God Is Not Deaf or Mute

Hello everyone,

It is important to pray, but when you keep on repeating the same thing over and over and you don’t see any positive changes, it means one thing, God has spoken to you, but you didn’t listen. First of all, we don’t serve a God that is deaf or mean who won’t want to respond till your tear dock is dry, rather we serve an ever-merciful God and is our ever help in time of need, so why would He be quiet as things get worse, not remaining the same? Jesus said He is the light of the world (ref.: John 8:12), and what does light do? It illuminates the area, which means it allows people to see better, it gives hope, it saves lives, and He now has given us the mandate by telling us to go out to be salt and light to the world (ref.: Matthew 5:13-15).

To be the salt and the light of the world doesn’t mean you should just pray in your closet alone, that is putting your light under a bushel. Salt is a natural seasoning which improves the cooking, it improves, brings to light a good taste, sort of like coming to the rescue, the same is also said of light. Light is very essential, for without it there would be chaos, this would mean that to be the light is to bring peace, and by bringing peace is to bring transformation.

To pray is to communicate with God by making requests in some cases, but the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY whom I serve communicates with His children, He isn’t mute, He speaks, and when you speak to Him through prayers He responds by giving us answers. He tells us what to do which brings the result we’ve always wanted. Look through the Bible, there wasn’t a time God didn’t respond, and many times He gave instructions on what to do.

To be the salt and light of the world, you must walk with God by putting your ears down to listen to what He has to say after you’ve made your prayers. The Bible says in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” You light has to shine through your works, this is the only way the world can be transformed.

Remember our God wants a dialogue with His children, He is our ever present help in time of need, He is ever merciful, and He is not deaf and not mute.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

Salvation Is Not Free

Hello everyone,

As we know, we cannot buy anything without a price placed on it right? Everything has a price. Many as I’ve heard have said salvation is the only free thing given to us, but salvation isn’t actually free as many think. Jesus paid the price for our sins that we might gain salvation. Is that it? No, that’s not what I’m talking about. Jesus paid the price for our sins, sin was the wall blocking us from salvation which Jesus has offered the world, but contrary to many people’s thought, salvation is not free. So, why is salvation not free and what are we to pay in order to get salvation, that’s for those who haven’t gotten salvation?

If you have received salvation, think properly and you would remember that you paid a price before you received salvation. Let’s take look at John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” you pay for salvation with your belief or faith, without believing in Jesus you cannot get salvation. Your belief is not something you take for granted, because the lack of it can prevent anyone from receiving salvation. If you never had faith or belief in Jesus you wouldn’t have received salvation.

Faith is a currency as many know, but one thing about it is that what we need is offered to us, but it is left to us to receive it, of which the act of receiving is faith or belief in Jesus. Let us not take our salvation for granted, for Jesus first paid the price for our sins in order for us to gain access to salvation. Jesus has done everything for us, providing all the needs that we never merited, these are enough reasons for us to receiving salvation by believing in Jesus. The more you increase in faith, it allows you to believe the more what has been offered you. Even though salvation appears to be free, it won’t be free without faith. So how do you acquire more wealth of faith? Easy, Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).” AMP.

The Height of Being Led by the Holy Spirit

Hi everyone,

I believe many of us have role models, and these role models are those we tend to emulate, from the way they handle certain things, it could be how they handled their businesses, or their fashion sense, or their mannerism to things, there is something that would have drawn you to that particular person to have made you pick the individual as your role model. Well, for me, my role model is Jesus Christ, not because I just want to feel like a Christian (a hypocritical one in this sense), but it’s just my personal choice just the way anyone of you would have picked any other person. Every time I read the gospels about Jesus and how He spoke and the authority He carried, it just thrilled me so much, that I just want to be like Him. Today, I’ll share with you a popular story about Jesus. The answer He gave has deep meaning involved, let me show what I’m talking about.

