No, You Don’t Sound Silly

You know, there are times we go through the scriptures and read about things that happened to people or certain declarations that were made, but these things cannot be scientifically proven. But the moment science proves some of them, there is a sigh of relief in a way to prove that you weren't silly holding on to the things of the Bible.

For instance, the book of Isaiah 40:22 talks of the stretching of the galaxy. This was more than two thousand years before scientists figured this out.

Now, remember when Joshua spoke to the sun to stand still, (ref.: Joshua 10:12-14). With your understanding of astronomy, we understand that it is the Earth and not the Sun that moves. So, it would mean that it was the Earth and not the Sun that stopped Joshua spoke. But it doesn't make sense right? It doesn't make sense because science hasn't proven it.

Are we to rest on the word or on what science says? As Sons and Daughters of God, we are to rest on the word of God because it is true. Science should try to catch up with the words of God, and not prove that what the word of God says is true.

From Adam to date according to the Bible is just around 6,000 years. But the scientist says man has been living on the earth for millions of years. Who will you believe? You would say the word of God, but cannot boldly declare because of the fear of being silly.

The word of God is true. If science says otherwise, then science is wrong, we need to understand that.

Again, sometimes we won't want to say the word isn't true because we claim it is God's word, but do you believe the word? Do you place what is written in it above every other theory of man?

We shouldn't sound relieved when science proves what is written in the word as true. We should shake our heads at the high level of their ignorance.

Now, I'm not saying science is rubbish. What I am simply saying is that whatever science says that is contrary to the word of God is wrong.

The level of God is far above human understanding. This is what we must remember. If God said it, it is true, and I don't need to prove it because God and NOT man said it, that's all.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t? Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Do You Really Trust God?

Yes, you became a Son or Daughter of God and were filled with the Holy Spirit. By this, you could function with the auction of the Holy Spirit.

Now, one thing we must always remember is that the Holy Spirit speaks in line with the word of God. He never speaks in isolation to the word of God.

Now, as a Son or Daughter of God, the Lord God will place in your heart what He needs you to do here on earth. In the meditation on the word, you receive a revelation of the word which serves as a light unto your path in fulfilling what He has placed in your heart. The Holy Spirit shows you how to go about it through His leadership.

The Holy Spirit cannot force you to go about what He has asked you to do. It is left to you to make the decision yourself.

Your trust and belief are the only reason why what He asked you to do will be a success or not. The question now is, do you really trust God?

The question sounds funny, right? But my reason for saying this is that some of the things the Lord may ask you to do might not make logical sense. But if you knew it was God who asked you to do it, then why doubt or procrastinate?

Jesus said in Luke 9:62, "But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” The Message Bible puts it thus, "Jesus said, “No procrastination. No backward looks. You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow. Seize the day.” MSG.

You don't have any excuse as to why you don't want to carry out God's assignment for your life. Is it what people would say? Your friends or family?

Jesus again said in Luke 14:26, "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple." What Jesus means by this is that in life, there is someone or something that you put as the highest level of respect and reverence. If it isn't Jesus, then you're not ready to be His disciple, or else excuses become the order of the day to the work of the Lord, whatever it is.

A lack of trust can cause stagnation, so don't ask questions if you're not moving forward. Do you trust the Lord? If you do get up and keep your eyes on Him and Him alone, you'll feel peace like never before.

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Jesus

Have you ever gone to a place, and without saying anything, you met someone or people who could tell where you come from? It's surprising but no matter who you are, your lifestyle speaks where you come from, or what ideology you follow without saying anything.

As Sons and Daughters of God, we are to reflect Christ Jesus in all we do. The moment we received Christ Jesus into our hearts, He became our new life, as He became our Spirit. In order words, all that we do should naturally reflect Jesus.

2 Corinthians 3:3 says, "clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that  is, of the heart."

As we go about telling people about Jesus, people won't come to Christ because of what you said alone. They would come to Christ because of your lifestyle. If people cannot see Jesus in you, then you have been joking, or you don't know where you stand.

People don't know Jesus, but people know you. It is your life that draws them to Christ. You are their friendly neighbourhood, Jesus.

If your life doesn't depict the life of Jesus, then you don't know your identity, you don't know who you are.

Your words and actions should reflect Christ Jesus in sincerity and not in hypocrisy.

