Happy Sunday everyone,
Many times I wanted to know what
being meek really meant, and I found out that it was a deeper form of humility,
wow, that must be really serious because being humble isn’t what everyone just
intend to display especially the way the world is, not to talk of being meek. Meekness
as I understand isn’t what man displays naturally, it is a rare nature which
God treasures a lot, because it is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Today,
I’ll be looking at what would happen to those who are meek.
Jesus in His sermon on the mount
said in Matthew 5:5, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the
earth.” Wow, that’s serious, Psalms 37:11, says, “But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves in
the abundance of peace.” It is clear that those who are meek shall inherit
the earth. The Message Bible puts Matthew 5:5 thus, “You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no
less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t
be bought.”
To be meek is not what anyone
would just want to be going its synonyms: the mild, patient, long-suffering. With
the way the world is being proud is the way forward, being meek requires the
presence of the Holy Spirit, which becomes the eventual nature of anyone who
receives the Holy Spirit and works with Him. Jesus said the meek shall inherit
the earth.
To be meek doesn’t mean being gullible
or being weak, it means being wise when you look at it in the long run. And in
the case where you walk with Holy Spirit, it means counting your wisdom and
human acquisitions as anything, it also means being submissive, by being ready
to drop yours and ready follow the Wisdom beyond wisdoms, as God Himself would
always give grace to the humble and one of it is that they would inherit the
earth, (ref.: 1 Peter 5:5-7). You are blessed when you are meek and there is
the grace of inheriting the earth for being so, so be receive the Holy Spirit
today, walk with Him and see yourself being meek and you’ll see how everything
works to your favour.
May the LORD bless
you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you
and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.
Why not accept Jesus
today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus,
I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God
raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank
You for saving me!” Congratulations,
you’re born again, you are now brand new!
