Motivational Speeches Without Christ Is Nothing

Hello everyone,

The world by the second grows more evil and corrupt to the point that trickery has entered the church, where we find them speak as motivational speakers but without any true substance, what do I mean? What I mean is that those who want to get people to fall for their ways would found a church and speak as motivational speakers in order to pull the crowd. The message would sound so powerful, but when you analyse it with the word of God, the focus isn’t on Jesus, this is getting common today.

Colossians 2:8 says, “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” The ways of the world should not be mixed with Christ. We have today a lot of deceit as people are led astray through intellectual arguments which makes some question their belief in Christ; some still believe in superstitions and paint it in an attractive way by leading people astray. These sort of things are creeping into the church and some Sons of God are being led astray because they aren’t well grounded on the word, and this is where the leaders of the church come in, what exactly do they teach?

When our focus is on Jesus and we have a church gathering and the focus is on Jesus, it would be easy to identify those who are not of Christ. The devil cannot make the mistake to tell any of his agents to encourage people to meditate on the word of God to know more about Jesus, he just can’t, because that is what he doesn’t want to happen, and this is a way to identify false witnesses.

We should be like the Bereans who after receiving the word would search the scriptures to find out if what they heard conforms to the word of God. But we should do more than they did because of the trickery, we must ensure that what we heard is centred on Jesus and what we received by Grace through faith through His resurrection. We must be on the alert because the devil isn’t resting either.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Why not accept Jesus today if you haven’t. Pray out loud, “Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Saviour. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!” Congratulations, you’re born again, you are now brand new!

The Ordained And Their True Mission (2)

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I explained how Jesus ordained some members of the body of Christ to equip the saints. As we know, we are all to grow up to attain Christ’s maturity, in other words, to be grown up in Christ is to be Christ and it is expedient that those ordained guide you to attain maturity.

After equipping us, Ephesians 4:13 explains the reason, “till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;” attaining the full stature of Christ is what those ordained are meant to ensure we achieve. Verse 14 and 15 continues thus, “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.” There are those who deceive and claim to follow Jesus, but are carrying the wrong doctrine. The Sons of God are meant to be confident that those who are ordained are not mixing the gospel with false teachings, which is important to take note of.

The focus is simple—Christ Jesus and His resurrection, and all that we have received in Grace through faith, and how we through believing in Jesus would receive the Holy Spirit who would be our helper and comforter and lead us into all truth (Jesus being Truth Himself).

The church is scattered so much today because those who are ordained to help the saints grow are focusing on other irrelevant things. Rules upon rules are mixed with the gospel; materialism is the order of the day, and focus is lost. The church is the solution to the world’s problems, but if they cannot come together under one voice of undiluted Truth—Jesus Christ, then the world is in trouble and corruption and evil would be on the increase.

Jesus is the focus of everything and nothing else, we should not be carried away by those who have material things and believe that is the focus today. Any leader who focuses on material thing in the name of Jesus is a fake. We don’t struggle for prosperity because the way God blesses us isn’t the way the world get their wealth.

My focus here is that church should not be the place where wrong teachings, trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting should be found. But the church with the ordained leader guiding the saints should be a place where the truth is spoken in love, which would allow the saints or Sons of God grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

The Ordained And Their True Mission

Happy New Week everyone,

The church is the body of Christ, and being the body of Christ we are not meant to be cancerous to the head, in other words, we are to meant to obey everything that comes from the head—Jesus. In order to strengthen the church, He appointed some among the body of Christ to equip the church. Ephesians 4:11-12 says, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

The moment you become born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, and at that stage, you are a babe in Christ, and you would need some assistance from those who are mature in faith to help you in understanding how to study and meditate on the word and also understand walking with the Holy Spirit. These people to equip the saints are those Jesus chose. There are also those who have grown to a good level, it is the responsibility the Pastor for instance to be a Shepherd to the church.

The aim of all these is to equip the church in being focused on Christ Himself. So, those ordained are meant to be properly equipped first of all, in order to properly equip others. As Sons of God, we are all growing up into Christ, and it is the job of those ordained to ensure that the saints who are the Sons of God don’t lose focus. So, what does Jesus expect those ordained to do? Log on tomorrow as I continue on this topic.

Not Too Big For GOD To Handle

Happy Sunday everyone,

There are things you do or hear which could make you anxious or bring about worry. Maybe you saw your bank statement which is approaching red, or maybe you got a good sum of money and all of a sudden you looked at the list of things you need to get done which would eventually wipe out all the money; it could be that your landlord has given you a three month quit notice, and you don’t know where to move to with your family; it could be a health issue or you trying to get a job and bills upon bills keep piling up. These are enough reasons for you to worry or be anxious, but guess what? An innocent man was in prison, he understood how the challenges are which the devil uses as an avenue to creep in, and while in prison he wrote a letter to a church and a part of it he said, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your life.” This was written by Apostle Paul when he was in the prison, a letter he wrote to the church in Philippi, and Philippians 4:6-7 was quoted from the Message Bible.

I’ve had several reasons to be anxious, in fact there was something on my mind which wanted to cause a sort of anxiety for me just before I started writing the blog for this day, but as I looked into the scriptures and meditated on Philippians 4:6-7, I smiled because this had been the verses that had given a reason to always trust God in every situation. The Message says, “Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.” In doing this, the peace of God that transcends all understanding would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Apostle Paul didn’t write this just to make us feel happy, instead he wrote what we are meant to be doing because worries and anxiety are ways the devil creeps into our lives and you then see how people forget God first of all, and they later start doing things out of desperation. Some even go to the point of taking drastic actions without thinking. But Paul wrote this to call us to order, reminding us that there is a God who is greater than all our problems put together and is our very help in time of need. God Himself said He will never leave us nor forsake us, nothing is too big for Him to handle. Which is why we praise God as we drop our petitions to Him, we strengthen our faith in Him, and His peace which we have in Jesus is activated in us, that peace that passes all understanding gives us that assurance and confidence that God has taken care of the situation.