Be the friendly neighbourhood Jesus wherever you are, and see people's lives transformed.

Still Tired After The Required Amount of Sleep?

It is a normal and natural cause for every human to sleep. Sleep is likened to the way a battery is recharged for another task.

But have you ever noticed the time you had the required hours of sleep, but it seemed as though you didn't sleep enough?

According to psychological findings, the simple truth to this matter is that you had thoughts on your mind before you slept, and these thoughts affected your sleep and your body.

Worries are things that could stay on a person's mind before sleeping.

Psalms 127:2 says, "It really is senseless to work so hard from early morning till late at night, toiling to make a living for fear of not having enough. God can provide for his devoted lovers even while they sleep!" TPT.

When I saw this verse, I was humbled because the natural way of man is to rise very early in the morning and work hard till late at night, not just for anything, but because of the fear of not having enough.

Just be honest with yourself, is this not the major reason why you wake up very early and work till late at night?

King Solomon who wrote that 127th chapter of Psalm wasn't disputing the fact that waking up early is wrong. What he was disputing is the reason for this action.

To have what I call the 'scarcity' mindset is to say God has kept you as orphans. But this goes against His words in Hebrews 13:5 which say He will never leave us nor forsake us.

God didn't bring us to this world to suffer but to enjoy His abundance through His leading, which we can only tap into through faith and trust in Him.

King Solomon further said in Psalms 127:2, "God can provide for His devoted lovers even while they sleep!" TPT. Shouldn't this be a slap on your face for how loving God is, that the wisest man who ever lived is bringing our attention to the love and grace of God?

Again the writer of Hebrews said in Hebrews 13:5, "Don’t be obsessed with money but live content with what you have, for you always have God’s presence. For hasn’t he promised you, “I will never leave you, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!” TPT.

So, how do we live the God's kind of life?

Be humble and listen to Him, it is that simple, (ref.: 1 Peter 5:6-7).

If this is still confusing to you, then meditate on His word day and night. It is in His words that we find revelation (what our purpose is here on earth), (ref. Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3). And praise be to God, anyone born of God or born again has the Holy Spirit who directs our every path, telling us how to go about our purpose in life, (ref. Psalm 119:105).

By following the leading of the Spirit, we then find out that we cover more grounds in fulfilling our true purpose in life, and we have sound sleep (ref. Romans 12:2).

To not listen to Him is to remain on the way that wasn't profitable (ref. John 3:18). So, the choice is yours.

Why Should We Love Our Neighbours?

Romans 6:14 says, "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace." This sounds amazing because anyone who is born of Christ Jesus is free from sin. However, being free from sins doesn't give you the liberty to do just anything because you're not under the law which imputes sin.

True, you may say you do not intend to sin, but you do not just do anything in the sense of not having anyone guiding or leading you.

Galatians 5:13 says, "Beloved ones, God has called us to live a life of freedom. But don’t view this wonderful freedom as an excuse to set up a base of operations in the natural realm. Constantly love each other and be committed to serve one another." TPT. We have freedom but we are not left as sheep without a shepherd. And we know that Christ Jesus is our shepherd. The question would be, 'What does Christ want us to do?'

Galatians 5:14 went ahead saying, "For all the law can be summarized in one grand statement: “Demonstrate love to your neighbor, even as you care for and love yourself.” TPT.

All that Christ Jesus would expect us to do is to love our neighbours as ourselves. This is the summary of the law itself in which the Spirit of Christ Jesus we have received compels us to live. But how do we do this?

Keeping the law wasn't our nature when we were in the world, which made it impossible to keep. However, Christ Jesus was the only one who fulfilled the Law, and God raised Him above every other name in heaven, earth, and under the earth. It is His Spirit we received as our new life to live and walk by faith in Him.

In other words, our nature is the nature of Christ Jesus, allowing us to live and walk as Him. This is why we can walk in the Spirit and not gratify the flesh, just because we now can do that, (ref.: Galatians 5:16).

And because we now have the Spirit of God, we can be led by the Holy Spirit to walk in Him by loving our neighbours as ourselves. And even deeper, as we are now Christ, and Christ is in us.

The life of a Son or Daughter of God is straightforward if we are humble to allow Him to lead us in the path of righteousness, the righteousness Christ gave us as a gift by grace through faith in Him.
