Happy Weekend everyone,
Yesterday, I started going through
the beatitudes that Jesus spoke of in His Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew
5:3-12. I started with the first of the beatitudes, but today I’ll look into
the second in the beatitudes, so tag along.
Matthew 5:4 says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” The Message
puts it thus, “You’re blessed when you
feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the
One most dear to you.” To mourn doesn’t only have to be when your loved
ones have passed away, the Message says, “…when
you feel you’ve lost…” which could also mean the person might have been
abandoned by family and friends or situations similar to this creating a sense
of loss. Are you that person who have lost everything? Things would certainly
feel tough and sad for you, but remember what Jesus said, even though everybody
have abandoned you, God would never abandon you, not only would He never leave
you nor forsake you, He would comfort you, He would be most dear to you (ref.
Hebrews 13:5-6). Jesus said you are blessed, which means He is ever ready to
take care of you in your time of trial.
Are you that person who lost
family and friends for following Jesus? Jesus is always there for you in every
single way. But you may say, even though He is real, you don’t get to see Him
physically, not exactly, God functions through His children, which is why He
could send you new family and friends who would be there to comfort you and be
there to strengthen you as you keep walking with the Lord. Remember, in my
write-up few days ago, He always gives us evidence, so it isn’t just one breeze
that blows which seems to show He is always there, no, He sends His children to
show He heard of your case and have sent them to show He is ever ready to take
care of you. For Him to say you are blessed means He cares.
Don’t think God doesn’t care
about what we go through, on the contrary, His love for us is so great that it
cannot be measured because it would blow your mind, and nothing can separate you
from the love of Christ, (ref.: Romans 8:35), so embrace the One who is most dear
to you, love Him because He first loved you.
May the LORD bless
you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you
and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.
Why not accept Jesus
today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus,
I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God
raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank
You for saving me!” Congratulations,
you’re born again, you are now brand new!