In the popularly recorded temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4 and Luke 4, I’ll only look at the first temptation which the Amplified Bible puts Matthew 4:3-4 thus, “And the tempter came and said to Him, If You are God’s Son, command these stones to be made [loaves of] bread. But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.” It is not the fact that Jesus said He won’t turn the stones into bread, but that He won’t turn the stones to bread without the permission of God His Father. I’ve explained this aspect before that Jesus told the devil that He won’t do anything without the Father’s approval, but that wasn’t what struck me as I meditated on it again. What struck me was that Jesus had just ended His forty days fasting and was hungry, definitely the hunger must have been intense. Logically, there wasn’t anything wrong with turning stones into bread, but He wasn’t going to use His anointing without the leading of the Spirit for some as irrelevant as food in this case.

I have often said, we need to always be led by the Holy Spirit, but for something as irrelevant as food, for himself, not food in terms of receiving from another person, but after fasting which it was normal to break with food, Jesus wasn’t going to eat without being led by the Holy Spirit, based on His response because He replied by saying, “Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.” That was the height of commitment and intense obedience to the Father/Holy Spirit. What Jesus taught us was that we are to be led by the Holy Spirit to even what we consider irrelevant.

It sounds like I keep making too much emphasis on being led by the Holy Spirit, but to live a flawless life and a life that is pleasing to God, a life where you fulfil your destiny and mission here on earth, it is only the Holy Spirit that can give you this perfect life. Yes, we would most likely make mistakes at the beginning but as you walk with the Holy Spirit and are being led by Him, your life gets perfected, and you grow into and “come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” Ephesians 4:13. You can never over depend on the Holy Spirit, because your true and perfect success here on earth depends on your being led by the Holy Spirit as Jesus lived a perfect life here on earth, trust me you won’t regret it.

Why You Shouldn't Take Laws Into Your Own Hands

Hello everyone,

Many times we tend to take laws into our own hands on certain matters. Well, the “we” I’m referring to are those we call “Christians”, the Sons of God. What am I talking about? It is the aspect of the use of authority. As a Son of God, you have been given the full authority of Christ, through Christ Himself, but many times we wonder why the authority seems not to work at certain times. Today, I’ll tell you why.

Angel Gabriel visited Mary the Mother of Jesus, in the nativity story, and as he told her of what would become of her, he also told her of her cousin Elizabeth who was once called barren but was then with a child. It was then Angel Gabriel said in Luke 1:37 which says, “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Jesus told the disciples how hard it was for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God, with the story, they said who can be saved? Jesus then said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (ref.: Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27). The emphasis is not on the story that was given but on what was said that with God all things are possible. Jesus said, with man things are impossible, but with God all things are possible. This is what made me say, some Sons of God could take or have taken laws into their own hands because they feel, after having the authority of Christ, all things are possible, now, this is where meditation is key.

The truth of the entire matter is that whether you possess the power of Christ inside of you, anything you do is with the authority of man, and failure is bound to happen, why? This is so because the scripture says, “with God”, if it is not with God in other words if you are not led by the Holy Spirit, nothing is possible. This is where we must be careful as we live our daily lives. All things are only possible because what we did was with God’s leading, we shouldn’t make any decision and think because we carry the Holy Spirit, it is automatically right. What it means is that we must be sure that this is what God wants us to do, which is why we must be filled with the Spirit in order to properly commune with the Spirit to get His direction. Our authority isn’t from us but from Christ; this is why 1 John 5:14 says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” everything has to be according to His will, which is with God, in other words being led by the Holy Spirit.

Your Heart Justifies or Rejects Your Giving

Happy New Week everyone,

We many times want to please God with our substance. Giving has been a thing I’ve heard a lot in churches, giving through offerings, tithe, and other things. The continuous repetition of giving has been overemphasised, whereas what many don’t know is that God doesn’t want our money or wealth. The reason why it would appear that God received or receives resources is only that the person offering has done what God wants to see. I believe I have written on this before now, but it is always important that we remind ourselves of what is important and true which God wants from us.

The Amplified Bible puts Romans 12:1 thus, “I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.” 1 Corinthians 3:16 says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 6:19 says, “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” Proverbs 23:26 says, “My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.” So what does God want?