Don’t be quick to worry, rather be quick to put your trust in Jesus, in Him alone can we find true peace of mind.

Trials Should Be Fun For You

Happy Weekend everyone,

I remember a statement made by one of my lecturers back in the university, he said, “A tree cannot say it is tall until it stands among other trees.” It was good food for thought for me back then and still is, and in our walk with God, how do we know we are solid in Christ? The other time I wrote on examining oneself in Christ if he or she is solid in faith or a counterfeit. But as we walk with Jesus, we oftentimes go through trials, and this could be very displeasing, and you ask God why this always happens.

Apostle James wrote in James 1:2-4, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” I love the way the Message Bible put these same verses, “Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colours. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.”

After lectures and training, we are meant to go through an examination to be sure if we were properly taught by making use of all what was taught when the trials and temptations come, this is where you exercise your true faith, and you see how strong you are and what and where you need to work on. Verse 4 says, “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” The Message Bible says, “Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.” The whole essence of trials is for us to become mature and well-developed, thus becoming perfect and complete.

One thing to note is that we should always be ready for the trials, thus being on the alert and ready to express our level of faith in determining how mature we are. It shouldn’t be a time where we back down by displaying weakness, but a time of strength and courage. This is why James says we should count it all joy when we fall into various trials, and it really should, in our lives.

May the LORD bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you. May the LORD be gracious to you and lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. AMEN.

Focus On The Truth And Nothing Else

Hello everyone,

I looked at a coin, it had a head and a tail, but I noticed I couldn’t see both the head and the tail at the same time. It is the same with life there are just two sides to everything, that’s why the other side is called the opposite. Just the way we have right, the opposite is wrong; man, the opposite is a woman; north, the opposite is south, and so on. My emphasis on this is that our lives are governed by the side we choose in whatever area. We have the ability to change sides, but we cannot pick both at the same time. So, as Sons of God, there is a way God wants us to live, but we are often enticed by the opposite of what God offered us, suggestions to choose the opposite of how God wants us to live comes to us, the choice is then left to us. How then do we know how to identify the right stand with God as we live our daily lives?

Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble [honest], whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate in these things.” All the attributes underlined are attributes of God. When God speaks we understand that it carries all these attributes, take for instance—truth. Everything God says is true, He doesn’t lie and we can be sure on what He has said.

When a Doctor tells a person that he or she has been diagnosed with cancer and has a certain number of years to live that is not a good report but a bad one. In order to take a stand on this kind of matter, what did God say about this? We understand that by the stripes on Jesus, we were made healed. This is opposing what the doctor said, but it is a good report. Not just does it have a good report, it has virtue and it is a thing that is praiseworthy. This is what we are to meditate on. God doesn’t fill us with optimism, rather He tells us what is, take for instance His Grace through our Lord Jesus Christ, having the fullness of Christ in us, all these are not optimism but the truth.

We are to dwell on what God says, but in a general statement made as we move about, they need to have the attributes stated in Philippians 4:8, they must have virtue and should be a thing that is praiseworthy. When you get any statement which brings down your soul, which brings about worry, they are not from God, because they are not lovely nor are they good reports. When we are conscious of what we listen to or whatever thing our senses pick, this would allow us to channel our focus on the attributes of truth, honesty, justification, purity, love, good report, which are virtuous and are praiseworthy. These are the things we must meditate on and fix our minds on. Any other thing would oppose these attributes.

Just Lean On Him

Hi everyone,

Have you ever been in a fix and you know there is nothing in that smart brain of yours that can take you out of it? Well, I’ve been in a lot of it, and I keep thinking I can get out of the mess [which truly isn’t possible], but it wasn’t until the Holy Spirit asked who I run to for help when I get into trouble, that I then understood where He was headed.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognise, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” AMP.

The major issue we have is trust issues, we don’t trust God enough. We might say “no, that’s not true, I trust God with all my heart.” What God usually ask us to do is usually strange, or sometimes, they might not be strange but they won’t be heading in the direction you felt was best according to your findings and statistical analysis, generally approved by man, written in books, taught in schools, and so on, but that’s not where He would lead you through. The question now is do we trust God very much? True we trust Him, but to what extent?

The reason why King Solomon said we should trust God by not leaning on our own understanding is that it would in many times contradict what we stand for, but why must we trust Him anyway, is it because He is God, so giving Him that respect is to obey Him? Well, that could be a reason, but God isn’t a mean person Who would lead you astray. And why is it that from the past records, He has never led anyone astray? It is because He knows what is going to happen, He knows the end from the beginning, He sees what no man can see or predict.

As I have said many times before, Man always assumes, use probability, and predict, which is never accurate until they happen by chance. In other words, Man leaves everything to chance. But there is a Person Who chance isn’t in His dictionary, nothing ever happens by accident because He knows the outcome of everything beyond the understanding of Man, that which we can never quantify with our reasoning. Who would you rather choose? The game of chance or the path of accuracy?

The truth is that either taking the route of chance or taking the path of accuracy are risks, but then again, the One with the path of accuracy is Accuracy personified, and the Truth Himself, (ref.: Numbers 23:19; John 14:6), and He can never change, because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, (ref.: Hebrews 13:8), and in His record, excellence is an understatement. So, when He asks you to follow Him, would you still choose the way of chance or the path of over accuracy? The choice is left to you.
