Free Justification 2

Hi everyone,

Last time I explained that the law wasn’t designed to make us righteous but to bring us to the need of a saviour, which we would attain in Christ Jesus, thus having a brand new life. I then posed a question which was that now that we have attained the true righteousness in Christ Jesus, did God forget our sins? And my answer was “Yes” and “No”, and today, I’ll tell you why both answers were given.

Romans 3:23-24 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” but it didn’t end there, verse 25 and 26 says, “whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” So, the question of yesterday if God forgot our sins, I said “Yes” and “No”, looking at verse 25 and 26 of Romans 3, it says Jesus became a propitiation for our sins, in other words, God forgot our sins because the sin itself was handed over to Jesus. He Himself bore our sins, which is the spirit which Adam obtained which wasn’t from God, which the entire world was cursed with, that was what was placed on Jesus, as God gave us His righteousness, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 5:21).

So, yes, God forgot our sins as Hebrews 10:12 says, For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more” This was a quoted from the Prophecy of Jeremiah in Jeremiah 31:31-34. The reason why God said He would not remember our sins again, is because someone had to pay the price for the sin committed in order for the sin to be cleared, and this was what Jesus did by dying on the cross and His pure blood standing as a remission for all our sin, (ref.: Hebrews 9:22). And this is why I also said “No” to the question that God didn’t forget our sins. His words are ye and amen, which implies that whatever He says must come to pass or be fulfilled, thus, as Man carried the sinful spirit, someone had to pay for the sin in order for mankind as a whole to become clean or which is what Jesus did on our behalf. So, God didn’t forget the sins.

As Jesus became the propitiation for our sins, the sinful spirit is gone for good, but not all the job was done by God, we also need to complete the equation. We need to receive or accept what God has done for us through Jesus, in other words, just the way you were given a gift that you need, and it is left to us to receive it or reject it, because God cannot force a thing anything into our lives because He has given us free moral agency. But the good thing about God is that He gives us the question with the answer, still, it is left to us to receive His offer or try another path.

What Jesus for us on the cross is very deep and cannot be finished even in a year’s write-up, because it is as a result of what He did for us that we are alive today. With all that has been written, why do we still have issues of sin despite being born again, doesn’t that make us unholy and unacceptable before God, in other words going back to how we were before? I answered this question before, but I’ll elaborate further in tomorrow’s write-up same time.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Free Justification

Happy New Week everyone,

Yesterday, I explained that the law was meant for a purpose which it had fulfilled, therefore, we are not to rely on it any longer, rather we are to move from the law to what the law fulfilled. In other words, our focus shouldn’t be on the law any longer, because it had fulfilled its purpose. We are to focus on what the law fulfilled. Also, I explained that our righteousness doesn’t come from the law, as Romans 3:21 says that there the righteousness apart from the law, which I would start explaining from today.

Romans 3:20 says, “Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” There could be some who could argue that they had been keeping the law faithfully, but what they failed to understand is that the keeping of the law was a physical exercise and not a Spiritual exercise, and sin originates from the spirit which was gotten from the first Adam. The entire world was born into sin, in other words, everyone on earth carried a spirit which was not the Spirit of God, and if it is not the Spirit of God, then it is a sinful spirit. Thus, the spirit had to be corrected first for progress to be made. In other words, man needed another life to survive which has been provided which Romans 3:21 speaks of.

Man on his own is compelled to follow what the law says, it is not in the nature of man to do what God wants us to do if this were not so the law wouldn’t have been given. It was because man did what was wrong, God pegged us by providing the law in order for us to see that we have been sinning, and not for us to keep because it is impossible to keep the law whose job was only to show us that we need a saviour and another life to survive which Romans 3:20b says, “…for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Since this is so, our righteousness has to come from another source.

Romans 3:21-23 says, “But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” These verses explain how the Law and the Prophets were speaking about the true righteousness from the onset, which everybody is expected to receive through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no one who can say he is not part those who needs a new life of righteousness to stand before God, because the law did not bring righteousness, it only showed us that what we called righteousness is as a filthy rag before God, which is why Romans 3:23 affirms this by saying all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, in other words, we need this true righteousness.

As Romans 3:23 tells us that we all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, verse 24 continues saying, “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Jesus redeemed us freely, does that mean God forgot our sins? The answer is “Yes” and “No”, and I’ll tell you why when you log on tomorrow same time.

The Law And True Righteousness

Happy Sunday everyone,

In some of my last write-ups, I emphasised that we are righteous not by our effort but by what Jesus did, which is very important. The question now would be, ‘what was the essence of the law, wasn’t it important?’ The law was important, but only for an era. The law was meant to reveal something very important which has been done. And since it has been fulfilled, you don’t rest on it anymore, what you now rest on is what it revealed. To buttress my point further, Prophet Isaiah prophesied about a virgin who would conceive. Before the virgin’s conception, it was important to rest on that prophecy, but the moment it has manifested or come to pass, you don’t rest on it any longer, instead, you move to what had manifested.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:17 that He didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill; fulfill could also mean to complete, that is to say, that the law purpose ends with Jesus. This also applies to the Prophets before Jesus. Romans 10:4 says Jesus is the end of the law. But what was the law talking about?