There is nothing God wants order than your heart, order than you. Romans 12:1 emphasised presenting one’s body as a living sacrifice, this is the reasonable and spiritual act of worship. This is what God wants to see, whatever you give to God is not acceptable if you haven’t presented your body as a living sacrifice. First of all, when your body is presented as a living sacrifice, you are transformed completely, whatever you own or possess is acceptable to God. And we should know that all that we own belongs to God, so this is where tithing of 10% doesn’t make any sense, by saying 10% belongs to God and 90% belongs to you. Do not forget also, you are of God, you were bought with a price, so everything you own belongs to God.

Our focus should be on presenting our bodies as living sacrifice, and in order to achieve this, we are to be transformed by the renewal of our minds daily. The more you transform your mind, you become more and more like Jesus, thus we yield ourselves more to the Holy Spirit’s leading, therefore, all our giving, offering and whatever is done by the leading of the Spirit. The truth is that if anyone should make noise about tithing, then the person should give 100% of their income! You are to give by the leading of the Spirit, and of course, God knows those who give genuinely. It is not about what anybody thinks, but what God thinks, only God knows what you are going through, which was why Jesus asked us not to judge. Jesus also made reference to the widow’s mite. It is not about how much, but about the heart behind the giving. But remember, the most important part of giving is by giving yourself to God.

More Than A Friend

Hi everyone,

When we think about faith with reference to the scriptures, the first person that would most likely cross our minds would be Abraham, he was called a friend of God, (ref.: James 2:23), and being a friend of God is what everyone would love to become, right? Abraham was someone accounted for righteousness and great faith, but when you take a look at Abraham’s life, he won’t be someone you would say deserved to be called righteous. Abraham married Sarah who was his half-sister, this was an abomination according to the law, (ref.: Leviticus 19:9, 26; Genesis 20:12). Abraham lied about Sarah not being his wife, he was willing to allow a man commit adultery with her to save his neck, (ref.: Genesis 12:10-20). All these are enough not to call Abraham a righteous person, not to talk about becoming a friend of God, but these were not what God looked for in him. What made Abraham righteous was that he believed what God told him and held on to it, no matter how long it took, he didn't allow anything affect what God told him, this was where his faith came in. This was an act of grace from God, but even though Abraham was called the friend of God, there is a level higher than being a friend of God and this is what I would write about today.

Abraham believed God, even though his life still showed some flaws. Even with the flaws, Abraham maintained what God had told him, this was where faith came in. But in the level higher than being a friend of God, Jesus said in John 3:16b, that “…whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” to believe in Jesus is an act of faith, in this case you receive a new Spirit and you don’t just become a friend of God, you become more than a friend, you become a Son of God, this is when one becomes born again.

We must all remember that a Son is one who is an heir and is extremely dear to the Father, even more than a friend. As we remember who we are to God [who is our Father], because of Jesus, it helps us to understand how much God cares for us. Even with all that He bestowed upon Abraham who was a friend, you can’t then imagine how much love and care He would bestow upon we His children. As Romans 8:35 says, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” nothing can separate from the love Christ has for us, because we are Sons of God which is more than being friends of God, let us remember this always as we live our daily lives.

Do You Know Whose Authority You Are Under?

Hello everyone,

The great commission is a very popular thing I believe almost everyone in a church gathering must have heard about. When asked where it is in the Bible, we could be quick to reply saying Matthew 28:19, but are we really doing what the great commission says? My focus actually is on the verse before verse 19 of Matthew 28, so what does it say? Matthew 28:18 say, “Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” AMP. It was after this He said, “Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).” AMP. My focus today is that we should really meditate on why certain things were said, we shouldn’t just rush through believing that we know. So even if you know, let me explain the importance of Matthew 28:18.

