anymore, all he does is to feed on our ignorance. This is why we are to be transformed by the renewal of our minds through the meditation of His word day and night, (ref. Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3; Romans 12:2). The battle is not ours but the Lord’s and He has won the battle already through Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:18 says we should grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, which means it is a continuous exercise in standing strong and not giving in to the deceit of the devil.

Lastly, Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” AMP.