The law itself is perfect, but those were to keep or follow it couldn’t keep it. In other words, the purpose of the law was to show us that we can’t meet up to God’s standard and that we need a saviour, which was why Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 3:21 which says, “But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets.” This verse came after verse 20 which says, “Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20 was saying that in our keeping of the law we found out that we are not justified in the sight of God, verse 21 tells us that there is now the righteousness apart from the law which has been revealed to us, in other words, this source of righteousness does not require you to keep the law in order to attain it. So what is this new source? Log on tomorrow same time to find out.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

HIS Thoughts Towards You Are Perfect

Happy Weekend everyone,

Have you ever tried to navigate your way in a pitch dark area without any source of light? I’m guessing it was very difficult for you to move about. You may be able to navigate your way with care in an environment you are familiar with, but in a completely new place, the best thing for you to do is stay where you are or wait for someone who is very much familiar with the environment to lead you, or better still, wait for light in order to find your way around. Why did I bring this up? Man since the fall of Adam has been walking in darkness, in an area, they have no idea of, but have long been deceiving themselves to think they can find their way around. This is why we see errors upon errors here on earth, a mistake is now a normal thing. But if they know the plans for their lives and how to live it, by having a guide, then they won’t be blind.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” How wonderful does that sound? Our maker and creator who is our Father is the only one who knows what we were sent here on earth to do; we weren’t sent here to follow the routine that we see in the world, that which Jesus spoke of in Matthew 6:31-32. We were sent here individually for a purpose no other person can fulfill, and this is in line with what Jeremiah 29:11 is saying.

In order to know the thoughts and plans God has for us, we need to walk with Him, embrace Him, receive Him into our lives, and have His mind, (ref.: 1 Corinthians 2:16). Romans 8:19 talks of how there is an earnest expectation by the world to see the manifestation of the Sons of God, and this manifestation can only happen by falling in line with what Jeremiah 29:11 says, and that would be yielding yourself to Jesus through the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

You may wonder how to gain access to the Holy Spirit, it’s very simple, once you are born again, He lives in you already. All you have to do is to pray to God, which really is speaking to God for Him to open your eyes and ears to perceive the Holy Spirit’s guidance. This is important because the Holy Spirit has always been speaking to us, but because we are always distracted by things around us, we don’t get to hear Him. This is why it is important for you to tell God to open your heart to receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in other words, to hear Him when He speaks.

Another thing is that the Holy Spirit communicates in different mediums, but He picks that which would be striking to you. God the Father, has a plan for us, and it is only when we yield ourselves to Him through the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we would fall into the perfect will and plan of God for our lives.

Be Still, God Is In Control

Hello everyone,

There are times in our lives where we engage in certain projects which would generate profit at the end in the long run. This project of yours is being guided by a person whom you know has been the brain behind every success you’ve ever had, and has never failed to deliver. But it happened that you saw some guys who went into a business you had no idea of and before you knew it started driving porch cars and flaunting their riches here and there. All of a sudden you wish you were like them, thinking about what you are doing is taking a long time. But these guys aren’t clean, still, you envy them, why?

Psalms 37:7 from the Amplified says, “Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.” We shouldn’t be impatient by envying people around us who flaunt their riches especially after you being guided by Holy Spirit. God cannot lead you to a dead end. The Bible says, the Lord is our Shepherd, and because of that, we shall not want, (ref.: Psalm 23:1). Just the way the sheep entrust their lives unto the Shepherd, likewise, we should entrust our lives to the Lord, and be patient with Him as He leads us.

The Lord created time for us and knows the perfect time for us to enter in certain blessings. He said He will never leave us nor forsake us, (ref.: Deuteronomy 31:6, 8; Joshua 1:5; Hebrews 13:5) and this is true. King David wrote that, since he was born he has never seen the righteous forsaken, nor beg for bread, (ref.: Psalm 37:25). Walking with the Lord is walking in the path of perfection, where everything manifests at the right and perfect time, not too early and not too late.

Many of the people we envy get what they call prosperity through shady means, and it always comes with a price. But the Lord God Almighty gives us the power to get wealth without any price to pay, but by grace (ref.: Deuteronomy 8:18).

Our Righteousness and Justice In The Light

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I wrote on why commitment and trust is key, which has to do with getting the desires of your heart. But one we must know is that we don’t serve a God who just gives the desires of our heart because we were committed to Him and put our trust in Him, no; we serve a God who takes good care of us as His children, of which we actually are His children. When we put our lives in the hands of God, we allow the best come to us, because it is always the best God offers. Psalm 37:6 says, “He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”

Now, Psalms 37:6 says, the Lord would bring forth our righteousness, but we understand that our righteousness before God is like a filthy rag. So, what righteousness was David referring to? He was referring to God’s righteousness, who is Jesus. Psalms 37:5 talks of us committing our ways to the Lord and trusting also in Him, which would imply giving ourselves to Him. And by giving ourselves to Him we receive His righteousness who becomes our life and lifestyle. So, our life which is righteous, not by our effort, but as a gift is brought forth as the light, and justice as the noonday. This also goes to show that for God to do this implies you are now in right standing with Him.

Commitment and Trust are Key

Hello everyone,

When traveling to a place for the first time, it is important to get a guide or a help who would direct your steps. It is better when you have a map which the guide uses to direct you, this makes things easy for you. By using the map, it shows that you trust it, and by following the interpretations of the guide, it implies your commitment to him. Likewise, in manifesting the desires of our heart, we need to commit ourselves to God, because He is the only One who knows the end from the beginning, and knows what is best for you also. Psalms 37:5 says, “Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” The key word here is ‘commit’. It is when you have been able to commit where you are going to the LORD that you would then be able to trust also in Him.

To trust in the LORD after committing your ways to Him by allowing Him to take complete control of your decisions, thus, His plans become your plans. You won’t have anything which is outside what He wants you to do, this could sound like a risk by entrusting your life in the hands of the LORD. But the LORD God time and time again has proven Himself worthy by staying faithful and He is not a man that would lie or change His ways.

We have no choice but to entrust our lives to someone, but who is worthy of it? Only Jesus is, which is why Psalms 37:5 says, after committing your ways to the LORD and trusting Him, that the LORD brings our heart desires to pass. Commit your ways to Him and also trust Him, and Psalm 37:4 won’t be just mere words, but a reality in your life.