In my country where I live, and in most countries, the Head of States or the President, as the case may be, is the overall head of the military, the President is the one who can give direct command to the military which must be obeyed, which implies that the President has the authority to overrule any command given by any commanding officer lower than he is, it also implies that if a General gives an order, a recruit who is one with the lowest rank can bridge that command, just because the President gave that recruit a command which stands higher than the command given by the General. Why am I saying this, Jesus said, “All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” Which is clear to say that there is no authority both in heaven and on earth that is greater than that of His. It was with that authority and power of rule that He then said, “Go then and make disciples of all the nations…” the power and authority to do that are not of our own accord, but with the authority of Jesus, this is what we must take note of. Philippians 2:9-11 says, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Do you know Whose authority you’re under? We need to know Who He is, because if you think everything that has a name doesn’t know Him, then you don’t know Who He is. And when I say “name”, I mean everything that is a noun in any form; from people, to creatures, to organisms, to water, to non-living things (which we think isn’t living), to everything that has a name, even diseases, sicknesses and many more. Once you have been given a command from Him, carrying out that command won’t be with your authority but His authority and you must present this, which means you must carry His badge of command on you and in you, so that as you get to your place of assignment, you don’t need to talk too much, just coming in His name has given you access, because He is our authority.

In as much as Jesus is our authority, do not go where He didn’t send you because you won’t be covered, this is why you must be led by the Holy Spirit. The Sons of Sceva went to do what they weren’t sent to do, this was why the evil spirit didn’t recognise them, (ref.: Acts 19:11-20). You must be sent and to be sent, you must be baptised in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is a mark of one carrying the Spirit of Christ because without this, you cannot function properly. You cannot put new wine in old wineskin. The command of Jesus is of the Spirit of God of which only the carriers of that Spirit can follow the command, this was why Jesus told the disciples to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit before they can carry out the mission which He gave them, and which is still our mission today.

Do you know whose authority you are under? Know Jesus more and more, the confidence you have in Jesus allows everything to bow, just because of His name.

Why Every Second Counts

Hi everyone,

I admire the animal cheetah especially when they go out to hunt, they run as fast as 80-120 km/h to catch a prey, but even with their speed, they can only do this for a short burst because they would get tired when they don’t get the prey with particular seconds, so for the cheetah, every second count.

Many times we often wonder why we make plans and they eventually don’t work out. This could be quite frustrating especially if the plan was to achieve a particular goal. There are many reasons why these plans don’t work and one of it would be that you didn’t do what Proverbs 16:3 says which is, “Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.” This is important because, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.” But we find out that even when these are done some still find their plans not working, what could be wrong. I asked this question a long time ago and the Holy Spirit revealed to me what was wrong, and that is what I intend to share with you today.

First of all, a man is literarily blind when it comes to knowing the future, I didn’t say predicting the future. All man has been doing is to predict the future based on the experiences of others who had taken the route they intend taking, but if it was that easy, the world wouldn’t have anything going wrong because all they have to do is just follow the successful experiences of others. The reason as I said earlier is that man doesn’t know the future, this is why it is important to follow the guide of One (The word of God with the Holy Spirit as the guide) who knows the future and all its outcomes in order to achieve success in life. There is only one reason so far that would not make your plans work even after committing to the Lord and intending to follow His every step—PROCRASTINATION!

Procrastination is the grand master and number one thief of success. What many don’t take into consideration is that every second that is lost is lost and cannot be regained unless the Lord Himself gives you that thing which you were meant to achieve at that moment, and there is a reason why that would be done, (ref.: Joel 2:25).

Every plan is usually broken into bits, and by bits, it means each bit has its time of achievement. The moment you decide to delay in carrying out that part of your plan, that is the beginning of that plan not being actualised. A second loss in a day has made that day become 23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds, it can never be 24 hours anymore because of every second count. What could be the reasons for procrastination?

The reasons could be simply put as distractions, which means that the time dedicated for a things was replaced by another that wasn’t part of the plan for that day, as a result of that the original time has been cut short and must be regained by sacrificing the time of another thing in order to achieve that which was cut short. However, many people give logical reasons that would sort of justifying why certain things were cut short. But still, there are things which are causes of procrastination, and some include: laziness e.g. sleeping when you’re meant to work, not placing one’s priorities right. Proverbs 20:4 says, “The lazy man will not plough because of winter; he will beg during harvest and have nothing.” Proverbs 6:10-11 says, “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep—so shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.”

One thing we must understand is that procrastination slows down our spiritual growth, it keeps us from getting closer to God as we keep giving excuses for not studying the scriptures or praying or visiting or calling a person, excuses upon excuses, and this is what the devil likes, because if we don’t know it know it now, the devil creates obstacles for us to procrastinate. The Bible talks about the man in Psalms 1 that he meditates on the law day and night, he was focused and didn’t allow, the things in Psalms 1:1 to make him procrastinate.

The solution to procrastination goes back to Proverbs 16:3 which says, “Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.” You must know this that the Lord is ready to arrange your timetable if you allow Him to, the only issue here is that you must develop the drive in you to follow through what the Lord has established for you. We cannot have a perfect life without Him, He is our perfection, so just follow His directions for your life and you will see procrastination leave you. God would never set a timetable that you cannot achieve, He will always set things that suit you and only you. If you are finding it difficult in achieving your goals, go to Him, don’t think you can get it right by yourself. Remember, He has given you success, all you have to do is hold His hands as He takes you there.

There are Two Routes, But One Route

Hello everyone,

Last time, I wrote on How To Live with emphasis on how to live our daily lives by the faith of Jesus, thus, pleasing God in everything we do. My focus today is on understanding the dynamics of life, on how we live. We need to understand that no matter how the world is, there is still a pattern, nothing happens by accident, in other words, just the way we all drive our cars on roads following a particular route, likewise there are routes in life which can never collide, because you cannot be on more than one route at the same time. In the same vein, life has only two routes, but one route, sounds funny right? Life has two routes but one route, I’m sure many are thinking I’m referring to heaven and hell, but that’s not what I’m referring to exactly. There are two routes but there is only one route you can create throughout your stay here on earth, the final destination would either fall on any of the routes you choose eventually, let me explain further.

I said there are two routes but one route, what are the two routes? They are the route of Grace and the route of Self, these two are the only two existing routes, but how you live would be to take a route, which would be to stay permanently in one or falling in and out of either which depicts a person who is indecisive. Now, to be on a route has its conditions which affect the person on either side. For the route of Grace, you receive all the conditions of Grace given by God through the finished works of Jesus, and if you don’t want that, you need to get off that route to the other route which is the route of Self, that is, every decision here is self, based, not being led by the Holy Spirit, everything here has nothing to do with what is on the other side. But the truth is that both routes are not heading the same way. Let me elaborate further.

The life of man can be affected by sickness, poverty, death, condemnation and many more, but this can only happen on the man on the Self route, because you can only determine where your route is, based on what you believe, and what you believe affects how you live. A man may not have all these listed earlier just because he is careful, but that doesn’t mean it can’t affect him if he doesn’t take care of himself, because he believes they are real and they exist. But the man on the route of Grace has, life of Jesus, health of Jesus, wealth of Jesus, wisdom of Jesus, no condemnation, sin-free life, and many more because he believes these as real and true, and to believe these, would be to believe in Jesus because it is His life that is given to you as Grace.

But there are times, even though those who believe in Jesus are not confident on the route they are on, they move to the other route without knowing, even though they do technically, an example would be a health issue. Just because a person was on the Self route, he was affected by certain illnesses, but having heard about a new route of Grace he believed and moved over, but just because he moved over didn’t necessarily imply instant change immediately because the change starts from within, the person felt the route wasn’t true and went back believing that the ill health was real. The truth is that in the route of Grace ill health doesn’t exist, so if you take that route, illnesses would be taken off you because it isn’t accepted there, in other words, illnesses cease to exist, what you need to do is to confess that it doesn’t exist, and by doing so, you need to replace that part which said illness exist with something else, and in this case it is the word of God. The more you confess where your life is, you become more and more like a true citizen of where you belong. Don’t allow the life of the other route to pop in, because you have left that place, you just need to persevere, and this is where our helper comes in—the Holy Spirit, or do you prefer the other route where you keep nursing yourself to health or being conscious of death, sickness, poverty? Of course, you don’t, on the route of Grace, you are to be conscious of the conditions of who you are, a brand new life of Christ with no illness, sickness, no death, an incorruptible body, no condemnation, and many more. Don’t be indecisive by going back and forth both routes which would never favour you. Stay on the route that leads to life, and is life itself. “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19.

How To Live

Happy New Week,

I have often times written that the moment a person becomes a Son of God, he uses the faith of Christ and not his faith anymore. This is so because a new life has been acquired, which is the life of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 2:20 are the perfect examples to explain this. I also wrote on The Power in the Obedience of Faith where I used the servants at the wedding in Cana of Galilee how they obeyed Jesus’ instruction. I also related this to the feeding of the 5,000 how the disciples obeyed Jesus’ instructions. Even though I had written on The Power in the Obedience of Faith, there is still need to take a closer look at how exactly we are to live our lives using the faith of Christ.

Living our lives using the faith of Christ is quite easier than we expect. To live a life of faith is really just a life of obedience--that simple. It really doesn’t have anything to do with how much scriptures you know at first, it just has to do with obedience. You cannot really live your life using the scriptures telling you about the finished works of Jesus if you don’t believe and more importantly obey what it says.

Jesus just gave instructions to the servants at the wedding in Cana of Galilee, they lived their lives using the faith of Jesus by just obeying what Jesus said. The same can be said of the disciples when Jesus gave them the bread to share among the 5,000 who were hungry. The truth is that we are just to do whatever the Holy Spirit asks us to do, it is the doing that is the faith. You don’t need to understand what it means at first, the truth is that as you continue obeying the Holy Spirit, you then get to understand the Holy Spirit more and more.

The Gospel of John chapter 8:31-32 says, “So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the Truth, and Truth will set you free.” The more you obey what Jesus says through His word as interpreted by the Holy Spirit, you would get to know the Truth and all what God has given you by grace, and you would find out that the world has been living a lie all this while.

To obey could appear difficult at first because it isn’t the norm of the society, but to live by the faith of Christ is really by obeying Jesus. Live your life normally, but ensure that as you take each step, ask yourself if what you are doing is pleasing to God. This is how it starts, as little as that, you could start now, don't procrastinate. Without faith it is impossible to please God, in other words, without the obedience to God word it is impossible to please God, which again could be put better thus: ensure whatever you do is pleasing to God, starting now. Forget about yesterday how you messed up, start now and onward by ensuring what you are doing is pleasing to God because it would be what God has asked you to do which is helping you live in His grace. This is how simple it can get. Don’t beat yourself up if don’t accomplish pleasing God at first, one thing is certain which is that you need to examine your life every day if it is pleasing to God, before you know it, your life pleases God more and more, and you find the Holy Spirit directing your life, this is really how living by the faith of Jesus becomes, (ref.: 2 Corinthians 13:5). See His grace manifest in your life every day.

What Do I Call Serious Business? (Part 2) (reviewed and re-posted)

Happy Weekend everyone,

In part 1 of this topic, I explained that to follow Jesus Christ is the ultimate business, but some people would ask how much money they would make from that. That question is what I call a lame and unserious, why? Because when you experience God, you would go the extra mile because of the awesome experience you have in Christ. And of course, when God sees your dedication, He takes care of your need. He isn’t called our provider for nothing.

Today, I would take a look at something Apostle Paul said about walking with Christ which is serious business. In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul wrote saying, “He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord-how he may please the Lord. But he who is married cares about the things of the things of the world-how he may please his wife.” he went further saying, “The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world-how she may please her husband” [1 Corinthians 7:32, 33 & 34].

Paul explained earlier saying, “But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.” (1 Corinthians 7:29-31). Paul explained to us that even though getting married isn’t a sin, it is a distraction because even though a man would want to please God when he gets married, his mind is divided. We are meant to be soldiers in the field so we cannot afford for a second to take our eyes off the mission.

Ephesians 5:16-18 says, “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” These are the days where we need to work in the spirit, because the world is passing away and lost, and we are the labourers in the Lord’s vineyard to redeem the lost to Christ. If you are to get married, you must get married to someone who helps you achieve your mission, a help, meet for you, just as God created Eve for Adam (ref.: Genesis 2:18); one shall chase a thousand, and two ten thousand [ref. Deuteronomy 32:30]; this should be your case, and not your spouse slowing you down. This is serious business and not a time for relaxation; draw closer to God and you won’t get anything wrong because He is your direction.

What Do I Call Serious Business? (Part 1) (reviewed and reposted)

Hello everyone,

I’m a young man, so that implies I haven’t lived so long on earth yet to have a lot of experiences to explain to people what serious business is; this fact for me is what I won’t buy, I’d rather stick with the truth and not the fact. The truth for me is that I’ve gathered a lot of experiences to teach people what serious business is. And that is what I intend to explain to you all today.

There’s a story, I love reading that helps to strengthen my Spirit man; I don’t know about you, but Luke 5:1-11 is where the story is; and of course it really happened. Just a quick one; hard work without the direction of the Holy Spirit is like a blind man crossing a fast moving, extremely busy ten lane highway alone; just to let you know that.

Now back to my story, Peter the fisherman (before he became a disciple), is a professional at his job, so it is logical that anyone of whom he would listen to ought to be someone whose job is related to marine life. He had toiled all night with his team in search of fish but couldn’t find any. And here comes Jesus (who was known as a “carpenter”) in the morning seeing Peter and saying to him, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” [Luke 5:4] Really, Jesus sounded silly because what does he think the fishermen had been doing, playing? But really I believe there was a conviction from the Holy Spirit for Peter not to get angry and listen to him as he said, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing: nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” [Luke 5:5]

You see, this is how people miss their blessing; Peter most likely would have seen Jesus perform miracles, which would have been the reason why he gave him preference. Jesus asked Peter to let down [his] nets, but Peter let down the netPeter had a great catch to the point where his net started to break and his boat started to sink, it was then Peter said, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” [Luke 5:8]. Peter later followed Jesus when He called him to be a fisher of men. Well, this is where my topic begins with the decision Peter made; he left all and followed Jesus.

So, what do you think I consider serious business? The decision Peter made is what I call serious business; he left all to follow Jesus. Jesus is our sustainer and the one we work for, but how serious is this business? Jesus said in Matthew 16:24-25, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]. For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity]” AMP.

To follow Jesus is a very serious business, it is not something that you just delve in and delve out; you must be ready to take persecution from people. Peter made up his mind when he took the decision to follow him. However, to follow and remain with Christ is not something of your physical ability but spiritual. An example again is Peter, when Jesus told His disciples that they would all flee when He gets arrested. Peter bragged that even if all would flee at Christ’s arrest, he won’t flee; even as Jesus told him that he would deny Him, he still bragged that even if it meant dying with Him He would die with Jesus. But you all know what happened, as Peter denied Jesus three times (ref. Matthew 26:31-35; 26:69-75; Mark 14:27-31; 14:66-72; Luke 22:31-34; 22:54-62; John 18:15-18, 25-27).

To follow Christ is of the Spirit and not of the flesh; it is the Holy Spirit that keeps us going on strong, strong in the business we have been called. Peter again and John in Acts 4 was arrested by the captain of the temple and the Sadducees and they had to face the Sanhedrin. They were full of boldness and wisdom, this is because the Holy Spirit had come to abide in them, who gave them courage.

Following Christ is the ultimate business, this is why Jesus calls it the great commission; we are to understand how serious being a Believer is; it is not a casual thing like to fulfil all righteousness or to complete a list, IT IS SERIOUS BUSINESS! And we need to live the life.

FAITH Is Not Faith (Reviewed and reposted)

Hi everyone,

Are you aware that everybody in the world has faith in them? Yes, we all do, so if we all have faith in ourselves then what is this the faith that Jesus said we should have? Let’s take a look at this issue.

The faith that a regular human being possesses is the human faith which is expressed through his self-effort. Everything we do on earth is through faith because everything we do is what we believe. We cannot do anything unless we believe in that thing, for instance, we believe by eating food our hunger issues would stop; we believe if we enter a vehicle, it would take us to our destination; we believe in what people say and many more things like. All these are the result of human faith which everyone possesses naturally. So if we possess faith, then what faith was Jesus referring to, or what is the faith God wants us to have wherein Hebrews 11:6a it says “But without faith it is impossible to please Him…” what does this faith mean since we all have faith?

When you take a look at Galatians 2:20 from the King James Version, it says, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” King James Version of this verse was able to identify that when a person becomes a Son of God, the life they live is using the faith of Jesus who is their new Spirit and no longer their faith. The reason is that our faith is imperfect and full of flaws and cannot live the life of God with it.

Jesus was the only man who was able to meet God’s standard and this was due to His complete faith in God. It is this faith that is used to channel ourselves into the kingdom of God. This faith from the human standpoint doesn’t make sense and is hard to believe; the Bible says in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This faith cannot be understood by man because of our imperfection, it would only take a rebirth by having a brand new life and having this kind of faith. This is why when we become born again, our old life dies and we take up a brand new life which is the life of Christ, and since it is the life of Christ which is the life of perfection, we live the Jesus’ life and we use His faith, because only His type of faith can please God.

Hebrews 12:2a says “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith… .” in the original writing, the word wasn’t there, just to show that we don’t have faith, the faith we have is that of Christ. The summary of the whole thing is that we don’t have a life again, the life we now live is now the life of Jesus. We have been connected to a system guided by the Holy Spirit. This also is why Jesus could confidently say that whatever He does is what He sees His Father (God) do, His Father is in Him and He in His Father (ref. John 14:9-11). There is one spirit and if there is one spirit, it means we are all guided by the same being, His thought is now our thoughts, we now have His mind (Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Corinthians 2:16). It is not about us again, but about Christ.

To be selfless and allowing Jesus to rule your heart is the faith God is looking for. Let go and let Him, until we come to the end of ourselves, we won’t see God move through us.

The Power in the Obedience of Faith (Reviewed)

Hello everyone,

I recently went through The Gospel of John chapter 2, which was the time Jesus turned water into wine. I don’t know if I’ve ever said this before, but Jesus is my role model, I just love how He handled things when He was here on earth, the authority He expressed as He spoke as one who is a million times sure of what He was saying. Well, that’s by the way, my focus is not just on the time Jesus went for the wedding at Cana of Galilee, but on something He did there.

As we know, the first miracle recorded by John which Jesus performed was in the turning of water into wine at the wedding in Cana of Galilee. Yeah, we all know that, but have you cared to look at the process Jesus took in turning the water into wine? If you didn’t notice, Jesus didn’t do anything physical, He just gave instructions. What He said was, “Fill the waterpots with water… Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast”. His mother most definitely must have seen the result from the instructions her Son gave in time past, which was why she called Him the moment the wine finish and which was why she told the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it”.

Where am I going with this? Jesus never performed any miracles alone, in other words, whatever He commanded couldn’t be complete without the receiver corresponding to the words. The only way the water would have turned into wine was just the simple obedience of the servants. The servants didn’t need to have faith in themselves, all they needed was just to obey Him which was faith in Him. The miracle happened through them (the servants)!

Look up the feeding of the 5,000 in any of the four Gospels, take The Gospel of John 6 for example. What Jesus simply did was to bless the bread and fish, but as He gave the bread to the disciples to share with the people, the miracle happened in the hands of the disciples.

With these and many other stories, I came an understanding that obedience is a very vital part of faith and not just believing alone. Both the servants and the disciples just obeyed. The power is in Christ, but it is only us who can activate it. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” God/Jesus’ has His fullness dwelling in us through the Holy Spirit, but activating it is through the obedience of faith, which is just doing it even if it doesn’t make sense (sounds funny right? But it’s true).

Both the servants and the disciples didn’t logically analyse what Jesus asked them to do. What we fail to understand is that our logical reasoning or analysis can be a hindrance to the manifestation of God’s power through us. This may appear tough but if we really desire results, we just have to trust and obey Jesus wholeheartedly. Remember, He is never wrong, it is not a man you are dealing with, full of flaws. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
